I'm something of a connoisseur of Baja Fresh locations, it's my favorite taqueria chain. But, as with many taqueria chains, some locations are better than others. This is a mini food court with a Weinerschnitzel Express, a Little Caesar's Express and, of course, a Baja Fresh Express. As such, this has a more limited menu and is set up more similarly to a Chipotle than your typical Baja Fresh. Amusingly, between me and the lady who constructed my burrito, one of us was familiar with the regular Baja Fresh menu. I had her put together a Baja Burrito (chicken, rice, cheese, guac, hold the pico). Surprisingly, it actually tasted almost as good as a regular Baja Fresh burrito! They did not have my prized mango salsa, but improvised with their green salsa and a couple of Panda Express sweet and sour packets we picked up earlier in the trip (McDonald's sweet and sour should work just as well). One more note, I came in just before closing so the lady behind the counter was DONE. She did her duty but forgot some of the extra sides I ordered like salsa and Pronto Guacamole. I don't expect much from gas station restaurants but this place sucks...it's still a franchise and this location needs to have some standards. I agree with several of the Yelpers here. The food was somewhat bland and didn't seem fresh which is ironic because that's literally in the name. The worst thing was the one employee who was rude AF to me. She skimped out on the meat compared to the people in front of me and when I asked for more she tried to charge me extra. I had to call her out on it. She's the only reason it's a 1star. Stopped here to get some quick lunch on the way to Los Angeles. It is located in the Valero Gas Station along with a little Caesar and a foster freeze. The prices are not posted which I found suspect and by the time you order your meal, you will end up with a $14 tostado salad. Stopped for gas on the oligopoly known as Hwy 5 to find yet another price gouging establishment. This Baja Fresh franchise should be investigated by the parent company for bad business practices. The prices weren't posted, at least not easily seen. (County Weights & Meaures please take a look). My kid got a bowl with about 5oz of meat, some tasteless rice and a few shreds of lettuce. $18 before tax. He was still hungry. We got some tacos. 3 people. $70 for bad airport version of Baja. Super bad service. We told staff the rice is super dry so will you please serve rice from new batch. She put old super dried crispy rice on top of new batch of rice and serve the bowl. I usually like Baja Fresh so stopped here while road-tripping. Manager is by the food not wearing a mask. Food tastes not fresh. I asked for them to cut my burrito in half - they wouldn't and gave me a plastic knife to do it myself, somehow in the car I guess. Wouldn't give me chips and salsa unless I asked multiple times even though I bought multiple meals. No sour cream available. If it's a busy travel day, they pack people in multiple lines, not wearing masks, along with people eating. Will make a point of staying away next time. read more

Honestly, not much to say or complain about when it comes to rest stop and Road tripping food. It's one of the few options available, and I think they did OK with the burrito. Lots of chicken, although not well seasoned, Watery lettuce, and somewhat bland rice. But there were a lot of beans and rice and chicken, and the pico the Gallo was refreshing. We stopped at Panoche Rd to stretch our feet and grab a quick bite to eat after having driven to southern Ca and back. We chose Baja Fresh and got the carnitas nachos with everything on them. It was a generous portion and was enough to fill two people up. The carnitas were very flavorful and tender. The toppings were very fresh. Those nachos were bomb and we are glad we have Baja Fresh a try. We will definitely stop there again in the future. read more

We stopped here on our way back from a baseball game and had high hopes since we love Baja Fresh. The moment we walked in it smelled like bathroom cleaner, employees were in their own world talking to eachother not even greeting us or at the very least saying "we'll be right with you in a moment." Instead we waited for a while before being asked what we would like. Everything looked unclean, you could at least wipe it down and get rid of the old food when making our burrito. The woman making our food seemed like she didn't want to be there. And to top it all off, the lettuce looked not fresh and brown we didn't even bother to get it. in general I love this place , but they have two problems I hope the general manager or the owner of the store will see my text and they will fix it , sometimes beef steak it's overcooked and it doesn't taste good but I believe they have good meat but the person who's cooking it sometimes make it overcook , also they don't manage the amount of onion and cilantro that they should make it daily to be fresh and tasty but unfortunately I believe workers there they make very large amount of onion and cilantro so they have to keep it for days , if I was a manager over there I would ask them to be careful off how long they cooked the beef and I would ask them to make onion and cilantro daily so it will be fresh every day , today when I got my burrito I could feel my onion and cilantro was for maybe two days ago onions were colorless you know what I'm talking about, and my steak was over , in my opinion owner of the store should take step to manage all this read more

Definitely the best option at a rest stop. Probably the freshest food compared to other fast food options here. This Baja Fresh needs to get checked. 'Not fresh at all. If this is the one with the Weinerschitzel and Little Cesars - They are Not fresh at all. My chips were mixed with realllly old chips (terrible taste). The pico de gallo looked "Dead" due to sitting out for tooooo long. The sad part was that she put out new Pico de Gallo after I paid. Like what others say, it's good enough when you've been starving for hours and this is the only stop in the area. Store was dirty and the employees were unprofessional, it's a restaurant of 3 different fast food but ran by the same employees it was a weird set up.
