My sister and I were walking around Paris and wanted to find somewhere with a good baguette. I looked around on yelp and found this bakery. We rode the metro a couple of stops and this place was right as you exit the metro. It couldn't have been more convenient. I ordered a couple of items like chocolate bread, a croissant and of course a couple of baguettes. Everything we tried was amazing. The baguette was like no other that I have ever had. It was nice and crisp on the outside and the inside was airy and chewy. Absolutely perfect. I have been wanting another baguette like this since I left. This bakery is a great place to stop and pick up some bakery items. Also, the prices are wonderful. A great baguette for one euro is an amazing deal.

Stopped in for a quick pastry before a tour we had. My husband and I both got chocolate croissants and they were to die for! So buttery, warm and flaky. Very close to the metro line and our hotel. Wish we had an extra day because we would have gone back again!

This little boulangerie-pâtisserie in front of our apartment is my favorite. We get our croissants there in the morning; sandwiches, for lunch; little pâtisseries and desserts, for... well, any time of day (!); and baguette for our afterwork snacking with some cheese and pâtés. I recommend the financiers (red berries, pistacchio, as well as chocolate chips) and the chicken sandwich (they rarely make it; if you happen to pass by Privat for lunch and you see the chicken baguette, GRAB IT PRONTO!). The baguettes and croissants, of course, are delicious. This little boutique has friendly staff and a very modern decor. Two of the shop's 4 walls are made of old dark wood (the other 2 are the façade windows) which gives it extra warmth and homey feel. They also get extra points for their awesome branding and packaging. J'aime ! :-)

This place was one of the biggest shocks of my most recent trip to Paris. I was staying at the Ibis down the block, and this was literally the closest bakery to the hotel. We walked in and were thrilled to know that one of the workers knew a bit of English, so she was able to help us choose what we ordered. We got a plain croissant, a quiche lorraine, a chocolate croissant, and a tomato, walnut and a cheese [like 4 cheeses] tart. All of it was amazing. I'm not saying it just because it is a bakery in Paris. Even after trying about a dozen other bakeries I was reading about, this was still my favorite. The quiche was like butter; literally. It was the best I've had. The croissant was fresh off the tray and, by the time my teeth chewed from the top to bottom layer, it was paper thin, airy, and delicious. The cheese, walnut, tomato flat bread tart thingy I got was my favorite item. I had one every single morning, except for when they were closed on Boxing Day. They were even open on Christmas, which I found to be a miracle. Awesome staff, delicious pastries, and great location. 5 stars, without a doubt.

Over rated. Nothing special. Quiche lorraine was too salty. Cappuccino comes from an instant packet. Almond croissant was very soggy.

Everything you could want from a Paris Bakery. Croissants and Baguettes that are like nothing I've ever had. Loved it all.

The store is gorgeous and will immediately catch your eye, I knew I had to come see what was going on in here. I crossed over and walked in to find the most delightful le merveilleux. I ordered 3 minis which I trekked all over town for the day and later enjoyed for in the evening. They were delish! My advice would be don't trek all over town with them, enjoy them or store them to enjoy later. They were great but they are fairly delicate. These treats are super light and the perfect little treats. The mini size is perfect to enjoy several flavors. I'm a Los Angeles native and while many may say they haven't seen or heard of these le merveilleux before, we have a little French bakery at home called Le Mervetty that I've ordered cakes from and they make these. They are truly special, I've always felt that. If you're looking for a lovely treat, definitely stop in. Service was quick and friendly!

I got the sampler of 6 merengues in a cute box but I only got to try 3 as I shared the rest with our house host. My fave was the Magnifique - meringue coated in pralines. So light and airy as with the rest. The Merveilleux - chocolate was a bit too sweet for my taste what with the layers n layers of chocolate. I am not a fan of white chocolate so I did not like the Incroyable - white chocolate with speculoos. The shop have different branches in Paris as well as the train stations but we went to the one by the Moulin Rouge. It is right smack in the center of the street you wouldn't miss it with its very opulent chandelier hanging by the window. They make and bake their pastries on site as with each and every patisserie in Paris it seems. So everything is freshly baked!

I had just finished my time at the Eiffel tower and walked over to this restaurant for a drink and a snack. I was seated immediately, waiting for the rest of my party. The staff were incredibly patient, allowing me to stay for the fifteen-ish minutes it took for my family to arrive. We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup. I did wish the restaurant allowed us to split the pot amongst our table. Nonetheless, I enjoy dining at Carette and returned on my second Paris trip with my husband. Anyone visiting for the first time should try their thick hot chocolate at least once.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more+ THEEEEEE gold standard for macarons in Paris ... or anywhere for that matter. + Macarons here are a little crisp, a little pillowy softness and a whollllllle bunch of flavor. - It cost a pretty penny (about 3 Euros for 1 piece), but you won't regret it for a second when you bite into one of these addictively delicious treats. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + All class, top notch white glove service - literally - they handle the macarons with much care like it were gold! THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ + Located in the heart of the Champs-Élysées on Rue Lincoln, so, YES, it is busy like rush hour outside ... and inside. + There are 2 sides to this massive flagship location - you can either make a purchase of macarons at their store OR dine/sit down in their tea house. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- = Expect waits on a weekend afternoon, especially to sit down in the tea room. If you just make a store purchase, it's only about a 10 minute wait ... and you'll be thanking your legs for that. = It's a tourist destination in itself, so expect LOTS of people taking photos of this location.
