Great service, great price, great food. What more would you want? This is a hole in the wall right outside Yarmouth center. Tons of locals come here b/c throughout the meal, I kept hearing ppl Greet each other. I think we were the only visitors.
At first, it was a little surprising that a bakery served seafood, but I guess that's how it is here. This particular restaurant is not only good at baking, but also frying and anything else really. We had the fried haddock along with the fried clams. The coating was light and not greasy. The fish was cooked just to the right point and was so fresh that I could barely fork it! The clams were one of the best we've ever had. We also ordered the lobster roll and the hot lobster sandwich. The roll was mistake; we wanted to try the typical cold lobster roll. Our orders were basically the same dish, but one was the lobster cream inside two white slices vs a toasted bun. You can get the cold mayo version in the US, so we were more than happy to polish the second one. Actually, we preferred the roll, since toasting it added more bite to the dish. I've been eating seafood chowder throughout the maritimes, so could not leave without having it here. Unfortunately, this dish tasted like watery fish juice and can definitely be ignored for any of the other items we ordered. All the food I mentioned was just for the two of us. I felt bad that I could not finish the veggies, fries, or the creamish broth of the chowder...but I had to have room for the coconut cream pie! Everyone ordered this and the lemon one. I can't imagine any improvement on this pie was possible. The flavor was well balanced with the texture. Not too sweet at all.
Our waitress was perky and so helpful. She had explained to us that the lobster roll was hot and the same dish as the hot sandwich, but we forgot. She checked up on us frequently, and most importantly, did not judge our gluttony:) if you do not stop here, you are making the gravest mistake of your trip, b/c this is the best restaurant of our trip. read more
