I'm surprised to be the first to review this area that so many know of. The road up is all paved. The short road to the trail head is gravel. I've brought a whistle and PLD though the area was hit by fire and I'd be surprised to see a bear here. It's an easy 15-20 minute hike to the top. I wore safety sneakers (my everyday sneakers) rather than boots. The views are very nice. You are slightly isolated so a PLD is a good idea. read more
