I am a business woman well dressed and in need of a restroom in this remote little town! Her statement to me was "we don't have a public restroom use the one at Lake Francis fifty yards down the road!" So I tried, they were closed until April! It's January! I'm sure she knew that but, why would she care?! Anyway, after driving randomly thru this town I found a little thrift store with a "public" restroom! With that said, I'm puzzled how anyone would say the staff here is pleasant or personable. After living here a few years, I can confirm that the ladies working here only get more crotchety the older and fatter they become. You can tell from their dead eyed stares and the undisguised contempt in their voices that they wish they were doing anything other than customer service. As far being helpful, they will do the bare minimum they have to and treat it like an inconvenience. If you explicitly ask them to help with something they will stare at you like you ran over their dog and then do the opposite of what you asked just to spite you. They once took a piece of mail that said "do not bend" on it and folded it into quarters before shoving it into the box, despite the fact that it would have fit easily without bending it at all. The only thing they do well here is confirm the stereotype that postal employees are emotionally unstable malcontents that couldn't find work anywhere else.

The amount of packages and mail that streams through this tiny, understaffed post office must be enormous, yet I have rarely had any issues whatsoever with getting my mail and packages. I fail to comprehend why anyone would make disparaging remarks against the staff. I have witnessed customers be rude to these ladies which I found disgusting.

I only used their drop box inside the post office. The United States Post office is located on the corner of Oak Street and Robinson in old downtown Oroville. The building itself is beautiful with alot of character. Very historic! I was there today at 220 pm ( September 12) and there was a pretty long line of people with packages. I can't say if the employees are on top of it or not because I did not have to go up to the counter for assistance. Parking is available out front. I would have given them more stars but the 2 homeless people right in front of the entry were not friendly. I won't go here again because I don't live here! I usually mail my stuff at the post office elsewhere. It does have mail boxes inside this facility.
