Dr. A has been my primary care doctor since she came to Fremont in 1997. She always listens to my concerns and provides helpful solutions for me and my husband. She does timely referrals and got me an appoint that I had been unable to get, She is easy to talk to and asks the right questions. She did follow up phone appts from my husband's emergency visits. Her office staff is on top of things and her assistants are an asset to her practice. She gave me several things to work on before my next visit. The whole experience was nothing short of a nightmare. The doctor doesn't even want to listen to your issues. I went to her to address a bunch of issues I was experiencing and ended up not even addressing a single one of them. She had like three-four interns or something in the exam room. One of them gave me a physical exam while the room door was open and these 3-4 of them still present. My consent to have them was never done. The doctor was busy the entire time talking to them with her back against me. Left the office traumatized and ended up crying in the car.. Do yourself a big favor and find some other Primary care. She has been my primary care physician for the past 14 years, and I've referred both friends and family to her practice--each of whom has had only positive experiences to share. Last year, when I mentioned feeling unusually tired, Dr. Annadurai ran a thorough set of tests and promptly diagnosed me with hypothyroidism. She ensured timely follow-up and referred me to an endocrinologist without delay. Thanks to her proactive care, I've been able to manage my condition effectively since then. More recently, I needed some paperwork urgently submitted to a third-party vendor. Her office was, as always, prompt and meticulous in preparing and delivering the documentation on time. my first appointment was great and i was so impressed, the doctor was calm and composed and listened to me patiently coz i was new patient. I was referred to a cardiologist and was prescribed to go through so many tests, but on second appointment doctor wasn't prepared at all. They didn't even know why i was there. We only went in for regular check ups, but Dr. Annadurai emailed me a day later when the results from the blood test became available. She seemed very diligent, capable, and caring to me. I usually don't write reviews all the time. But Bala earned it, specially as a complicated patients she solved my multiple health issues sent me to the right specialist. I have been Dr. Bala's patient since 2018, she diagnosed me properly and sent me the right specialist at the right moment when I was severely sick. Bala's reference and doctor recommendation is an outstanding experience specifically when in California you can't get the specialist appointment as soon as possible, her reference worked really fast. One important thing is her actions for urgency, for existing patients she gives her time no matter of her business. She understands patients urgency, prescribed the right medicine n treats with care. I'm astonished with her treatment quality especially when she saved my life, cured me at the worst moment by taking fast action. She takes a variety of insurance. This review is only for front desk or receptionist. I wanted to go see this doctor cos I found good reviews about her on Yelp but ending up disappointment with the front desk. So couldn't make an appointment. The front desk ask me about "something" insurance which I never heard and hard to understand with her impatience tone of voice when I called to make an appointment. However, she took my number down and gave me a call back. I believe it was different person from earlier when they called back. She asked what kind of insurance I have. I mentioned everything I saw on my insurance card. She said "no you have to call the number on your insurance card and ask them." I replied I called them already and the doctor is on my provider list. She is like " that's not how it works you have to call the insurance company and ask." So I couldn't make an appointment. Right after having calls with this clinic. I have to contact to other hospital to make an appointment with my same insurance card information that I know. And I could able to make an appointment smoothly. Found out that my insurance card is not a problem. I would like to suggest that the front desk, receptionist or authorized nurse should be more patient and qualified at this place. read more

I sought the medical advice of Dr Bala Annadurai over my deteriorating Covid 19 symptoms on June 30, 2022 and was categorically advised I was infected with Covid 19, for which, she prescribed me with anti viral pills to be taken immediately for 5 days. On June 27, I took an antigen quick Covid 19 test and tested NEGATIVE. On June 29, 2022, I took another Covid 19 test and this time it was a PCR and result is on pending. Today, July 3Rd my 6th day, the pain in my throat starts weaning off. Should I describe the pain feels like there is glass shards stuck in my throat. I'm on the mend now and thanks to Dr Annadurai whom I call for medical advice and prescriptions outside of clinic hours including weekends. Excellent doctor and she is a IIteral family doctor. BTW. She sexually abused me while doing a Breast examination. I was sitting up and she squeezed and pulled each Breast and her female assistant put her hand down the back of my pants between my skin and underpants. I said "what are you doing ?" and Dr. Annaduri told the other female to Leave and she did. I have Fibrocystic Breasts so I'm scared of cancer. I'm going to report this to the proper medical people. how can i say all this ....ok here goes dr b is my primary care dr .. id had sevral surgeries this year aortic anurism repair kidney stones any ways ...it was after the kidney surgery with stent i started falling down and not doing well .. i had a batch of dr appointments this particular week... the last of wich was dr bala ...... i get to her office i need to be wheeled in in a wheelchair.. she goes over my records..then she says david u really look like shit .. im sending you to the er ... i will call and ambulance or u drive but ur going im like ok ( reluctant) i had full blown sepsis im guessing stage 2 from kidney surgery... out of all my drs dr bala is the one that picked up on i was sick none of my other drs did ....she basically saved my life that day stage 3 sepsis isnt good it is permanent damage to organs and then death sepsis ,,,blood poisoning and it was from my left kidney.. so what do i think of dr b ........u guys figure it out ..i do know she saved my ass read more

