He met with my fiancee and I before the big day and clued us in on all the elements of music and sound hookups that we needed to think about (most were way off our radar, so his guidance was oh-so-necessary). He didn't rush us, had a great easy-going personality, and he made sure to get us to the right kinds of decisions for us - getting the ambiance that we envisioned. Once we decided what we wanted, he made it all happen, flawlessly. During the wedding, he kept the party going, judged the crowd and the dance party just right, and made announcements without any hint of "cheesy DJ" spiel. I am SO glad we hired Bailey Entertainment for the DJ/MC at our wedding! They made the planning process easy in the days leading up to the wedding, and I was so impressed by how buttoned-up and perfect the whole day went because of Neal. Our wedding ceremony was in a hard-to-get-to location without power outlets, but that was no problem for them. Neal arrived with plenty of time to set-up and make sure everything was perfect before guests started arriving. Neal was a full-service DJ who helped us direct guests to each location, dismiss tables for our buffet, queued up all the correct songs, and had a great music selection to fit the mood. We had everyone dancing all night long! We could not have been more pleased with Neal & Bailey Entertainment. He was flexible, personable, and professional which made our "long distance" planning easy. (I planned the wedding from Southern CA but got married in Nipomo/Arroyo Grande). We hired Chris to be the DJ for our ceremony and reception. He did a FANTASTIC job! His song choice/playlist is perfect. He started with some oldies to get the older crowd going and then seamlessly migrated into more contemporary hip hop songs. After the wedding everyone kept telling us we through the best party ever, and I contribute those comments to his great DJ skills. Also, before the wedding you fill out an extensive survey of how the day will go down and you get to choose songs from a HUGE library. Chris went above and beyond to be a great DJ and MC for our wedding this August! He came out to the site well beforehand to familiarize himself with the venue, gave us detailed planning forms to help us plan our day, reviewed our plans with us before the wedding to make sure he had all the little details correct, and showed up early the day of the wedding to make sure things went seamlessly. We can't say enough about his professionalism, and the amazing job that he did! He's got every song you could ask for, and he has a fantastic presence on the mic. He kept the party atmosphere going, and guided the other parts of the wedding, too. Don't settle for just a DJ, he did so much more than that for us and our wedding went so much better for having him! He mic'd our officiant and groom for the ceremony, as well as our musicians. He was our MC keeping the cocktail hour and reception on track, he even helped calling specific guests over for photos.... he was everywhere and doing a great job the entire time! From my first meeting with Chris, I knew he was the DJ for the wedding. He had the 4 P's - he was personable, professional, prepared and prompt. Our DJ, Chris Bailey, was super professional. He made our experience very easy and painless. His website is very organized and helped our event run very smooth, especially since there were so many things we didn't know we needed to do! The website let him know exactly what we wanted (timeline, which songs to play and when....), and we knew exactly what to expect from him. Some songs we wanted to have played after our ceremony were not available on his site, and all we had to do was tell him what we wanted, and he got it for us immediately. This review is long overdue and for this we apologize. Working with Chris Bailey from Bailey Entertainment DJs & Décor Lighting was a wonderful experience. We would recommend him wholeheartedly. He really listened to what we wanted, had great suggestions and it was obvious that he cared about making our special day a fun time for everyone. He has so many songs to choose from and anything he doesn't have he is happy to get. Several weeks before our wedding he sent us a link to his website so that we could provide information regarding the music, wedding party and parents' names, and the order of the events. Chris stayed in touch with us and answered any questions we had in a very timely manner. We met with him in person a few days before the wedding to go over the details. My husband and I knew exactly what we wanted for a few songs, but we needed a little assistance on the rest. Chris had great suggestions and we used them for the guys walking in and the wedding party walking out. He really listened to us regarding the types of music that we love. He even has a "do not play" section, which was great. If a song was on that list, Chris made sure that it did not get played at any time during the event. I had told him that the one thing that I was concerned about was music playing