On my last Saturday morning visit I thought "hang it" I'm going to treat myself and my daughter to a covid cookie and we decided upon the large chocolate chip variety. Once outside we broke open the cookie bag with much anticipation and hoping for a fudgy centred delight...sadly there was no delight to be had as the cookies were as hard as hockey pucks..no kidding .. they were absolutely impenetrable, it was like trying to bite into a discus and I feared my front teeth were going to fly out of my head if I persevered with the challenge any longer ! The service is always lovely and there's no shortage of customers lining up on a Saturday morning...but please Ocean Bakehouse can you please refresh those lethal cookies ?!.

As soon as we entered the store, we were presented with poor customer service. Regretfully, we decided to place our order of 3 coffees and 3 hot pastries totalling $26. The coffees were decent, save seeing a cockroach crawling on the paper coffee cups. The pastries, however, were severely undercooked and as we bit into it it was completely and utterly cold (not even lukewarm - thankfully they were only spinach and feta). We took it back and the only action they took was to reheat the food we has bitten into. 8 minutes later, we decided to try again. This time, they were overcooked. What the employee failed to do was check the temperature of the food with a thermometer. Thankfully it wasn't chicken or other meat. On top of it all, no remedies were given to us, not even an apology from either woman. If you do decide to go here, make sure to bring a thermometer to make sure you don't get sick from the food. Also make sure to also check if cockroaches aren't crawling inside your coffee cup. I've never made a complaint about a store before, but putting this to the attention of potential customers is important as it poses a serious health risk. It would have been fine if they did apologise for their mistake and offer a remedy - but it did not even seem like they thought it was a mistake. Be wary if you choose to come here.

What's not to love about this place?…read more The bread is awesome. The staff friendly & know their products. Oh. One complaint. They don't do their focaccia's on weekends anymore. Boo to that. Love love love Iggy's!!! Thursday's are my favourite where the Serbian lady makes her pita. Apple, sauerkraut, pumpkin & feta, spinach & feta & whatever else this beautiful lady comes up with. I'll taste everything of hers!!! Although Iggys aren't officially open on Mondays, there's work going on and the doors are open. There's leftover bread which is sliced. Cost is half price + slicing & packaging fee. There's an honesty box for you to leave your money in there. Other products are available for purchase. Best of all, the staff are happy to chat to inform customers on What's happening. I feel so fortunate to be able to live so close and small it a go-to local. Sooooo unpretentious. They do a range of croissants, egg tarts, chicken puff, coconut cream, bacon, twin sausage bun among many other things. They are basically a copy of Top Bread but a little cheaper and maybe not as good. A friend of mine bought me one of their sponge cakes. The sponge was chocolate and it was very moist and tasty. The texture is very light compared to normal sponge so makes it an easy mid morning or light snack. Overall I probably would choose a traditional bakery if I wanted a piece of cake but this place would suffice if your in a rush and want something quick and convenient. The store is open later then most traditional bakeries so it could make it an ideal place for a late night binge.

Although Sonoma has done well to create a good vibe, the meals we ordered fell short off the mark.
