I wish I had read all the other horrified reviews on TripAdvisor and Google reviews about this once good place before booking it for a birthday. What a mistake to come here. Our waiter Egon (not sure of the spelling of his name) made Basil Fawlty from the TV show Fawlty Towers look sane and professional. I have never encountered such rudeness from a waiter in my life. Oh and they also overcharged us: Egon, I hope you use our money to pay for anger management classes!

Now it's located on the main Street area of Clifton Hill (25 years in Melbourne and I just learnt this suburb existed). Given the late hour the place was totally empty, nonetheless I was greeted with a smile and an open kitchen. I ordered the Penelope- a lamb souvlaki with potato. After a short wait I was given my dinner and headed back to mine. Now this is a kebab made with love. It's smaller than your usual kebab but the pita bread was so soft and warm, the lamb cooked perfectly, the tatziki was so creamy and garlicky and I could taste hints of lemon as I ate. Added to that was some tomato and onion. I do think the lamb could have done with a bit more salt and overall more onion (that's just my preference) but given the late hour, I was so impressed at the way this kebab was lovingly made. Also, the interior is decorated really nicely with a super chill atmosphere. Highly recommended!
