I was passing by a few days ago after picking up my girlfriend from work and she wanted a snack. We were close and driving by so we went into the park. We ordered a poutine each and although small (1/3 of Kalen's in Digby) it was good enough to eat. They are stingy on ketchup so ask for extra if you eat here. Before we could finish our orders both staff came out the back of the bus and sat on a table only a few feet from the propane tanks at the back of the bus. I know there couldn't be a propane leak as there was no explosion, but this is not how you test such a system. I'm not returning here as possibly exploding is just not making me feel warm and fuzzy.

She then said that she didn't have any rice and beans cooked, so she'd give us four tacos instead of three to compensate. Okay, that seemed fair. Then she confessed that she still had to make the tacos, so it would take about 20 minutes, and suggested that we should go sightseeing. Well, we'd already been sightseeing all morning and were ready to eat! Plus we'd spent hours the previous day trying to find this place because she hadn't updated her location for months online, only updating it the morning we placed our order. Even with the new address, it was puzzling to find. The only sign was on the northern perimeter, giving the impression it was the neighbor's driveway that led to the food truck, so we pulled in there initially. The truck is actually tucked parallel to the side of her house, down a long driveway -- so it's essentially hidden from the road unless one really scans the entire property while driving by.  When the order was finally ready, we couldn't charge the meal because her credit system wouldn't read a standard VISA with a chip or a swipe. So be sure you have Canadian currency. There's no place to sit or eat there, so we drove to the national park to eat. The tacos were tasty and a good quality. We particularly liked that the fish wasn't heavily battered. All the other food trucks we've tried across the country are good-to-go when we are, so the food is ready to be cooked or plated, and the order is ready in minutes. This cook/owner needs to rethink her priorities, especially during open hours. If she'd had all of her food ready to be ordered, we wouldn't have cared if she was moonlighting in the compost while she waited for customers.

Being from the city, we have to take advantage when the opportunities present themselves. They strive to be providers of yummy local food and I think they succeed. Fox Hill cheese, Saraj Bakery, Meadowbrook Farms are a few of the local producers that they source from. Their menu has a good variety of options but not so many you can't figure out what to go with. My first experience was the Breakfast Uke - Fox Hill havarti, maple bacon, fried egg, great bread - and it was excellent and whet my appetite for more of this truck! I get hassled by some close to me because apparently I say "this is really good, but maybe a little of ..." the truth is, I do this at times and I will do it here only because the maple bacon is so good I wanted a few strategic drops of maple syrup goodness sprinkle on my Uke. I won't apologize for this, it is what my taste buds told me. My second trip was "The Ukulele"... this is basically a pulled pork grilled cheese! Other than vegetarians, who wouldn't like that! Pork, cheese, great bread, yup all good here. The serve you a "shot" of soup, but is more accurately a "tease" of soup. I love soup! Eating, making it, soups rock. This was a Tomato ans Basil soup and was very good but a 1 oz tease of goodness. Do yourself a favour and track this truck down.
