There are nighttime ranger talks, also a quick walk from the cabins. We really enjoyed the astronomy presentation. The rangers had a green laser they were able to point out different constellations. She did set me up in a hotel and paid for it, but it is NOT comparable to the cabin that I paid for. Her comment was "it's a nice hotel" and "it it makes you feel better, it was more than you paid" - except in January, it was not more than I paid. Even last minute it was $12 LESS than I paid. Bottom line seems to be that she could make more money from the other group, so she bumped me along with at least 2 other reservations when really she should have told the other group that she could not accommodate their extra people.

I've stayed in hotels all over the country, and I can confidently say that David may be the single greatest continental breakfast attendant in the history of lodging. If there were a Breakfast Hall of Fame, he would be a first-ballot inductee. If there were a Mount Rushmore of hospitality workers, they would need to carve a fifth face. At one point I watched him refill the pancake station with such efficiency and grace that I briefly wondered if I was witnessing an advanced civilization disguised as a hotel employee. Scientists should study his ability to keep coffee flowing, raspberry-filled donuts available, and traveler morale at peak levels. Economists should measure the positive impact he has on the local tourism industry. Historians will someday ask how a continental breakfast at a roadside hotel became legendary.
