Let me start by saying that the quality of product produced by Balerina Films is excellent. The reason I am giving a less than perfect review is because of the wait time for the final product and lack of clarity regarding the timeline. The entire editing process, per contract, was supposed to take 5 months. Arina and team initially let us know that the IG teaser would take a few weeks rather than next-day since they were very busy, and we agreed to that verbally. After several emails asking for an update, we were then told to expect the IG teaser video by end of Feb (3 months from the wedding) and the highlights & full video by 7 months from the wedding. We finally got the highlights video almost 9 months after our wedding date (and never got an IG teaser...which at this point I think has lost its value so I did not push it). Though we were told our full video was also ready at that time, we did not actually receive it until over 10 months from our wedding. Arina and team were very responsive and courteous throughout the process, and while we were understanding of delays due to COVID and personal issues within the team, the whole process should not have taken almost a year. I think customers should be aware of this and hopefully the team will not be spreading themselves so thin in the future so as to avoid delays and breach of contract. read more

We loved working with Arina and the whole Balerina Films team for our wedding photography and videography! They are incredibly easy to work with and helped make us feel so comfortable and not awkward at all when posing in front of the camera. By the end of the wedding weekend they felt more like friends than vendors! Every piece of content--including the engagement photos and video, same day edit/highlights video, photo gallery, full movie, and even a couple bonus instagram reels--has been such perfection. They even provided live stream services so our family abroad could take part in the celebrations. In the full movie, there was so much emotion throughout while also perfectly capturing how much fun we had at each event over our 3 day wedding. I hired Balerina for our engagement photo/video and walk away from that experience with the fondest of memories. The team helped me secure a location for the engagement shoot, were patient/helpful during outfit changes, and prompt and responsive via email. We got our photos and video so quickly, I was shocked! This was the first time my husband and I were getting professional photos taken. They could tell that we were out of our comfort zone in the beginning and helped us break out of our shell. Trying to describe my experience with Balerina Films is hard to put into words because that's how incredible they are - my husband and I were very picky who we wanted as our videographers and searched for SEVERAL months before we finally found Balerina Films. Let me tell you, the wait was worth it! We worked with both Alex, Arina and several members of their team and start to finish, they were so patient with us. Arina and Alex did a magical job creating our wedding videos. Not only were they extremely professional on the day of our wedding, they also produced a flawless highlight video and IG short using a drone, multiple cameras, and expert editing to produce a smooth and cinematic production. We originally fell in love with their work after watching one of their short videos on Instagram. We were subsequently recommended to them by our wedding planner who has worked with them frequently over the last few years (shout out to SoCal Event Planners). Just one note to couples who are choreographing wedding dances, let them know ahead of time what the dance will look like so they will be able to capture it in the best way! I just wanted to update my Yelp review as I got many questions about the edited movie. Arina and her team continue to capture cinematic moments throughout the video. It's very well edited and each moment is beautifully captured. My only slight issue was that you have to pay extra in order receive a USB or raw footage which is unheard of from local videographers. The video is very minimalistic so I was hoping to watch more of my 3 day wedding events through raw footage. Bummer I have to rely on videos made from iPhones. EDITED 12/12/22 (because we have only JUST now received our final movie and I feel I can be a bit more candid). We were married 15months ago.... I feel I'm doing an injustice to folks with my previous review because overall I would not recommend you hire them. There is no denying the creative talent of this team. I've said as much in my previous post, but I'm a firm believer that more than half your responsibility as a service provider is the communication and overall experience you provide to your paying clients, and that is where this team fell massively short. I'm walking away from this experience feeling betrayed and glad it's over. No vendor should ever make you feel that way. Communication through the ENTIRE process was truly unforgivable. I had to reach out for updates every single time, up until the final deliverable. All while watching Arina post on instagram stories asking brides to "please stop reaching out" and they're "doing the best they can". I felt trapped: I didn't want to be annoying, but I also was never getting a deadline they could deliver on, nor was I receiving any proactive outreach whatsoever. I eventually just gave up. Our signed, legal, contract clearly had no value in this relationship. We were promised delivery in 6 months and never offered compensation for this blatant breach of contract, only "I'm sorry" and "thank you for your patience". The bottom line: Talented creative team SERIOUSLY lacking business operational skills (from time management to client communication). There are plenty of great videographers out there, just pick someone else. read more

My husband and I always knew that for our wedding the video had to fit this unique style that we were looking for. We honestly watched so many different videos from various videographers but when we came across Balerina we knew it was the one. I remember Balerina Films being one of the first vendors that we booked throughout our planning process because thats how sure we were of them. Samir + I first (and finally) met Arina during our engagement shoot that we did at Griffith Observatory that we waited MONTHS to do because of COVID. The moments where Arina and her team would pull us away for some shots were truly some of the most relaxing, fun, and lighthearted moments for us. My husband and I originally hired Arina and her team for our big wedding on 5.23.2020, but then covid hit. Arina was very understanding of our situation and pushed our contract out for a big party we plan to have later in 2021. However, we still wanted to get married and have a smaller ceremony that they videographed. We booked a 3 hour elopement package that came with video and photo. I was a bit bummed that Arina was booked for another shoot this day, but she trusted us in the hands of her other team members - who did great! They even edited down our entire ceremony for us in a video for a small extra fee. This past year has been chaotic globally, but having these precious photos and the beautiful videography telling our love story is a treasure I am so very grateful for.
