This review is intended to be constructive. I'm giving 2 stars for the locations convenience and friendly staff. This was my first time here (I was given a gift certificate for my birthday) and my primary reason for getting a facial was to get my blackheads and overall congestion extracted which I mentioned when I made my appointment, and at the beginning of my facial. Unfortunately I got very little extraction during my service, a lot of massage and a suggestion to book a series of treatments to address my concerns (generally my breakouts are stress related). Quite honestly my skin looks the same; and I will be booking a facial with my typically esthetician in Revere, MA to reduce the congestion I'm experiencing. While not every breakout is ready to be extracted, and my light sensitivity should be considered, I do have quite a bit of congestion on both cheeks, my chin and in between my eyebrows, that could have extracted and typically are when I receive facials at my regular esthetician. My top suggestions to improve: 1.) prioritize extraction on the areas the client is concerned with and distort time to these concerns so your client feels heard and 2.) use more pressure during the massage portion as the gentle pressure wasn't as relaxing as it could have been (on a scale of 1-5, pressure was a 2). read more

I had purchased a gift certificate for my mother in law who unexpectedly passed away. Unfortunately, I am not able to use the certificate as I have an infant at home and live in CT( although I would have loved to)! I called the owner and explained the situation and was very pleased with her understanding and promptness in providing a refund due to the unusual circumstances. Finally, a place in the Monadnock region that is lovely, peaceful, welcoming, professional , and reasonably priced. Sarah did my pedicure and it was an excellent experience. I have been to no less than 5 places in Peterborough to get nail service and each has been disappointing. This facility is spotless, lovely, relaxing, and welcoming from the moment a customer walks in the door. Excellent infection prevention practices. And the Express Pedicure is less than I have paid elsewhere in P'borough. Have rebooked for a pedicure and will also be trying the facial. Quality beauty services in the Monadnock region is hard to find, but it is here and at 105 Grove (Roz Petrain cuts my hair there). European esthetics is well worth a visit. read more

When I made the initial appointment, I thought that this could be a relaxing experience. It was nothing of the sort. I expect that schedulers and management might consider honoring their commitments. I was asked to come in a half hour earlier than my scheduled appointment. I came in 25 minutes before. They were not able to give me 2 of the 3 services that were scheduled but rather provided reduced services. I got a discount. I did not take the time out of my day for a discount. I took the time out of my day to get: 1. A spa mani/pedi (got the pedi but not the manicure) 2. An express facial (not enough time) 3. A waxing (sort of waxed but still have issues) I assumed that the practitioners were skilled but overbooked so I was just collateral damage. read more

Myself, mother and sister in law scheduled appointments at the spa during a girls weekend. We were all able to get the service we wanted (facial, massage, manicure with reflexology massage). The level of service we received was outstanding. Everyone that worked there was friendly and helpful. I loved my facial and it was one of the best that I have had. It was relaxing and at the same time, left my skin feeling beautiful. My sister in law's massage was wonderful. She said the woman doing the massage communicated with her and asked her questions and she was very happy with her experience. My mother had a manicure and the manicurist spent ALOT of time on her nails as they really needed some help! She was so happy with the results! Thank you for making our girls weekend together just a little more special...we will definitely be back! read more

I simply love this place. I went for a facial last weekend Kate and then I went for a manicure with Sarah. I highly recommend going here to relax and unwind. You can even go there just to drink tea in the tea room. Nice job Ellen and staff....you are amazing! read more

Started going here and seeing Pam for my nails and I am SO thankful for her rescuing my nails!! The staff here has been so friendly and extremely professional. I'm writing this on behalf of my mother. Although the massage and facial was very nice, the staff was kind of rude. A staff member told my middle-aged mom, "You have very mature skin." And then at the end of her facial, said, "You have a really plump face. So this is the best we can do." It really hurt my mom's feelings. Very disappointing. read more
