The most unprofessional staffing agency I have ever had the displeasure to work with. Their job listings are heavily outdated and don't match anywhere near the physical job description upon arriving. Once I stated that to them, they already knew yet failed to tell the other temps within the company, border fraudulent bait and switch behaviour. I quit a job immediately in regard to that as I was clearly overqualified for the position that they claimed would rotate within departments that they knew never would happen. I can do everything within that warehouse setting I was working in, yet they had me doing entry level work when I was an Inventory Control Manager at my previous job. Had I known about the real job and their shady tactics, I would've never responded to their calls. I also let all of the other Temps know what type of agency Balance Staffing is & showed them the exchange I had with Sandy & Tanya in regards to them blatantly lying to us and not having the decency to do their job and inform us that we wouldn't rotate departments. They treat a certain employer/client like they're running a dialysis clinic, they make you do all this homework then Sandy will call you asking specific questions about each department knowing you will never work in any other department besides Beauty. An absolute waste of one month of my life. I would avoid this place like the bubonic plague. If I see them post this job without updating the job specifications, I will report them to Zip Recruiter and Indeed for FRAUD. They also claim that the seasonal temp job is to hire, I spoke with several 10+ year employees saying that's BS, they only hire directly and if they do out of 40 temps maybe one makes it. read more

Came in looking for a job was helped out by Denise and got ghosted instead even when I follow up for openings it's like you don't exist if you're not sitting in-front of them. I called multiple times and was only told what I wanted to hear "I'm working on it." Total waste of time and they won't help benefit you in any way no matter your work ethics. read more

I was referred to this agency from a former co-worker who worked there when she relocated to Modesto where I am also relocating back to as well. I have worked for a staffing agency myself since 2015 so I am very familiar with how the staffing industry works. I initially reached out to Tyson letting me know that I was being referred by my former co-worker and what my situation was and what I was looking for. Tyson had referred me over to Martha who is the Branch Manager. I had responded to her email letting her as well know my situation was and what I was looking to do. After a week of hearing nothing, I followed up with Martha who asked me if I had time to speak on the following Tuesday. I let her know that I was available and let me know what time works. Again, I did not hear anything back. I took the initiative to call since I had still not heard back and she had already left way early on in the day. I called back a few times to see if I could speak to another recruiter or someone else and all I got was voicemails and a run around. I called one final time and asked to speak to a recruiter. They literally did not want to speak to me or cared that I worked for an agency and what I was looking for. What I said went in one ear and out the other. They took down my name and my number and said they'd call me back. I STILL have not heard from anyone and they couldn't get me off the phone fast enough and didn't care. I don't recommend this agency because they truly don't care and are not there to assist you. read more

I applied back in December 2021 talked to a lady name Tanya. Everything was ok the first couple of times talking to her . Then she sent me into the office to do everything on the computer for a job. never heard back from her. Then I called 2 1/2 weeks ago talked to another lady . She said somebody would call in 3 to 4 days.. 2 weeks come around nothing . I called yesterday 03/17/21 yeah somebody else will call. Never heard nothing . I called today 03/18/22 . Told the girl who answered to remove all my info from there computer. This is no place to look for a job.. if you are looking for good people and better pay go through RANDSTAD. Applying here would be a waste of time. Very misleading & will tell you what you want to hear & have it be a waste of time. In the mean time look else where! This is an agency & they'll post advertisements of jobs on fb but don't state how it's an agency. Nico was timid to apply after we seen a post on fb & found out it was an agency, but the pay was worth looking into. So my bf Nico went through the application, drug test, background check & interview just to find out that company already filled the position..so Denise gets him another company that is in Manteca for $16 an hour. He negotiates $18 an hour & signs a paper saying $18 an hour just for her to come back & tell him $14 an hour Nico gps it & it was a 30min drive from our house. Denise & her posts are VERY misleading... it doesn't even say how it's an agency. Nico hasn't went through an agency in years & its very clear why he doesn't anymore. Nico could have started a week earlier at cozad if he hadn't been mislead of the pay & been waiting around. He is a welder & can utilize his skills elsewhere instead on driving an hour everyday & working his ass off for $14 an hour‍...should Denise know my boy friend doesn't sit inside with the AC or heater on looking pretty at a desk, he works his ass off in whatever weather conditions it is outside. Overall, they mislead you & tell you what you want to hear & even put it on paper so you really believe it & wait not so much sure if it's the company or just the recruiter Denise that's misleading, but it's very wrong to have a "new employee" do the application, interview, drug test & sign the $18 an hour agreement just to say the job said $14 an hour..then why did he even sign an $18 hr paper if that was never agreed upon... read more

