I have been going here regularly for the better part of five years. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago was my very last time going to this laundromat. Recently it seems like management has neither the willingness nor the capacity to clean the mold out of their washing machines. It's a noticeable and unmistakable odor than you can smell as soon as you open the door to the washing machines. But you may figure, "Well, I'm washing my clothes with soap and water, and then subsequently drying them at high heat. This should help alleviate any hint of lingering mold." But you would be so so regrettably wrong. Here's why... Before my last trip to this laundromat (I like to use the large machines), I noticed that the machine started the cycle, but with what could only be described as a minimal amount of water. Barely enough for clothes to get wet but not enough for them to get clean. The cycle finished and my clothes were moist and soapy. Obviously not clean. I complained to the staff who then went to get who I would assume was one of the owners (unsure). She was combative but ultimately agreed to another wash. Because obviously... the clothes weren't clean. The very next visit there were signs all over the machines saying that NO REWASHES will be given and to not put too much soap in the machines because then it's your fault. So at that point you can either choose between moldy clothes, or moldy soapy clothes. That's what those signs are saying. What type bullcrap is that? The type of bullcrap that lets me know that the proprietors value neither their customers nor do they value selling an honest product. Put some water on my clothes please when I'm paying you $15/load. And to be perfectly frank, I am tired of people coming into my neighborhood and feeling so comfortable about cheating hard working people out of the services that they pay for. This is truly a laundry mat of the future. I thought Supersuds was good. This is far, far better. First of all it's big, it's bright and it's clean. But let me get to the real good stuff. You can pay directly at the machine using your credit or debit card AND your free dry will still work. It doesn't have to be tied to your laundry card. I used my debit card, paid 6.29 for my wash and all three of my dry cycles were free. Speaking of the laundry card you can still get that (costs 1.00) and pre load it with money. You can ALSO register your card and get a new one if you lose it. You will still have to pay a dollar but the laundry mat will reload your card with whatever the balance was so you won't lose your money too. Isn't that great? There are even instructions on the wall telling you step by step how to operate the machines with your phone. Of course!! That's the next logical step. I will be trying that out on my next visit. They also have at least four different washer sizes and two different size dryers. This is major people. MAJOR. But wait there's more. Remember the days when you ran out of detergent or just foolishly forgot it and had to get that dreaded, tiny little cardboard box of sandlike stuff? Update: 3rd and FINAL time: Clothes weren't as neatly folded as before but still got the job done. The convenience was still worth it. However, when I went to put away my clothes I noticed 2 of my items had been bleached so hard that they changed colors! A white dress with black stripe was now red stripe and a black and white plaid shirt was now red and white. In my other bag I found a dead insect at the bottom! I understand mistakes happen but what really got me, is I tried emailing customer service through their website and no one contacted me back, EVER! I will not be returning for certain! 2nd time: I took my very expensive comforter, duvet and quilt as my apt washer/dryer is too small to handle. Went for pick and it took them a little more than 10 minutes to find my bag. They did not tag the item correctly and it was under someone else's name. I had to visually scan through the all bags to explain to the attendant which one could be my bag. This is my 1st wash fold experience ($35) and it was so good I might use it routinely even when my washer gets fixed (waiting for a piece to be delivered). I was really nervous and hated the fact that someone else was washing your clothes. But I went anyway. Went there brining my own tide detergent not knowing they provided everything lol. They use gain and bounce sheets for your clothes. I dropped off 3 large bags: clothes, about 8 towels, and 3 sets of sheets. The drop off process is easy. She weighs your stuff on the counter while in the bags. She tells you about what time you can come pick them up, you pay and leave, EASY. I came back the next day and everything was neat and compactly folded in plastic bags ready to go. I did a grab and go literally less than 2 minutes. Got home everything was perfect all I had to was put them away. Although it seems kind of pricey, to me it's worth it. I'd definitely use them again...maybe next week! read more

This is definitely one of the better laundromats I've been to. It's a 24 hour place! They offer drop off service, dry cleaning and the facility for washing. The drop off service was great when I was pregnant only thing is the cost is by the weight of your clothes. It could get pricey if you have a lot! This is a cash less place meaning you use your laundry card for purchasing washing cycles. They have change machines and a bill breaker machine which is great. There's vending machines for detergents, fabric softeners and bags if needed. Only thing I would say can improve is the cleaning of the floors. Sweeping is essential especially with the dryer dust and sheets falling frequently. Also, the best times to go is early in the AM so you can be in and out. read more

It's been a few years since I've been back to this laundromat and it will be many more years before I come back. When you walk in there is a very weird smell that hits, point 1. Then once I'm in and begin loading my washer I notice the floor is a mess, alot of the washer are dirty and look like they have not been wiped down in days. Then l see clothes and used detergent bottles left on top of machines, and it looks like clothes have also been left in many dryers andnwashers. This place has truly gone down hill. It seems as if the owner no longer care like they did when it first opened. It's kinda sad since it is one of the local laundromats but it is not the only. Im sure I wont be back and if you read this try this place only as a last last resort. read more

