Baker Vision was able to squeeze me in for an emergency appointment, after I was diagnosed with shingles on my face at a nearby local clinic. I'm not an Oregon resident, but I was in Baker for work, and was at the tail-end of my trip, traveling home the following day. My mind was all over the place, but the office staff was friendly, professional and efficient, which made me feel more at ease. They offered to send the records of my visit to my primary care doctor back home, as well as my eye doctor. Something I wouldn't have thought of until later. My visit was with Dr. Elms, who is calm, warm and knowledgable. She made me feel very comfortable, as well as confident in her shingles expertise. I felt looked after like a mother would her child, she showed genuine care and concern. She told me about how the nerves ran, and she cautioned me about how things could progress and worsen, and what to watch out for in the coming days. I am not happy with Baker Vision. I had to take my glasses in twice this last two months and both times I received poor customer service from the employee fixing my glasses. My glasses got wrapped up in my blankets and got out of whack. So took them in and asked if they could tweek them back for me. So they took them to the back and about 20 minutes later the employee walks out and just hands them to me and was about to walk away. I was like uh.. could we go and sit down and look in the mirror to make sure that they fit and look right? So we did and as I was looking at my glasses and I noticed that my glasses had marks on them. I pointed them out to her and the first thing she said was all our tools have a soft tip on them. I was like there were no scratches on them when I gave them to you. My glasses got out of whack from being wrapped up in blankets when I took them off in bed to read and forgot about them. No way blankets scratched them plus I look at my glasses every day since I where them! So Baker Vision replaced the frames. Two months later one of my nose pieces fell off. I went in and they went to put on new ones. Well again same employee from last time brought them out. At least this time she asked if they were comfortable and yes they were. But I had to ask are they straight do they look even? This is the first vision place that does not make you feel like they care at all. All other places I have gone to for the past 30 years always takes you to sit down. Look at the mirror and make adjustments if needed before you leave. Not this place! So I left looked in my mirror in my car and the nose pieces were HUGE . I had enough went straight to another vision place here in town. Before I said anything I asked them about how my glasses looked. Know what they said? The nose piece stands out and they are going past the bottom part of your framed. So that answered my question about the quality of customer service at baker vision. The other place replaced my nose piece and sat me down and made adjustments as needed. read more

Baker Vision Clinic in little Baker City, Oregon is by far the best Vision Clinic in the entire State of Oregon‼ They have the most up to date, State of Art Equipment for their Customers I have ever seen. Thank Goodness, Several years ago, On a fluke, I decided to try out a new test at the Baker Vision Clinic for Macular Degeneration, Thinking my eyes were fine.. they werent, I had moderate "Mac D"‼ Dr. Blankenship calmed my fears, saying 10 years ago, when people found out they had Mac D. Without the knowledge they have now, They may have gone blind, but not in this day and age‼ She, her Amazing Colleagues & Friendly, wonderful Staff, have been on a Campaign researching and studying the very best methods in tackling this, and many more vision issues. A very poor and troubling experience. During the exam, I was left in a number of small rooms, two of which, after a considerable amount of waiting, I left and went to the office for help. They did not seem to remember that I was in them. I have laying in a drawer a $560 pair of glasses do not that hold their adjustment settings. Lastly, I was to come in and swap out monthly lenses for a set of two week lenses. When I told them that I was happy with what I was wearing, I went through a wrestling match over fittings of the ones that I was wearing. One of the staff members was very rude. read more
