I started to get a deep tissue massage. The woman was doing it so hard I thought she was going to break my back. She was practically sitting on top of me. after 5 minutes I had to tell her to stop and do a regular massage. It was terrible. The man that did the acupuncture sucked as well. Every needle he put in hurt. I've now been experiencing internal tremors every day since that session. It's been over a year now and I will be going to a neurologist soon. read more

I had a great experience at this wellness spa center. The place is very clean and peaceful, which made me feel relaxed as soon as I walked in. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I booked a lymphatic massage with Mia, and it was amazing. She was very professional and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I asked her to concentrate on certain areas, and she delivered. I felt relaxed, and refreshed. The location is good, you'll just need to pay for street parking. Prices are reasonable for the quality of service they offer. The only con.. in my opinion.... the massage room I was in was too close to what I believe was the 'break room' and I could hear talking, laughing. Honestly speaking, a fairly underwhelming experience. It looks nice from the outside. Reception area welcoming and pleasant. Then...you walk into the treatment room. And that's when everything changes. You go from the Riviera to feeling like you're somewhere in Lomita or Carson--it just feels...cheap and basic and not what you had in mind. You walk in to the spa thinking you're getting an elevated experience with elevated services with elevated massage therapists--no such luck. You walk into the room, it's older, basic, bare bones and very cheap feeling and looking. The therapist walks in and now you know you're really in for it. No sounds. No smells. No extra thought, time and care. It's a "wham, bam, thank you ma'am" experience and you leave the place thinking, "what in the world just happened to me?" Perhaps I had the wrong therapist? Maybe. It's possible but, the look from the outside and the look from the reception room doesn't match the look, feel and vibe in the treatment room--and then the treatment starts and it's all downhill from there. I almost feel like the therapist was either brand new, been doing it too long or really had no idea what she was doing. It was bad. Very very hesitant to return after this less than stellar and off putting treatment I received last week. People need to know what it's really like back there--and it's not great. The place is very clean compared to some massage parkour's I've tried and location is great right on riviera village. Front desk service can be just better because we had dinner reservations right after and I had told the lady to squeeze us in earlier which she did but when we showed up she had us wait past our appointment time making us late to our dinner reservations. Luckily our dinner spot was able to accomodate us late but I didn't appreciate getting 30 minutes late for the massage when we showed up earlier and they promised they could take us earlier. read more

What a unique experience. I've had hundreds of massages and none of them were like this. Sara(h?) was amazing. She was extremely detailed when asking about my pain areas and equally conscientious when focusing on them. I had a deep tissue massage and she was ruthless but when I winced, she checked in with me to make sure it wasn't too much. She created a comfortable silence when I was in that peaceful massage state but cracked me up when she joked about something I said. Also important to the experience, the woman at the front desk (I'm so sorry I can't remember your name!) was extremely accommodating. I was 10 minutes late.. entirely my fault. I was happy to take a shortened massage but she had already reached out to the client after me to see if waiting a few extra minutes worked for them. I came here with my husband for a couples massage for our anniversary. It was our first time and we were both so excited to try this place. I added on foot massage for $25 for an extra 15min. I work on my feet for 7 hours daily and was honestly more excited for the foot massage than anything. We arrived exactly on time and wasn't told we had to fill out paper work. When we were done and walking to the room the receptionist let us know that our time would be cut off 5 minutes. I said that wasn't okay and not what we agreed too. They gave us a 7 minute foot massage and wanted to charge us extra $50 extra for two people. She took off $20 but it was competing ridiculous. If we paid for something we should get our full service. No one informed us to be there early for paper work. The massage was great but for that extra charge was completely ridiculous!! read more