I felt very rushed by Dr Bala. This office is very chaotic, there is always a nurse present with doctor both checks on you and make things worse.Ideally the nurse should go out when the doctor arrives to maintain the privacy of the patient but she stays there n both do not understand what's going on with the patient..Dr Bala is only interested in typing in the computer n hardly does any eye contact. she has a worst bedside manners, never gives complete information, its on the patient to ask questions otherwise nothing..I am highly highly disappointed with such a lack of health care from this office.They lack everything.Get some empathy n look at the patient sitting in front if you , both nurse n doc were so busy looking n typing on the computer n hardly any interest in dealing with the actual patient. read more

She is thorough in her examinations and made sure I was vaccinated in a timely fashion. She is caring, compassionate, friendly and professional. You're supposed to go to the Drs and feel like you're being helped, to feel like your health is someone's priority. Unfortunately, I did not feel this here. I had a virtual appointment where Dr Bala was totally unprepared with the results of the multiple tests they had me take. I sat there on hold while they scrambled to figure what had happened. Instead I was asked to come in person later in the day, totally defeating the purpose of a virtual check in. Initially I agreed. I got off the call and resumed to my day only to be called multiple times back to back trying to collect a co-pay for my mornings appointment. Did they just forget they had already asked me to come in that same day? This shows a lack of communication in the clinic. Better humanitarian than physician!! I've been a patient of this doctor for years. Her best qualities are referring you to other doctors and supporting medical assistant students. You must do your own research and advocacy. Her knowledge of medicine is minimal. Not solid in anything. She partners with a local school for office worker's; labor is cheap, turnover is high. So to ensure accuracy patients must recap all comments after each visit as the possibility to engage the same person twice is unlikely. We certainly need good Sam's but we also need skilled doctors if "Dr" precedes their name. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Bala for 20 years when she took over the office of dr Faith Wells , my wonderful primary care doctor. I am so pleased with Dr Bala's care that i have been with her eversince. She is extremely efficient in her treatments , and prompt with all the needs of the patients. Since the volume of work station is big, she speaks fast and some new customers might misunderstand her approach to staff, all because of her good heart to take care of every patient with the speed of impatience nowadays of the world. She has wonderful values and treat my senior spouse as her own dad even though with age, he might be moody due to ailments or aging. Dr Bala sees me more than just a client : she is extremely supportive of the patient as a whole ( family/stress/job impact/duty) which i feel "very rare in this day and age for doctors to have that morale and emotional support impacting our physical health directly. Being a very smart doctor and a professional , Dr Bala is even getting better and better in handling difficult treatments ( some of which i think only specialists can attend to ) . In case of serious emergencies, involving my elder spouse , Dr Bala acts so fast to intervene and save his life from a very bad fall , serious at a late age of 90 , a wounded veteran. I visited Dr.Annadurai twice, once for my Mom and once for my dad. Both my parents are visiting from India and they have travelers insurance. The office do not accept traveler's insurance but you can pay out of pocket and reimburse with the receipts provided. The reception staff were pretty good at answering phone calls and try as much to accommodate you on the same day. Dr.Annadurai was accurate on her diagnosis and medicine prescription. Overall we had a great experience and highly recommend them for anyone out there looking for a General physician. read more

This business practice is terrible. Why? Because none of the staff has any brain capacity to pay attention to detail. If you think details of your health are important, don't come here. Below are examples of my terrible experience at this "doctor". 1) This office sent me 1 letter in the mail and 2 phone calls saying they were confused about my primary health insurance. I call them back and tell them who I am and which primary insurance I have. The person who answers has no recollection that there was ever anything wrong with my insurance. WTF were all of those 'urgent' notices about then?? 2) Staff don't greet you when you have been standing in front of the receptionist for 5 minutes while they peruse a lunch menu and debate about what to order online. 3) Can't spell patients' names correctly. 4) The doctor swore she treated me before, even though I clearly told her I was a new patient. She proceeded to ask me about a potential time she could have treated me. Waste of time. She didn't have great bedside manners either. The appointment ended with her talking to me while walking back to her office and yelling the rest of the instructions about my prescription to me. -__- Poor manners, poor service, staff is not knowledgeable about insurance. They even have a notice saying YOU are responsible for knowing your insurance copays and policies, they are not liable for any mistakes. WOW. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. read more

