Connie and Josey were very detailed and patient throughout the process of getting him shipped to another state. My family has used this Baldwin-Fairchild location several times over the past few decades. I believe that the first time we did so was in 1996 when my grandfather passed away, and we returned to it again in 2009 and again last month to make arrangements for two other family members who unfortunately passed away. I don't remember much about how things were in 1996, but this location did an excellent job in 2009 and again in 2013. The employees seem to be very professional and did an impressive job in a short period of time. Hopefully it's not anytime soon, but I personally would entrust this location to handle any future arrangements. read more

Michelle helped myself, my father and my brother plan our Mom's memorial. We had it the very next day and it was beautiful. My Mom is a huge Disney fanatic and along with some of our Disney decor, they made everything amazing(even the tablecloths were Mickey colors and the chocolates had the Magic Kingdom castle on them). The death of a family member is one of the most painful experiences and every staff member was fantastic. We could not have asked for more. Words can't express how appreciative our family is for the team at this Baldwin Fairchild Altamonte Springs location. From the moment we first called and then opened the doors to their office to discuss laying our mother to rest, Josy guided us so professionally through the process with incredible compassion. She quickly got us lined up for our service. Anna, our funeral director, was just as kind, patient and professional. Clearly these ladies care. Everyone we interacted with on staff from start to finish, were fantastic. Joe and a Chelly (sp?) at the graveside we're helpful too. There are many who do their jobs and carry out their roles well but they seemed to go above and beyond, they stood out to us. Even on the morning of our service as Josy greeted the family before the others arrived she noticed all of the men had ties and squares with varying hues of purple. She said that is her favorite color isn't it, and without us requesting she promptly changed the table runners from pink to purple. It's the small details and friendly service that is such a blessing for a service like this. Thank you, again, for everything. read more

My husband passed away late last year. His best friend took it upon himself to contact Baldwin-Fairchild in Lake Mary. I'm grateful for the help and figured they would be good as I've attended other funerals there in the past. I was in a daze so help was appreciated. It has been the worst experience of my life. The death was bad enough, but the incompetence, the lack of communication, I don't have an extensive enough vocabulary to express how awful this experience has been. My father passed away three years ago. The funeral home took care of everything. She had nothing to worry about. My mother-in-law has buried a daughter and a husband previous to my husband/her son and she's never experienced anything like this with any of the other occasions. Apparently the shoddy service continues six months on. I called last week (Tuesday) to see about ordering a pendant (I couldn't do it before because of financial concerns) I was told over and over that the imprint would be there, to just call when I was ready to order. The funeral director said he couldn't talk before Friday am which was fine. Friday 11 am rolled by and no call so I called them. The funeral director had just quit. OK....so they're going to give my file to someone else and they'll call me. Now it's Tuesday of the next week and I haven't heard anything so I call again. I'm given the song and dance that it's on 'Leslie's" desk and she's supposed to call me. What is your number again and I'll make sure...blah blah blah... It's after hours and I never received a phone call from 'Leslie". This is exactly the sort of thing I went through during the planning and and afterwards (they didn't even have the urn I wanted the day of the service though they had two weeks to get it in, I could have ordered it myself and had it overnighted but that's what I'm paying them for right? I don't know what to do any more, I'm so upset. They have some serious customer service issues and I honestly don't know how I haven't lost it completely. If you need a funeral home, please do some research. You will be making many decisions after the unexpected death of a loved one and some will have to be done quickly. Plan ahead and avoid this pain that I've had to go through. You only have one chance to get the funeral right. read more
