You can hire a DJ or you can hire Dan and have both a DJ and the most talented singer sing live at your event. My daughter was married on April 6, 2024. Dan had a zoom meeting with my daughter and her fiancé a few weeks before the wedding to talk about exactly how they wanted the music for their special day. Dan Curcio was in a band called StillTime a little bit ago and I had mentioned if I ever found out he did weddings I would hire him in a heart beat. Fast forward a few years later I found out that he started Come Alive Entertainment! Prior to wedding planning, I knew someone who had booked him for their wedding back in 2016 and they said he was amazing and having the live music component was truly a memorable experience for their guests. When we started the wedding planning process we reached out to Steph (Dan's wife). We booked Dan who does live acoustic songs, is the MC and becomes the DJ. We also booked Ryan who played the drums during cocktail hour and the live music portion of the reception. Steph was amazing to work with during the entire process from the initial conversation to after our wedding. Steph was very attentive and she was available to answer any questions on the process and even offer recommendations. The music plan that Steph and Dan have created is perfection! It just shows how detailed they are and how they are well versed in the process, making it simple and easy for their clients. There was such a good mix of songs from different eras that EVERYONE was on the dance floor and had such a great time! We met with Dan in person for our meeting and he was professional, offered suggestions and was a delight to work with. We also ended up meeting Ryan who plays the drums the same day as their band was playing at a local venue. On our wedding day, Dan and Ryan were amazing! I took a moment during cocktail hour to absorb it all in and even requested one of my favorite songs from him. For our first dance song, we had Dan sing live acoustic one of his original songs from his band StillTime and it was perfect! I first heard Dan at the Santa Maria Farmers Market near the mall. On a fluke, I was in town and was picking up a cake for my uncles birthday. I had just started planning my central coast wedding and my fiancé (at that time) and I heard our wedding song, Is this love, by Bob Marley. He was so fantastic on his guitar and his voice nailed it. I knew then that if he was affordable, we needed to hire him. Sure enough, he was within our budget. Dan was so amazing at our wedding this past Friday. He was so professional but laid back. He played all the songs on our list, but then added his own songs that fit our style so incredibly well. I found Come Alive Entertainment via Yelp while looking for live entertainment for a 5th year anniversary surprise for my husband. With Steph's help-we organized a private concert for two at our favorite winery. I selected Natalie because of her BEAUTIFUL voice and many of her songs were my husband's favorites. My husband and I had the extreme pleasure to have Dan play at our wedding a few weeks ago at The Penny in SLO and we just cant begin to say enough wonderful things about him and his talent!!! If you EVER have the opportunity, hire these amazing artists/musicians.. my guess is that they will soon be too famous/popular to hire for events. Their original music (music written by the band) is some of the best songwriting I've ever heard, and fits their sound perfectly. We hired Dan and the Moonshiner Collective to perform at our wedding this summer. They were heart and soul of the reception. Not many of our wedding guests were the "dancing" type -- but EVERYONE was on their feet after dinner dancing - young and old, all evening long. It still feels like a dream! In addition to being exceptionally talented, Dan is also extremely kind and professional. He very skillfully set up the audio system for our ceremony in a rather tricky, small outdoor space with mics for multiple live music groups and readers. It was seamless and perfect. My (now) husband and I seemed to find all the main vendors pretty quickly for our Wedding, except for the Entertainment. Everyone we came across just wasn't the right fit. We were looking for someone who could perform live as guests arrive and during cocktail hour, and then transition into more of a dJ-type vibe later on in the night for dancing; who could also take on a MC role. Well, that's exactly what Dan did. I heard Dan perform numerous times at various events so I knew already how amazing he was, but I assumed he would be way too busy to take on our wedding or be available. I ended up contacting him anyway and I'm SOOO happy I did. Not only is he extremely talented (like seriously talented -- you should check out his original music asap!), he is professional, fun, and made this process so easy! His wife, Stephanie, who manages his schedule, was also such a pleasure to work with and so accommodating. They really work with you to try and make sure they get the vibe/feel of your wedding. Dan and his drummer were simply amazing at my wedding on the Central Coast of California. I got something like 10 compliments on the live music the night of the wedding, and more in the days following. Someone actually came up to me when Dan started to DJ the dance party and asked that they go back to playing covers, to me that speaks volumes of how amazing they are. If I could give 10 stars I would!!! My husband and I fondly remember seeing Dan when he was part of Still Time during our Cal Poly days so it was a no-brainer to ask him to do the music for our wedding. We met with Dan prior to the wedding to discuss our visions, musical styles, and really just to connect - that was so great and really put us at ease. Dan is such a delight, he is calm, easy-going, and has a great sense of humor. He took our musical visions and made them into a dream come true. My husband and I got married in November in the redwoods and I will never forget walking down the aisle as Mr. & Mrs. while Dan played his original song "Autumness". It still brings tears to my eyes when I listen to that song...such an incredible soundtrack to the best moment of our lives so far! We also told our photographer we wanted to do as many photos before the ceremony as possible because we didn't want to miss Dan and Lance live during cocktail hour!