I am surprised to read some of the other reviews on the wait time and quality of service. I have visited this doctor quite a few times and each of the times I have had to wait in the waiting room in paper gown shivering for over 45 minutes to an hour. Yes, I kept a note of the time every single time after having to wait for 55 minutes the very first time I visited the doctors office. And believe me weekdays or Saturdays are same wait times. I have tried middle of the day appointments and same story on the wait time. I have never found any diagnosis very satisfactory. Not surprising as the doctor can hardly spend 5 minutes discussing the problem with me. The doctor has no respect for the patients time nor is there any "I am sorry to make you wait for over 45 minutes" ever. It doesn't really matter what the quality of service is after having to wait this long and the doctor is always in a rush to suggest a medicine and move ahead. I believe that is the most frustrating part, that the doctor generally has no time to even listen to your concerns fully before making a recommendation on the medicine. The front desk staff is really courteous but not sure how many patients are given the same appointment time. Many a times I was directed to a room which didn't even have a proper exam table but some kinda reclining chair where it is not possible to sit for 45 minutes without breaking your back. I believe there is some kind of laser treatment or skin treatment business going on which keeps the schedule extremely tight? I am really curious to find this out. If the doctor makes a patient waiting for 45 minutes and spends only 5 minutes with the patient, what is the doctors schedule really like. Dr. Annadurai has been my family's Primary Healthcare Physician for over 10 years now. Her expertise in her profession and her personal interest in each of my family members is refreshing. Below is an experience I had with Dr. Annadurai. It illustrates what her caring nature "looks like": I was out of town to participated in a cycling event that was out of town. However, I was feeling so much pain. So much that I could not wear my bike helmet. That alone disqualified me from riding in the event. I was desperate because of the pain on my scalp, face and neck was becoming unbearable. called Dr. Annadurai who answered, despite her having already been on-call the previous day. I explained my symptoms. She gave me a preliminary diagnosis of Shingles, and advised me to go to Urgent Care. I packed my bags, checked out of the hotel, and made the 3 hour drive back to Fremont and went straight to Urgent Care. Sure enough, I was diagnosed with Shingles! I sent Dr. Annadurai a brief text of the diagnosis. She texted back that she wanted to see me the next day. asked me to see her the next day to confirm the diagnosis and to provide treatment. I felt validated by Dr. Annadurai because she acknowledged my pain And responded immediately. I am truly impressed by Dr. Annadurai's passion for her profession as a medical doctor. If I could give zero stars I would!! I have been coming to Dr. Annadurai for years, and each time I go she has new staff members! As soon as I get to know them and trust them with all my personal information they disappear. I started to question why?? Needless to say I walked in for my appointment 2 weeks ago and noticed the way Dr. Annadurai was speaking to her staff. It was almost as if she was degrading them. I've never seen a being make such an ugly face towards another! I was shocked to see her raising her voice to the point where she was yelling at these poor girls! She clearly didn't see that I was waiting to be checked in because when she turned towards the front desk her whole demeanor changed, and she was suddenly this nice calm Dr. That all her patients know and love! Dr. Annadurai has been my primary care physician since 2014. She is really good with her diagnosis for common ailments like cough, allergies, cold and burns and very recently she diagnosed a lump in my neck area which turned out to be thyroid cancer. Due to such early diagnosis I was able to get my thyroidectomy done. Dr. Annadurai referred me to Stanford Center for my surgery and later on to an endocrinologist for further treatment. On my first visit with her I was greeted with a cheerful smile, equanimity and the vast knowledge to put me through several lab tests and other diagnostic procedures and referrals. We, my wife, Mary Lou, and I, first met with Dr. Annadurai in 2005, when our regular doctor was moving away from Fremont, CA, and she had taken over her practice. As a family practitioner, Dr. Anna, as we fondly now call her, has provided us outstanding service in a personal way all these years. During these 13 years my wife went through a major cancer surgery and I went through a major heart episode five years back. She helped us through these crises, and other minor ones, over the years, in a way that goes beyond merely providing the degree of care that one would expect from a competent and dedicated physician. She is very responsive to our ongoing medical needs, even allowing us to reach her on weekends for quick consultations as the need arises. I am really disappointed with my experiences with Dr. Annadurai and office. My appointments with her have been late, short, and rushed. I don't feel like I have her full attention and she's always rushed. My first visit with her was a preventative visit, covered 100% by my insurance, but her office didn't put in the preventative code for me and has caused me to spend a lot of extra time calling the labs and my insurance to ensure that this code has gone through. The first time I called Dr. Annadurai's office, they said that they had already given the code. It wasn't until I called both my insurance and the lab to confirm that they hadn't gotten a code that I called back and they then said they would put in the code. I don't know why the code wasn't put it in the first place, or why when I called the 1st time they said they did. It's a lot of wasted time. My 2nd visit was just to review my lab results. I waited an extra 20 minutes past my appointment time for a 5 min meeting with the doctor. read more

Dr. Annadurai has always been there to help out with patients that I encounter, needing help. Some even ignored or abandoned by their own primary physicians!
