I talked to like 6 different firms, and what immediately drew me to Prestige was Nestor's professionalism and demeanor. He was easy to talk to, kind and very sharp. He wasn't pushy, and clearly explained the way in which he would approach my case. Up to that point, every firm I talked to was requiring me to sign lengthy service contracts filled with a lot of red flags and broad indemnity clauses. Nestor on the other hand was honest and up front, telling me he could take on my case for an extremely reasonable flat fee, and no ridiculous 10 page contract requiring a kidney as collateral. I was inspired to leave this review not just because how quickly Nestor reached out to me and how friendly he was. I was inspired to leave this review because of the kindness, integrity, patience, and empathy that he has shown during our very brief conversation. He could have very easily milked me for the kind of service I'm looking for which he definitely provides. But instead, he warned me about the potential costs the kind of service I'm looking for may incur, advised me to think twice before pulling the trigger (figuratively), and gave me tips on how to lower the cost of said service as much as possible. I hired NestorTorres of Prestige Investigations in 2014 to assist with a serious criminal matter. My experience was extremely disappointing and, in my view, unethical:     1    Zero investigative work - While I was initially retained through my first attorney, Torres performed no interviews or fact‑finding. He only began any activity after I switched lawyers, and even then his effort amounted to no more than 30-40hours for a complex case.     2    Failure to pursue key leads - He never contacted or interviewed the alleged victim's swim coach, a person of interest who was directly connected to the alleged abuse. This omission left critical exculpatory evidence undiscovered.     3    False testimony & undisclosed payment - Torres testified in court without ever informing me, and I never paid him for that testimony. I have no idea who compensated him, which raises serious concerns about conflict of interest and possible bribery.     4    Inconsistent reports - His investigation report differed materially from both the initial and follow‑up police reports, and his courtroom testimony contradicted his own findings.     5    Loss of records & lack of communication - When I asked for copies of his files, he claimed they were "lost," effectively preventing any review of his work.     6    Bias & hidden agenda - In my opinion, Torres displayed a pattern of racism toward non‑Hispanic clients and seemed more interested in protecting certain individuals than seeking justice. Overall, I feel Torres' conduct contributed directly to the denial of my appeal and the prolonged loss of my liberty. An excellent service that delivered results quickly and effectively. The main line goes to a live person to take your information and forward it to an investigator. They promised I would get a call back that day; and sure enough, I got a call back within a few hours. The person listened to my situation and gave me an upfront assessment. At the time, it seemed like he may not be the best person to help me, but he said send over the details and he'll see what he can do. The next day, he got back to me with all the information I needed. We had previously discussed an hourly rate but the one-time fee he ended up charging me was very reasonable. I definitely got good value for my dollar. I want to add that even if he wasn't able to help me, I still would have given this 5 star review. It's important to recognize people for being straightforward, honest, and helpful. He also gave me some options for pursuing the case on my own. I'm giving them 5 stars because they did a fantastic job of allowing someone who harassed me sexually and has no boundaries find me. I'm a single Black woman who lives alone. I adopted a dog from the friends of Alameda shelter. The foster who helped my blind dog recover from his surgery was so disrespectful to me prior to the finalization of the adoption. He made sexually and racially inappropriate comments to me which is why I cut ties with him. Mind you, I only met this man twice.I reported this man to the shelter and they took away his privileges of being a foster Due to how he was not only disrespecting but also demanding to see the dogs that he was fosters too. It made me so uncomfortable that I have to start seeing a therapist because I was receiving calls from this man, his family and friends, and other people that he was sending my way to demand that he must see my dog, which I owned. This agency did a fantastic job of helping him find me so he could come to my house, harassed me, and come to my door as well as send things to me via mail. This took me to the point that I had to put a restraining order on this man (which was upheld by the courts). So for that, I give them 5 stars. I am not one to Yelp about anything!!! If I like something I may rave about it to family and friends but that is the extent. However, my experience with Sanna and Nestor was something to share with all who are either hopeful to find someone or doubtful they will ever find their loved ones. The back story: My father is one of 3 children. He had not had any contact with his older brother in over 30 years. I apparently was introduced to him when I was a baby but I was too young to remember him. For many years my father and his younger sister tried to find their brother with no luck. Sadly, 3 1/2 weeks ago, they lost their mother. They wanted to find him even more at this point to let him know about his mother. They knew only the last state he said he was living in when he paid his mother a visit back in 1998. I've been called the "mad googler" because if it's online, I will find it. I could not find ANYTHING on him. So I yelped and found Sanna and Nestor. In less than 24 hours I was on the phone with my uncle. He said he was not hiding but he didn't think anyone cared to talk to him. He didn't feel that anyone of us would ever want to look for him. Now I'm sure there is so much more to this on his part but I am Happy and Thankful to be able to ask all the questions I want in-person when I see him next week! Sanna was not done at one call to find him! She made a call, did not get him directly; called me to let me know the status and told me if she did not hear from him she would be calling back! Sanna of Prestige Investigations is an angel! Really!! I am in a very difficult situation. A few months ago I found out that someone who has access to my son might be a sexual predator. This person also teaches children for a living and has access to other kids. So the stakes are high. If you go to their website, if you ever see a chat box - don't do it. There's a company called Digital Investigations that seems pretty shady trying to ride on the coattails of reputable businesses like Prestige. Because the chat box was on Prestige's website, and the chat people said that they were Prestige Investigations in San Jose, I assumed it was Sanna and Nestor but it is not. Confirm you're corresponding with Sanna or Nestor. Anyway, I was out $2000 with Digital Investigations and got pretty much got NOTHING from them -- they said they found two email addresses on the guy (which included the two email addresses on the guy that I provided). The report also had a screenshot of the wrong guy's Facebook account. Incredibly ridiculous! This is an incredibly scary and vulnerable period of my life and I felt betrayed by a person I trusted with my child, angry that he still has access to other kids, scared he still has access to mine, and feeling helpless that I was out $2000 from a company that I feel took advantage of my desperation.