during the meal and people having to talk over it. Not only did he keep it at a perfect volume, he checked in with me during dinner. That really impressed me and showed that he really cared about making our day perfect for us. Chris was there for the entire wedding day. Setting up early, providing the sound equipment for the ceremony, announcing the wedding party for the grand entrance, announcing dinner, excusing tables, announcing the toast and keeping the party going. I am sure there is more that I am unaware of. It is very obvious that Chris has been doing this for a long time because he knows exactly what he is doing and when to do it. He has a great sense of humor, is fun to work with and is a genuinely nice guy. Chris even surprised me by wiring my husband with a lapel mic, which I did not notice during the ceremony. It was not until the ceremony was completely over and we had walked out, that he took the mic off and told me that he recorded the ceremony and our vows. What a great surprise! This is something that I will always be grateful for. Being part of a family that owns a wedding venue, we've had a lot of opportunities to see how different vendors work. Choosing Chris Bailey as our DJ was not only an easy decision, but one of our best choices in vendors. Chris always responded to emails and phone calls immediately and was very helpful in answering our questions, especially when we were completely lost on some of our song choices. Chris also owns his own company, so you will receive personal attention directly from him, rather than from a secretary or other employee. His rates are affordable and he is also flexible if you need to change items in your contract (like location, starting/end times, etc.). Chris proved to go above and beyond as our DJ. When our original venue canceled our wedding, I called to let him know. Before the end of my workday, he had already called several new venues for us to see if they were available. What other DJ would do that? On wedding day, he was prompt, professional, followed our pre-discussed timeline and song choices, and kept the event flowing as our Master of Ceremonies. Our one major request from him was to keep people out on the dance floor, and he delivered. He kept the music upbeat, took requests from our guests, and even warned my husband (a country music hater) ahead of time before we did the Electric Slide. We chose Chris Bailey as our DJ for our wedding this April, and we couldn't have made a better choice!! He was awesome as a DJ, and he also handled the outdoor bistro lighting for our venue. From the beginning, Chris responded quickly to emails and calls and was always available and flexible for meetings. We were especially interested in the logistics of bistro lighting for our outdoor venue, and Chris came up with a plan for this at our first meeting, got it okayed by the venue owners right away, and was very clear and consistent with the pricing he quoted us. Once we signed the contract with him, he worked with the venue owners weeks in advance of the wedding to install what he would need (hardware, etc.) in order to set up the bistro lights for the big day, so we never had to worry that there might be a glitch in the plans. Chris had the lights themselves installed prior to the rehearsal (on-site) the day before the wedding, so we could see how they looked ahead of time, no surprises. And the lights were perfect for the event! They set just the right mood for dusk and on into the evening, and provided plenty of light for our guests. As far as his DJ services, Chris was wonderful! He was gracious, friendly, and accomodating with all of our guests, and he was also quite accomodating with my fiance (now husband!) and me before the wedding day. We didn't have a clue as to how to map out some parts of the ceremony and reception timeline, but Chris met with us and walked us through all of it, helping us nail down those details, making us confident that the afternoon/evening would proceed smoothly. And it did! On the day of, Chris was the first vendor there, getting all of his DJ equipment set up early in the day, to be out of the way of other vendors, and throughout the entire ceremony and reception, he kept things moving perfectly smoothly! Throughout the reception, Chris always made sure we were ready to proceed with the next part of the reception without ever making us feel rushed. He was also very attentive to our needs, offering to get us appetizers during the portraits and drinks throughout the evening, making us feel like the guests! And as mentioned, he was great with our guests -- friendly, funny, totally approachable, and completely professional, and that also carried over to his DJ-ing style. At the end of the evening, as the last dance ended, Chris had a really awesome surprise for us, (which I won't mention in case you end up booking him for your wedding--I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!) which was beyond thoughtful and created the perfect end to our wedding!
