Had an appointment booked for over a week and as I was running out of my house to make the appointment on time, I get a call asking if I can come 30 minutes later. I explained that I couldn't come later due to evening conflicts so they cancelled my appointment. Super disappointed in the lack of professionalism, especially since I booked here on the recommendation of my acupuncturist who works in the same space. Time management is important as is my time. I'm now left without a much needed massage at the last minute after having planned out my typically busy evening. I've had the pleasure to know Irma and her services as a massage therapist/ healer for over 5 years. Irma is very calm and open to listen to your body needs. She is gifted and talented and takes such of good care of anyone who is in need of relief of pain, either your pain is physical or emotional. I have just recently got a gestational pregnancy massage( yes! She takes care of moms to be as well) for my first pregnancy and felt such a relief on my lower back pain after she worked on it. I have been going to Irma for a few months and it has been an incredible healing experience. I teach high school and feel very stressed and exhausted but Irma has helped me calm down and find balance and harmony in all aspects of my life. I was referred to Irma by a friend of mine who has been seeing her for the last couple of years. She has been a centering and positive influence for improving my overall health and well being. I went to Irma for the first time today and I was so impressed with my Reiki session. She really took her time to find out what I needed, so the session was truly tailored to me. Irma has a true Gift of Healing. I can only repeat and verify what I see others are saying here but didn't know before I had the experience myself. She is very intuitive and knowledgeable. OMG Irma is amazing!!! I had an agonizing day today with a lot of muscle aches, ligament pain as well as neck and back issues. Irma knew intuitively exactly what areas to work and what I needed most. She is amazingly gifted in massage. My body was a mess two hours ago. And now ... Wow! I have never had a better massage. Getting massage and allowing someone to massage the body is a very personal thing I think. It is inviting someone into my personal space. Irma is absolutely top of the line. She is an extremely nice and caring woman who is very welcoming off the bat. But the truly impressive part about her is her unique gift of massage and relaxation. I personally came to her via referral from a friend because I had a muscle injury (I currently play college football.) After one session I already felt better, loosened up and relaxed. I've been going to her at least once a week for about 2 months now, and have never felt more refreshed and read to play. I have been to multiple massage places around the area and my personal opinion is that you will not find a better massage. Lastly as a testament to the kind of person she is, I go to school on the east coast, far away from home. She personally called around and searched to find a massues who would take over and help me out once I arrived at school, solely because she cares about her clients and their wellbeing. I went to Irma because I tore my rotator cuff and wanted a way to heal it without surgery. She came highly regarded from a friend and now I know why. After a few sessions I could feel my mobility coming back in that shoulder and after a few months (and doing recommended exercises/treatments she suggested) I was fully healed and able to resume life normally (including weight training, surfing, swimming and paddle boarding) Irma has also treated my gout and helped me pinpoint some unknown things that can cause flareups (carbonated water? YES) so I am thankful for her help there as well. Irma is the woman with the healing hands and energy- I have never really thought this transformation of mine could be possible and believe me I needed a lot of self work. After 2 years and a lot of life experiences good and bad , Irma has helped me stay balanced today I am a better person and know the steps I need to take to stay on track in my daily life and between my visits with Irma. The very first time I had reiki my body was releasing whatever was blocking my chakras my body was moving out I describe it as an convulsion and I just began to have tears rolling down my cheeks I didn't quite know what was happening but I do know that after I left and walked down to the beach as she instructed everything had clarity and I felt that I had released a lot of negativity that was clearly holding me back in life!! As days went on I felt so much calmer ,my way of thinking was switching from usual negativity to being very positive- yes it's been a journey to maintain this in a negative world but I do it with more ease. After I had a baby, my body was hurting some. My joints and back were hurting. I wondered if there is a special massage for postpartum and when I yelped it, I found this place. I went to its website and it mentioned about pregnancy related massage certification and services. It seemed to have good reviews although there are not many, I decided to give a try. I called and made an appointment with Irma. They take your credit card info to hold and they have 24 hour cancellation policy. I went during the week, so it was easy for me to find street parking right in front of the building. When I walked in, the reception area was not big but clean and well-decorated with soothing music playing in the background. The receptionist was nice over the phone and also in person. They asked me to fill out and answer some questionnaires about what kind of health problems that I have. When my turn came, I was led to a room which was a bit small but it is a typical room size you can expect at a massage place. Irma came in and we discussed what was bothering me and she also gave me some tips about breastfeeding and such and it was nice. She was knowledgeable in terms of how muscles are connected and why I feel the tension/pressure. I really enjoyed the massage. I typically like my massage deep and she knew exactly where and how much pressure I wanted from the start. I felt like she took time to massage me and get those knots loosened. She focused on the back which I really needed and she also help soften my breasts where got hardened with breast milk. Maybe it was one of the first times that I went out without a baby, but I felt really relaxed after the massage. Maybe because I have not gotten postpartum massage before. However, I did not really feel much of a difference between postpartum massage vs. regular massages that I have gotten in the past. The receptionist also mentioned that it is a Swedish massage. Regardless, I felt great. My only complaint would be that their pricing was a bit confusing. Maybe I missed it, but their website did not show the prices for each service that they offer. When I first called to find out how much postpartum massage would be, they said $85. Whoever answered the phone first told me that usual massage is cheaper but since it is postpartum massage, it will be $85. I called few days later to make an appointment and I asked for the price again, and the receptionist then told me that it is $125. I confronted her and she said she would make an exception and book me for $85 this time. When I went in for the appointment, the receptionist told me that they made an exception for me since it is my first time and gave me a discount. So, I asked, if the massage is normally $125, then she said "no, it is usually $85." So, it was very confusing and it did not make sense to me how I am getting a discount if it is the normal price. I did not see the list of prices anywhere at the place either, so I couldn't really confirm or reference to something. At the end of the massage though, they ended up charging me around $76, so.. I am not really sure what is real price. They mentioned about a package deal that they offer three 60 minute massage for $200, so it is not too bad, I guess. I really enjoyed the experience though despite of the confusion with price and I think $200 for 3 massages is pretty good deal for the quality of massage I got. I just wish there was a bit of clear pricing indicated somewhere for any customers in the future. I would go back to her if I need massage again and I would recommend her if you are looking for a good massage. read more
