If I had to pick a "comfort spot" in Lancaster County, Zig's would win every time. This place is…read moreone of my favorite lunch stops, the kind where you walk in already knowing exactly what you're ordering because it never misses. I get the tuna melt every single time, and listen... their tuna is unreal. Perfectly seasoned, not too mayo-heavy, toasted just right it's basically my emotional support lunch at this point. I also never skip the seasonal drink special. Today's was the apple chai-der and it was so cozy and delicious. Their drink specials always feel like you're sipping the current season through a mug. Zig's also has an entire cooler/freezer wall packed with soups, applesauce, and grab-and-go meals. My all-time favorite soup is the Tomato Pepper Jack absolutely phenomenal. If you see it, grab two. Trust me. The bakery case? Dangerous. Cupcakes, pies, whoopie pies, parfaits... it's basically dessert heaven behind glass. And then there's my holy grail: the Buffalo Cauliflower. It's a rare find, and when I spot it I buy it in full apocalypse-prep quantities. No regrets. Between the rustic vibe, great coffee, incredible baked goods, and comfort-food lunches, Zig's is one of those places you keep coming back to because it just feels good and tastes even better. Highly recommend!

My husband ate almost the entire shepherds pie by himself...he was hungry and it's good. I just finished eating a chocolate mint cupcake that was so tasty. Their chocolate croissants are fabulous as well. Service was friendly and speedy yesterday. I was there at 4pm so I have found they are less busy at that time of day when I want to buy things to take home. If I lived closer to Zig's I would probably be there more often, but as it is, I am still thankful it's only a 30 minute drive from my home.

They even give you a piece of pretzel dough so you can learn how pretzels were made back in the day. The presentation room can get pretty warm since the ovens are running. I was surprised to learn that you don't get to eat the pretzel you make--they only give you a pretzel-shaped bag as a keepsake. If you want fresh pretzels, you can buy them in the gift shop afterward. There's a small parking lot on the side as well as street parking. Overall, it's a good experience and a fun way to spend some time if you're nearby.

Charlie, our tour guide made the history of pretzel & Sturgis family interactive, fun well learning history of oldest pretzel bakery. My favorite part of the tour was viewing the old style kitchen and oven. I love how the bakery stayed within the family. For me, visiting there production factory of other well known pretzels, felt like a piece of puzzle; into pretzel history. The tour itself $6, 1/2 hour long, 150 year old bakery, where the soft pretzel are still made. The decor, pretzel tree, and products were sold, with soft pretzels, made in house , and option to get cheese on the side. Side note: The location in Reading, PA , connected to bakery , has a catalog, to order pretzels, pretzel tins etc.. A must visit for Lancaster PA, on everyone list.

Cookies are displayed on the counter and on a digital board with an explanation of each. The staff did a great job describing the many options they had- 14 that day! We also met the owner while there. She was incredibly nice and let us know about the business and what she hopes to add in the future. Very passionate about the business. We took home a dozen cookies but didn't try them until the next day. Each one was fresh, soft and not lacking on ingredients. They are so good! So much better than Taylor Chip and Crumbl- I don't like either. Can't wait to go back!

No excuse for the deli to open without their best items available, good mangement for the deli would not let that happen. You shouldn't have excuses, you should have what your customers come to like and no excuses regardless of the day before or after a holiday. I prefer Karns for a lot of things from the deli, meatloaf when available for sandwiches, I greatly enjoy the hot foods, and the soups, the meat dept for a fine selection of meats, I especially like the stuffed pork chops and stuffed chicken breast, great baked goods especially the whoppy pies and the hot soups, and the already to eat chicken and other items from the hot food deli.
