It was my favorite hotel during my Portugal trip. While the city where the hotel is located is pretty boring, the hotel is beautiful. They have a parking lot that tends to fill fast so make sure you get there early enough to guarantee a spot. Entertainment-wise, they have a game room with a pool table, a bar with plenty of seating and a secondary room with a large TV projector, a gym, a garden, and more. The rooms are just as beautiful as the common areas and the WiFi works well. Service is friendly. I also stopped by for breakfast one day which was also pretty good. I especially liked the fresh bread. You can't go wrong at this hotel, overall, it has everything you need and more!

The room was across the street. Very modern, but everything in good working condition. Breakfast was quite extensive and a bit on the sweet side (this is Portugal, not Germany). If next time the Casa do Arrabalde is closed, I will definitely come back here. Price is also perfectly acceptable. They helped us make sure we had legit parking, helped with bags, and printed out boarding passes. They also found us a great local dining spot. See my post for Velhos Tempos. We ate there twice. There was a frig in the room and shutters on windows. Breakfast included. Nice fruit market next door and an atm as well. Small drawbacks were neighbors noise, bathroom door didn't close and bathtub drain was slow but there were signs they are improving things as they were painting. If we asked for anything the guru got it right away. Heartily recommend this one.

My hotel safe would not unlock and maintenance could hardly get it to open with their passcode either. Next night the toilet would not flush. When I needed to tell the hotel that the toilet would not flush is when I discovered the phones were not connected. When I went downstairs to tell the front desk that the toilet was not flushing, and the phones were not working there was a backup of seven people in line and one for receptionist working. They were severely understaffed, and there are too many maintenance issues with this hotel. Also, there's a sliding door that covers the bathroom and toilet and then it slides over and is the shower door. Very weird. The breakfast is massive and could provide anything anyone was interested in so that was A+. The food from the menus was excellent. The hotel is also very isolated away from everything other than walking across the street to a McDonald's. All in all we ended up not choosing this one of our guest hotels.
