Doctor Weathers is the best. I have been going to him for over 2 decades even though I no longer live in the area.

I was referred to this office for wisdom tooth removal and had a deeply disappointing experience…read more During my consultation, I provided my insurance information and specifically asked the staff to obtain a pre-authorization from my insurer outlining all costs before I agreed to schedule. I was told my out-of-pocket cost would be $250, so I proceeded based on that assurance. After the surgery was completed, I unexpectedly received an additional bill for about $300. When I called to ask why, the employee I spoke with was abrupt and unprofessional. Instead of helping clarify the charge, she pointed to fine print in a signed form and immediately threatened to send me to collections within 10 days if I didn did not pay. I ultimately paid the collections bill to protect my credit, but the situation could have been avoided with honest communication. When I called again, the office manager admitted they never actually pursued the pre-authorization I had requested. I was then told their standard practice is to estimate or "guesstimate" costs based on prior experience with insurers rather than confirm coverage in advance. That approach is not transparent and directly contradicts what I was told before scheduling. Although the manager apologized and accepted responsibility, the office refused to refund my payment after checking with corporate. I also developed a post-surgical complication. Because of this office's limited hours, I had to return to my original dentist for care. My dentist found broken tooth fragments pushing through my gums that had been missed during surgery, requiring additional treatment. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to seek resolution. Even after the office manager had taken blame, the practice actively battled the BBB report. Only after the case was closed did they finally acknowledge their error. That resistance to accountability was extremely frustrating. I chose this office solely because I was given clear cost information that turned out to be only an estimate rather than the verified authorization I requested. Accurate communication about billing is essential in healthcare, and that responsibility rests with the provider. Based on misleading pricing, inadequate follow-up care, and poor accountability, I cannot recommend this practice.

No pleasantries, no evidence of kindness or caring. After filling out all of the duplicate paperwork, I was told I needed an xray. I had just had X-rays taken at my regular dentist within the last 2 months. I have extreme difficulty with X-rays, on a normal basis. But with the way the machine was setup, it was too high. I could not tolerate it! I felt I was choking. I told the tech (?) she told me that I wasn't choking. I HAD to do this xray. I told her I could not physically do it, couldn't they get my xray from the referring dentist. She looked to the front office where someone was shaking their head and saying "no." The"tech" said we would have to reschedule. I had been here 2 hours already filling out paperwork without seeing the surgeon at all. Not coming back ever! I don't have to. I will definitely find another oral surgeon, that hopefully cares or at least can pretend with the patients. The whole situation was uncomfortable, cruel, unappealing and uncomfortable. And I didn't even get to meet the surgeon...

Furthermore, the lady on the phone was kind enough to inform me I would have a tough time finding another place accepting my insurance down the road. I am completely stunned. With me doing the best I can to be responsible in all areas of my life I am shocked that I am turned away for simply over sleeping one time.

So it would have been from 2020-2022 I believe. I was in the process of getting braces as an adult which (for me) required trying to pull down an impacted adult tooth from my upper jaw. I saw the first oral surgeon at IOMSA in 2020 when he surgically attached the bracket to my impacted tooth. That surgery I believe went fine. However, a year or so later, when the impacted tooth still wasn't coming down with my braces, the Orthodontist sent me back to IOMSA for a 2nd oral surgery to have them move the bracket and remove "some more bone" from around the impacted tooth. I saw a different oral surgeon this second time. And I told her then that I didn't really want to keep trying to pull the tooth down. I would have rather just gotten the impacted tooth out surgically, and got on with my life. But she insisted that I keep trying to pull it down after opening my jaw up and looking at it. So she continued to move the bracket (as planned). However, she also continued to remove SO MUCH BONE from my jaw that it irreversibly damaged and ruined my mouth and teeth forever. After that surgery, the orthodontist kept telling me how unhappy she was with what they did to me. But I didn't fully understand the impact of it yet. And I was in alot of pain. More than was expected for that type of surgery. What I came to find out is that once that bone is gone, it's gone forever. You can't ever get that bone back in your jaw. So when the orthodontist was unable to pull down that impacted tooth even after the 2nd oral surgery, I was basically screwed. I had to have 3 or 4 bone grafts and tissue grafts to try and at least kind-of repair the damage, but it was never enough. I actually lost a perfectly good tooth adjoining the surgery site because of how much bone loss I had. The good tooth had become loose because the surgeon at IOMSA had removed SO MUCH bone from my upper jaw. And I almost actually lost two teeth (and that was according to yet another oral surgeon at IOMSA who thought he couldn't save either of them). So I went to see a different oral surgeon at that point (outside of IOMSA) as well as a periodontist who had to pull the loose tooth and was able to install two implants in my mouth, but it was really hard for him to do so because of how little bone I had. After getting the final implant crowns from my general dentist last week, he commented on how shocked he was that the periodontist was able to do the implants at all given how little bone I have left. So, my mouth/teeth are FOREVER messed up because of what the surgeon at IOMSA did to me. My teeth will never be straight and i have so much visible damage from that surgery still to this day. The implants sit high up in my jaw because there was no where else for them to go.