My fiance and I came in for a 60 min couples massage and decided to do an add on 15 min facials massage for an additional $25. I want to say this was the worst massage I've ever had. Normally, if the massage isn't great I'll still go through with it until the end but it was so bad I told my lady I didn't like the massage at all and I'd rather just lay there until my fiance was done. All she did for the first 40 mins was lather oil all over my body without a technique at all in massaging my muscles. She was all over the place and rubbed each area for 5 seconds before moving on to another area of my body. All I could hear were footsteps and just walking around the table going from limb to limb with oil and then wiping with a warm towel. I had some knots in my back that she graced over but didn't bother to actually massage out. And then there was a portion where she was rubbing my scalp but not massaging or scratching basically just tangling my hair with oil. Then I figured once we get to the facial massage it'll get better. When that part came it was another lather of oil all over my face and hardly a massage, my hair was getting in the way and was itching my skin I moved my own hair out of the way. I was so fed up to the point where I just told her straight up I didn't like the massage and to just let me lay there. I was so disappointed because I had a stressful work week and looked forward to this massage because my back and neck had been hurting all week from stress, bad posture and bad sleep. If it's your first time there they have you fill out a form and on the back it has an image of a body and you mark the areas that you want to be focused on and how deep you want the massage. I don't think the lady even reviewed my paperwork but it doesn't matter because all she did was slap oil on me. The areas that should have been firm was so light I felt nothing and then other areas like my collarbone and arm were so firm it hurt. I would assume they know that massages should be more focused on the muscle not the bone I had to tell her it hurt. I don't think these people actually took classes on how to massage. I didn't not feel relaxed or distressed after. The front desk concierge name Victoria was great and I felt bad to complain to her and didn't know mean to come off as I was taking my anger out on her but I had to tell her how unhappy I was and I absolutely was not going to pay for the facial massage because I had the lady stop and Victoria was nice she didn't charge me for that. About an hour later I got a call that they refunded my $95 dollars which appreciated. Unfortunately, I won't ever go back there. I don't want to risk another bad masseuse, I didn't catch the name of the lady that did mine but I'll just got down the street to Bliss and pay extra for a massage on my pedicure because they actually do a really good job at massaging even though they are a nail salon. read more

Updating my previous review after the owner reached out to me. I booked another deep tissue massage and had an excellent experience this time. The massage therapist really got to all my knots and focused in on where she felt more tension. I was actually really sore the next day from it, but felt so much better after. The only issue I had this time around is that I actually called to book a sports massage and I was told over the phone that this was the same price as a deep tissue massage but was deep tissue and stretching and included CBD. When I got there, I saw they charged additional for the CBD on the form you will out on arrival and it was not included with the sports massage, also there wasn't really any stretching in my massage, but I didn't mind. So I think I really just ended up with a deep tissue massage. I think things get confusing because you call to book a specific massage type and then they have you fill out a form when you get there asking if you want stretching or CBD or other add ons, so you sometimes end up getting a different type of massage than you called to book or just confused on what your massage already includes and if you need to check the box or not. I think they just need to be more clear on pricing and what you are receiving for the price and eliminate the form when you check in that causes confusion, but other than that the experience was much better this time! read more

I usually go to Massage Revolution and thought I'd try a new massage place today since MR was booked up and unfortunately I should have taken Spathenee having so much availability last minute as a sign. The facilities are nice, but the masseuse I had was obviously not very knowledgeable. She had the same few techniques and skipped over areas I had specified that I wanted attention to. It's awkward to have to tell someone that they're hurting you especially when they're a nice person otherwise, but in hindsight I should have said something. The masseuse spent the last 15 minutes of the massage pinching my shoulders so much that now they are incredibly sore. I've had enough massages to know that you should never pinch, only scoop in one direction at a time. It's a terrible feeling to pay $100 plus tip to be more sore than when I walked in. Total waste of money and time and now I'm actually in pain. read more

They give you a paper prior to your appointment so you can mark which areas you would like them to work on and what kind of pressure you would like. After the stress of covid and losing both of my jobs(both still banned in my area), I saw some great specials and heard from a friend (Titi she is a great massage therapist there she has helped me so much) So anyway I went in for acupuncture (great specials/grand opening) and I've had it done 4 times its soo inexpensive. In order to do acupuncture you need to have a masters degree. Dr. Woo Joon Kim has a PHD. She has helped me with so much pain, anxiety, my thinking, de-stressing, and she uses infrared on your belly or back and its warm and helps the muscles relax. Our stress is held in our gut a lot. In 4 visits I ACTUALLY FEEL physically and mentally so much better and I was not well. (I'm sure everyone can understand. -also, I am a Licensed Esthetician in California and NY and let me tell you, the needles are smaller than a hair follicle. You feel the stagnation moving- IMMEDIATELY. What I also LOVED was how incredibly clean and sanitary there, without feeling weird, it was just a normal spa-like retreat! Everything is so clean and modern, they have cute masks for cheap, there's even an air filter in the bathroom and hand lotion for after the sanitizer! I cant say enough. She does a thorough intake during the initial visit and discusses any changes at the beginning of each follow up to ensure her treatments are working and the patient is getting the most value for each visit. She is also passionate about keeping up with her field. She provides her patients the most effective variety of treatment modalities, including but not limited to, cupping, hot stone massage, intensive stretching, trigger point release, along with expert chiropractic adjustments.