I'm new to staffing agencies. I called yesterday and they answered promptly. The lady told me you just need 2 forms of ID like a CA id and/or birth certificate and/or passport. I arrived and was greeted by front desk saying they would get to me soon. There were 5 other people just milling around. Some other people in the back on some computers. Glass partitions up between staff and clients. They had coffee and snacks. After about 5 minutes, the receptionist appeared super busy, told me to go start filling out my online profile with their company on their computers. It asked for resume. Just like the tedious online stuff where you put in work experience etc. When that was done, i told her and they created a username for me to complete financial information for paychecks like w-9, tax information, direct deposit bank information, a survey, etc. This could easily take up to an hour if you aren't prepared or a fast typer. I took about 30 minutes. Then she told me to sit down and that a recruiter would interview me. About 5 minutes later a woman came out of the back area and took me an interview room, door open, not much for privacy, very casual atmosphere over all. She asked what I would or could do and payment expectations. She showed me a video on the company she had available and what I would be doing. She gave me her card, I told her my availability schedule, and she said to contact her if she hasn't reached out by friday. The card had an email, a texting number and a calling number. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. At the end, another girl had me swab my mouth for 5 minutes for a quick drug test and it took a minute to get the result and then I was off. Only nice to you in the beginning when they head hunt you. -Empty promises: I have over 14 years experience working in the bay area as a Project Coordinator and they promised (yes, promised) me a assignment in my field. Ummmm....no job was assigned. Liars. -I heard the three ladies behind the reception area talk about some labor workers as they were processing their time cards and checks. That is just wrong and unprofessional. -Interviews are b.s. I was more knowledgeable then the lady interviewing me. This place is all smoke and mirrors. Listen to all the bad reviews and go elsewhere. I personally had a great experience with Express Employment and I am still at my position and happy. read more

I have Been signed up for about three months or so and that's being nice! I never found a job or any work at all. I went in since all staff people play phone tag with you, I asked what's going on because I never get a call back and they say they cannot find any of my information and want me to redo everything for the third time!!! They called my husband and said they had a job for him and to come in and after he drove all the way over there and waited 45 min to talk to Jose, they sent him home to submit his resume online even though he had a paper copy in his hand. I came at friday 1-13-2017 3:45pm to pick up my check but they told me is not in there yet. I provided a voided check and filled out all the paperworks before they send me to the /medical/ pre-employment test but they lost my paper work. I gave them another direct deposit form with my voided check (2nd time) last week 1/6/2017 to process it but they told me its not on their system yet so I filled out another direct deposit form with my voided check (for the 3rd time) for them to process my direct deposit. Everytime I pick up my check I have to go back twice. I did call first and they told me that the checks will be here this time and when I got there on the said time they said its gonna be an hour or so. Its frustrating! read more

Run don't walk away from this place. My first recruiter was Steven who failed to communicate with me whenever I would follow up to see if they had any openings. They then had me come in again for an interview with another recruiter, Devin. I explained to Devin that I already met with Steven a month ago & he had asked me the same questions but that got brushed off. I then asked how often I should follow up so I won't be a nuisance & he told me as often as I'd like. My first follow up & he tells me I'd need to follow up with my recruiter- Steven. At that point I gave up on this company. 9 months after my first initial contact, I got the very first phone call about a job opening. This place is so horrible I don't know what I was thinking joining this place, I joined this company expecting a temp to hire position not a temp to hire a year later, this staffing agency also stole my check, cashed my check, and even signed the girls name that stole it! I eventually got my check 2 weeks later, and just last week I asked for my check stub and they requested it and I called a few days later and they still didn't have it, my recruiter was horrible at communication! This is a bogus company just making money off the employees!!! Went on 1st job assignment ... which didn't work out for many reasons .... mostly due to one unhappy employee . Devin, who assigned me the job.. called me before shift and said the job ended my assignment due to mistakes made (while minimal help). I was half asleep and he said so we will let you know if anything else come up in future. I felt very unsettled about the job and wanted more info, but I called and left messages 2 to 3 for Devin with no response then I called main # got voicemail, so I left a message to speak to Devin's supervisor, still nothing. Then when I finally got supervisor she had Devin call me and explain because they said I made mistake he would not be able to help me further..... when I started with Balance they were all about finding a good fit... now it is sorry your screwed!! Avoid this scam at all costs. They sent me to a job, I was slightly injured, requiring a few stiches. Lodi hospital tried locating their workman's comp insurance but could not. The lady at balance tried to persuade me to put off treatment until the next day. Withholding medical attention is illegal. The medical staff was appalled at the sitiation. I waited for quite some time for balance to return a call with insurance info, something they should know instantly. Fast forward to 4 months later, I'm getting notices from an attorney for hospital charges. Apparently, balance won't return faxes or calls from the attorney, so now I'm on the hook for nearly $1,000. BE WARNED: THIS PLACE IS SHODDY, ILLEGAL AND IMMORAL, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. IF I COULD RATE WITH NEGATIVE STARS, THEY WOULD GET ONE MILLION. BAD, BAD PLACE. read more