I applied for part time employment here. Within a week, I'd received a phone call with interview date and time. I had the interview and was told I would be contacted. I missed the call,but was told they are not doing any hiring at the time. I had the worst experience this morning at baker's Laudromat. I witness the so called manager humiliate and emasculate an employee for no apparent reason. She claimed that the establishment was not clean which was a false statement. I expressed my discontent for her unprofessional behavior toward her subordinate and all she had to say it that she is the manager. I contacted the owner Larry but received a return call from his wife Gale. I expressed to Gale the event that took place at her establishment and how I would not be a return customer. Gale did not seemed too concern about the managers behavior and keep defending the poor behavior the manager exhibit this morning. I informed Gale that I would be writing a review on "YELP" and I could not believe what happen next. Gale the owner blatantly tried to bribe me with washer and dryer credits to not write a review on "YELP" because the review would be permanently on the website. She dated that there was already a negative review posted and did not want another. What kind of owner would insist to a customer not to be honest. A wise owner would have been smart enough to appreciate a customer informing them of the kind of poor behavior their employees are exhibiting and correct the problem with training. After speaking to the owner I see why the manager thinks it is okay to act poorly in front of customer she is just emulating her bosses behavior. An establishment that would bribe their customers is not an establishment worth patronizing. Gale you should be ashamed of you and your employee behavior. Do not go to this wash & fold place on 2820 Roberts ave. they are located in the Fox Shopping Center across from ShopRite.. I took all my clothes there and had them washed in folded. When I want to pick them up all of my clothes were stolen. My children's clothes were the but all of my clothes except for bras were gone. I was told by the attendant that I would be refunded my money and then the mangers Gale & Larry which they refused to give a last name called me from a blocked number and told me they were not refunding my money. And they believed their attendants. I took the same police back up there they then changed the story and said that they were not coming in. They were the managers and they were not refunding my money.... All of my belonging jeans, shirts, dresses, shirts were all stolen:.. I now have NO clothes... Place do Not patronize this place.. So I went to this laundromat because it was the only place open before 7 a.m. in my neighborhood. I loaded my clothes into the machine and everything went down hill from there. Total cost to wash both loads $16.00 I had 20's and 10's a few dollar coins. Change machine "out of order" so I asked the cashier for 1 dollar bill in exchange for my dollar coin. Well she didnt have any cash. Pretty useless then I said well I'll use my debit card 10, 20 or 30 dollar options. Already knew I wasn't coming back to this place so none of those options suited me. Lets try atm machine or vending machine epic fail ended up going to shoprite to get change for 20. As I was loading my clothes into the dryer I hit my head on the card reader. Not smart idead to have object sticking outward when people have to bend over to load clothing into lower machine. I'm completely done with this place. First and last time... NEVER USE THE LAUNDRY DROP OFF SERVICE. My clothes were STOLEN and replaced with someone elses clothes. I've tried contacting for a refund and they LIED saying the owner was out of town even though 40 minutes prior to that an attendant said Larry was there changing the vending machine. I experience a bad situation this morning March 5th 2016 the manager came and slamming washer dryers arguing with her co worker notice. I said she was the manager also being rude to the customers that was in the store she had the audacity to punch out and leave and leave her coworker did that had already did 16 hours is she supposed to still have her job, I'm just wondering when the next time, I go if I'll still see her there if so there is something definitely wrong. I'm not much for laundromats (I'll leave the reason why up to your imagination), but I felt this one stood out among the few that I've been to over the years. The staff all have cheerful attitudes, they keep the place in good shape, and it's certainly the most modern laundromat I've seen yet. They run on a cashless system, which may or may not be a plus depending on your preference/circumstance. They offer the typical amenities including free wi-fi, TV, vending machines, and so on. The largest machine is $9.99 per load, so I can't say for sure whether that's a decent value but the free dryer use at least offsets costs somewhat. They also have dry cleaning, which my husband is a fan of since prices are pretty low. read more

I've been looking for another laundromat, however this one was a little out of my area. I live in University City. I was looking for a new laundromat because the one in my neighborhood,the hot water was never hot. So I called Bakers Centre laundry and asked if their water was hot. The young man that answered the phone assured me that it was. So I drove from University City to this laundromat. The first thing that I did before even taking my clothes out of the car, Was to go to the sink and turn on the hot water. It was very hot. I felt at that moment that I found A new laundromat. Since I've been going to this laundromat, I've met some very nice attendants. All of them were nice and helpful, I don't know all of their names but I do know Kaleem, Ken, Erica and Davida. What I like most about these people, is that they understand that the customer is the most important person. So if you're looking for a laundromat that would give you great customer service and HOT WATER, Try Baker Centre laundry. read more

I used this service in Roberts ave today. I was a first time customer visiting from the uk and decided to use your facilities. I was served by a very lovely lady called Charleton. Who had great customer service skills and was very helpful to me at 12.54pm I later returned at 5pm to collect my washing. I needed to use the rest room as my 4 year old son was about to wet himself. Upon entering the building I asked where the toilets where at the reception desk. I was pointed to the back of the store. When I had realised you needed some type of card to use the rest room I approached the reception desk to be confronted by an angry Spanish lady who wasn't concerned about my son needing to use the rest room. She just kept shouting at me I needed a card to use the rest room. I told her I was a paying customer holding my recipe. My friend who had put his name down on the account tried to speak to this lady in Spanish believing there was a language barrier. She still continued to be rude would not listen to the fact that we where first time customers and didn't know you needed a card. My point being that this lady was more concerned with using words like fuck you instead of opening the rest room and explaining how we where able to get the card afterwards. My child went onto pee his pants and I walked out of the building. I was so embarrassed how your staff member treated me I went back into the building to ask for her name and was treated by more fuck you and was told to get out of the building otherwise she will call the police. I told her that there was no need for her to use bad language like she had done especially as there we're children about. I am deeply disappointed in your service. After waiting 5 hours for my laundry it still wasn't available and I'm now to scared to pick it up because of the aggressive behaviour of your staff. I don't think this behaviour is acceptable and could have been resolved easily had this lady been trained in customer service. I'm not sure where to go from here but I don't feel this is acceptable especially in front of a 4 year old. The company does not reply to Facebook messages, web site messages!! Poor service, aggressive staff and head office clearly don't care. Do not use this service my strong advice to the public.
