Pretty great bagels!…read more I had passed by this place while going to dinner one of our nights in Paris and was drawn in with their foie gras bagel. I had to have it! So, on our trip to Versailles, we came here to buy our foie gras bagel to bring on our train ride. The people here were quite nice and quick to take our order. Even better, Yelp check in gave us a free Berry Company drink! The store/ eatery is rather spacious given the area, feels very open and is quite clean. They have plenty of food options, but of course as I was on a foie gras binge, I needed to have a foie gras bagel. The bagel itself was pretty good! Great fresh bagel with fresh spinach / veggies in our bagel with a pretty hefty spread of foie gras and jam. The only problem was that our foie gras and jam wasn't evenly spread out on the bagel, so we had to work on spreading the goods on our bagel before we could eat it. Otherwise, great bagel! I was excited to come back on our last day here to come get a bagel, but they were sadly closed!

Woa. My eyes and I walked out. Serious management issues. As for the food? No clue, but I don't want to know with so many better options around in terms of service. Not acceptable folks. La pire expérience de service client imaginable. Le vendeur m'a simplement mise dehors "vous avez des yeux, z'avez qu'à regarder le menu". Odieux. Et inacceptable. Changer de métier?

They also had cream cheese. Now our hotel, which had lox on their breakfast buffet, did not, nor bagels. Lox on a baguette with butter, really does not cut it, so we were happily surprised to find Bagelstein. But they wanted to put that cream cheese on every sandwich, including chicken, ham, veggie, etc. Somethings I will never figure out. But, their bagels were pretty good.

Bagelstein is a franchise run by Parisians. If you are looking for NYC Deli, NYC bagels, you're in…read morethe wrong place. The founder did go to NYC to learn a few things, but his starting point was Jewish bagels, hence the "stein" affixed. A bunch of them has popped up all over paris and this location is one of the many. At the time I'm writing this, this location is quite new and only opened recently. I'm not sure what kind of clientele they are expecting here, but I suppose it's close enough to the Eiffel Tower. I walked in to the empty store and was greeted by a French guy who insisted on speaking English to me, despite my attempts of speaking in French. Menu are on the wall and i ordered a "GAB" that had pastrami, red onion, marinated peppers, and cream cheese. For about 9.50 EUR, it also came with a tiny tiny coffee and i asked for a latte, and a dessert, which i chose a cookie. For the bagel (I chose onion), the bread felt a little stale, and the pastrami was pallidly little. The taste was good. For the "latte", it was TINY and made from a machine on which you'd press a button. It was surprisingly good though! For the cookie, I got the cranberry white chocolate. It was soft but not buttery and very sweet. Not very good. Overall, it was okay. If I'm looking for a sandwich early morning, it's a good option, but I wouldn't rave about the place.

There are a few locations of Terres de Café in Paris of differing sizes and this one in Batignolles has the perfect amount of seating and cozy atmosphere to read a book or meet with friends. On weekdays it's a nice and comfortable place to work on your laptop, provided you have your own hotspot (no WiFi here), and on weekends when computers are not allowed the ambiance is much more familial and lively. The coffee is high-quality and the employees are very knowledgeable about the beans and flavor profiles. I've enjoyed all the drinks I've had here, with my usual being a simple latte. They also sell coffee beans and Nespresso pods to go. The pastry selection is typically limited to banana bread, brownies, and cookies as they are much more focused on the coffee, but I found them to be really good anyway. The staff are friendly and make an effort to get to know their regular customers, and the café is very friendly to families and children especially on weekends. The café is conveniently located in Batignolles near plenty of other shops as well as the Mairie.