This company is a very unprofessional and simply cannot find you a good work they will however find you work in places where you can not excel in and or you will have other problems along the way. The staff is rude in the places they say that you are horrible plus expect to only work one or two days within the month and that is a promise. I haven't had any bad experience there so far and I've been with them for over a year already. My recruiter Linda have been helpful and she tend to check up on me same as Sandy. The workers/recruiter staffs has been helpful and respectful...well except one. My overall on it has been great especially with Melina Yang. She's been helpful throughout everything. When I have a question Melina answer to it and if she doesnt know she'll search for my answer. I can't say anything bad on this company and I know you got other people who do. Like I said maybe it's how you approach people. I'll definitely continue with them and I'm thankful for Balance Staffing helping me through it all in my time of need. read more

This agency is a joke . I've been told my direct deposit information will be changed to my checking account, it's been a whole month & 2 weeks later & my information has not been changed yet. Their whole pay roll is a joke . My account was linked into another card because I had lost the one they had given me in the beginning & I have been receiving my money through there ever since because apparently they find it so hard to give me my money through my personal checking account . & I come to find out just today that the account number linked to my card magically changed on their payroll , yet the routing number is correct ? So let me tell you my story on this trash place .they send me out on a walk through of a job that they were going to send me to.and at the walk through i was quite and listening to the represent speaking and taking it all in .and do to the fact that i didnt ask questions and i yawned a few times i was over looked for the position. i had the worst experience with Devin Nishizaki, let me tell you all about it. He responded to me from an email & left a voicemail to call him back. Well, he never answers the phone and the voicemail doesn't belong to him so i was confused for a week before finally getting in contact with him. We interviewed & he wanted to place me for a Quality Control position , but after interviewing , he offered me an Account Rep position. I was drug tested on the spot & completed my new hire paperwork. Guess what!! Devin turns into Casper again, he completely disappears for a few days and no contact, i start having a bad feeling, but in the mist of it all received a job offer from another company. I called Balance & informed Veronica of my offer & asked to speak with a Manager. I don't remember her name but its starts with "KE" When i finally spoke to Devin, after calling his manager, he tells me he will contact me by the end of the day for my start date "the company hasn't responded yet, but he will let me know". Mind you, he hasn't followed through with any previous promises. So after not calling back, as expected I contacted Management & left feed back regarding my experience with Devin.. Well let me tell you how "sassy"Devin is. This air head tells his manager "I was under the impression she was going to take the other job offer". Well guess what Casper, don't assume anything about me without communicating to me. People use this company as an outreach for employment, but i'm not desperate! I may be the one interviewing, but i ask questions & observe as well, and Devin needs to be looking for employment elsewhere. He couldn't be my recruiter, i happily withdrew from the company. Im grown, this isn't weekend money, come correct & professional, or i wont come at all. Too many jobs out there to be wasting time due to lack of communication. They said still waiting for processing. I believe that They keep avoiding to answer on my phone. I found that Balance staffing only make money after an interview with many people. My husband was called for an interview, took a day off work so he can attend. Was told over the phone the week prior, there was a position available he was qualified for, making more that he was currently making.He showed up early, waited over an hour,then was taken back to meet with recruiter that starting asking him years of experience. Then when he asks about the position, is told the position he thought he was applying for was FILLED!! a simple phone call letting him know of this would have been the PROFESSIONAL thing to do.Then she tries to offer him a job that pay LESS than what he is currently making.Are you kidding me?
