We love the steak poblano bowl, fish tacos and the shrimp appetizer, those dishes stood out we returned and enjoyed several times

I stumbled upon Baja Tacos while browsing Yelp for a lunch spot and was immediately drawn in by a picture of some birria tacos and decided this was the place for me. When I arrived, I found a nice crisp, clean decor and good space. I ordered the quesabirria tacos and they came out quicker than I could have expected. I barely had time to start enjoying the chips and salsa! The tacos were delicious and just what I needed. The server was attentive and friendly. Will definitely keep this place on my list if I'm back in the area. read more

Baja Tacos has to be one of the best places to get tacos from in the quad cities. I stop there after searching for tacos near me and after I seen the reviews I decided to go. As I walked in I was greeted by the waitress and was seated near the windows. It was a nice view because the sun was going down and they were close to closing for tonight. The service was great and our food came out fast and everything was correct in the order. We were giving chips and salsa as soon as we sat down and it was on the house. Which is always nice. I ordered the steak tacos with chorizo added and they cooked and make my tacos the way I wanted it. The corn shell was a plus and they were fresh. My fiancé ordered the birria tacos and after taking a bite of hers I have to say hands down the best Birria tacos I ever had from a restaurant. Made me wish I would have ordered that lol. To start, went at lunchtime and was busy which was nice. My wife got the three Asada Tacos and I got one each of Carnitas, aChorizo and Asada. The asada was good and the hand made tortillas made them stand out. The salsa that came with the chips was really good. We were both disappointed with the salsas that came with the tacos, too spicy for both, and we are originally from California and Arizona and my wife is Hispanic so we know spicy. Too spicy and couldn't taste any flavor in them. My other two tacos were disappointing. The carnitas was just cubed pork, it was moist and tender but no flavor or seasoning to it what so ever. The chorizo had an odd texture to it and the flavor was just basic. We will be back but gonna stick to asada and maybe try the Birria. read more

We had a great experience, but we also were there middle of the afternoon (2pm) in a Thursday. It was clean, well staffed and the food was pretty good. We are weary travelers with two small children and this was a great meal for us. Chicken nuggets and fries for the 1 year old, the guacamole appetizer for the 5 year old and hubs and I had the birra taco's. While the flavors were good, nothing specifically amazing. It was hot, clean, decent proportion sizes and the sauces could sneak up On you with the heat. 4 stars for just a few little things- charging $2.99 for a refill on the complimentary chips and salsa, there were about 4 flies by our booth that were annoying, and I would have enjoyed a bit more cilantro and onion on the taco to cut the heavy meet and cheese. We all got the same order, steak burritos so I can't speak for anything but the burritos but I will say they are very good! Based on a sole visit in on a Wednesday evening about 7pm, we are prepared to put this restaurant in our regular rotation. A real margarita, not a mix, not frozen from a box, but actually mixed by a live person with real ingredients that aren't neon colored. Delish! An acceptable selection of domestic and foreign beer. (No comment on the "shots" as we aren't "shot" consumers.) The americanos tacos were crisp, more flavor than most for the most "northern" of palates; a real basic winner. Aaaaand...the quesabirria. Oh my. It was like the best Sunday dinner pot roast melded with what you love best about Mexican food. Fresh cilantro, tasty salsa verde, and this dipping au jus that was divinely inspired. July 4th we sat outside Baja Tacos on public property with hundreds of other families waiting on the Middle Park Fireworks show. We sat there for 2 hours before the show to make sure we got a good spot. As we sat there we talked about going to Baja Tacos for dinner to try them out because we had never heard of them before. Shortly before the fireworks show, a large group of people sitting directly outside Baja Tacos accumulated a large collection of large fireworks. The man who appeared to be in charge was wearing a Baja Tacos t-shirt. Turns out he is the OWNER. They started setting off large fireworks 5 feet away from where my family, with 2 kids, had been sitting for 2 hours. The fireworks were being set off in the Hungry Hobo drive through. Not only are these large fireworks loud, but they're a danger to be set off that close to people, and the smoke was choking everyone out, including our youngest with asthma. My mother in law went over to talk to this group and I followed. She was polite and asked them to please move away from everyone with the fireworks. She turned to walk away. The owner started running his mouth so I said my kid can't breathe, she has asthma, and to not set them off so close to us. Afterwards I took some pictures to show the fireworks and who was setting them off. Look at the multiple employees standing there with their Baja tacos shirts while another kid flips me off. Great representation for this company!!! They continued to set them off. The last one they set off was a HUGE one that shot debris out in a large circle. This one they set about 15 feet behind us, 5 feet away from another family. The parents of the other family and myself both went over there yelling at them to stop! They started laughing and yelling back. A woman said 'this is his property and he can kick you off and do what he wants'. And then got mad that I was recording and may have got bystanders in my video. But they weren't concerned about bystanders being possibly harmed by their fireworks. If this is how little he cares about the public, especially children, I'd be really concerned about how clean their kitchen is, or where they are sourcing their ingredients!!!! read more

I tried the Al pastor tacos and cheese dip, and i have to say these were the worst tacos and cheese I've ever had. There was no flavor what so ever it tasted like nothing. Hubby and I went there tonight and it was bad. The queso dip had no flavor, was runny as all get out from the grease from the chorizo. The salsa needed a lot of salt as it was bland. The tacos we ordered were dry and cold. The only good thing there was the one and only waitress running around trying to wait on all the tables herself.
