During my recent visit to the dental office, I encountered some significant issues related to the front office staff's handling of insurance verification. Specifically, the staff member at the window referred to me informally as "hon" and informed me that she could not validate one of my three dental insurance plans. When I inquired if she had contacted Delta Dental to clarify the situation (as this issue had not arisen at other dental offices), she replied that she had not made that call. Instead, she intended to check benefits online, which seemed less effective than directly calling the number on my insurance card. The office operates under a policy that requires insurance eligibility to be confirmed before any dental work can be performed. I found it perplexing that, while she was supposed to be verifying my eligibility, she spent time chatting with a coworker and eating her lunch at the window. During my visit, I observed two other patients arriving and leaving before I was seen, which led me to believe they had simpler insurance situations. Eventually, after being taken back for X-rays, the dentist kindly addressed my dental issue. However, he was unable to fix my tooth because the front office staff had not verified that my insurance would cover the necessary procedure of gluing my tooth back into place. This experience made it clear that the person at the front desk played a crucial role; without her completing the eligibility verification, the dentist could not proceed with any treatment. Moreover, I noted the overall atmosphere of the office, which fell short of my expectations. With an empty waiting room when I arrived, I was surprised by the receptionist's focus on personal conversations rather than patient care. After waiting 30 minutes, I noticed she was still eating lunch, further adding to my frustration as the only patient present. Beyond staff interactions, the waiting room itself contributed to my unease. The decor was uninviting, featuring cheap rubber plants and an overall unfriendly ambiance, which heightened my anxiety about the dental visit. Given the revenue typically generated by dental practices, I believe the environment could greatly benefit from improvements--such as incorporating real plants and more aesthetically pleasing art--to create a more welcoming space. Ultimately, I rated this experience four stars due to the professionalism and kindness displayed by Dr. Duffy and April. Without their exceptional assistance, my experience might have warranted only a one-star rating. However, the delays caused by front office inefficiencies were significant and warrant attention for better patient care in the future. I had been to Emergency Dental in the past but never had I walked out of the office being told I had 12 cavities. My last visit they said I had 12 cavities. I thought they were lying and just inflating the number like a dental practice that scams people for money. Well I think they are a dental practice that scams people because I went to see a dentist my friend recommended and turns out I only have four. Yes I still have cavities and that's not good but Indiana Emergency Dental tripled the amount of cavities I had. Not sure if they thought they were being nice to "get it out of the way before it's worse" but in my mind there is nothing nice about inflating the number of cavities I have just so you can walk away with a big pay check. On top of this I went to School with the receptionist and how cool is it to walk out of the office saying hey I remember you and now you know I have 12 cavities when it is actually four. The only reason I would ever come back to this god forsaken place is to tell that person that I didn't have 12 cavities, just four. So I do not recommend coming here. Big probability you're going to pay for a procedure you don't even need. But hey it's 2026 so if you're down to get scammed because you think it's fun that's your choice and it is definitely Indiana Emergency Dentals choice as well! Tata! read more

My permanent bridge came out on a Friday night before we were leaving on vacation the next day. I called that night and was able to get an appointment first thing that next morning on Saturday. Everyone was super nice and professional from the front desk staff to the dental assistant to Dr. Duffy who was able to cement my bridge back in so I could still leave on my vacation. read more

Very bad dentist. I had issues with every single one of my fillings only 4 months after Gary touched my mouth, and another dentist had to repair his terrible work. His hygienist was extremely rough on my teeth too. When we reached out to the office to let them know of this, they were extremely dismissive and didn't care. It was a disaster that led to months and months and months of pain. His carelessness has caused me so much distress and hundreds of dollars. read more

I would not want my friends or family to come here. The care is fine but compared to a root canal I had elsewhere all of mine here were longer and way more invasive. They cut my tongue with the drill multiple times and ignored it. Every single time I check out there's an outstanding bill of $90+ outside of the initial costs. Even when the doctor and the receptionist confirmed there would be no bill for an appointment, I still received a bill in the mail. Unless there are literally no other options I would highly suggest you seek care elsewhere. read more

As someone who has anxiety with needles and procedures, everyone from the front desk staff, the nurses, and Dr. Duffy were reassuring and very comforting through the entire procedure for 4 wisdom teeth to be extracted. I have put this off for several years due to fear and as soon as they numbed me, all 4 teeth were out within 10 minutes. Dr. Duffy went over complications and explained paralysis in the bottom jaw, and how these teeth can cause issues with the sinuses.. and answered all my questions I could not have had a better experience read more

Judging by her rude and immature behavior, this Dental Office must not have had any other applicants to choose from. Mallory has no customer service skills to speak of. I visited Dr. Garry yesterday for a tooth extraction. I wasn't overly nervous upon arrival, as I kinda knew what the outcome was going to be and that an extraction was going to be inevitable. The lobby had ELF playing on the TV when we came in, let's face it, it's pretty hard to be too overly anxious when Buddy The Elf is smiling at you. With that said, the part that makes me most nervous about these types of procedures is the numbing. Usually the numbing makes the entire side of my face feel like it's slouching off my skull. I don't know if it's that my other experiences were not as skilled or the location of this extraction required less evasive numbing, but Dr Garry localized it to only my jaw and not the rest of my face. Long story short (or shortened, anyway ) the procedure went off without a hitch. Dr Garry and Stephanie were so sweet and caring during the whole procedure. My husband and I have plans to book appointments for our teens and us for cleanings the coming new year. I'm so glad we found Dr Garry and his team. We don't mind traveling to get to his office (45 mins from where we live...but we use to travel 1.5 hours for our kids dentist in Florida) When you find a great dentist, you do whatever you can to keep going to them. Thank you Dr Garry, Stephanie (also, thanks for sorting out my pain meds with the pharmacist too), and the whole office team. Y'all are so great! read more

I paid $1300 to have an infected implant removed, which unfortunately turned into a 10 day hospital stay because he sewed the incision closed then the infection had no where to drain so it got up into my sinus cavity. Also had to go home with 4 weeks of antibiotics. That was the most expensive $1300 I have ever spent in my life. Maybe good for a general dentist but don't go to him for anything implant related. The oral surgeons at IU told me I never should've been sewn up so clearly he doesn't know what he's done doing when it comes to implants. read more

Let me start off by saying I am extremely anxious about going to the dentist. I pushed off my sensitivity issue until it became a constant toothache which became more painful by the minute. I finally gave up and started looking for urgent dental offices. I called multiple places, but they either didn't offer anesthesia, or they didn't sound like they cared much. I called Dr. Garry's office and immediately the woman who answered the phone (I'm so sorry I can't remember your name) was so kind and caring while I spoke with her. I scheduled an appointment for five, but they accept walk-ins so I went hoping I might be able to get in quickly. From the time I walked in they quickly exceeded my expectations. They were very kind, professional, friendly, and caring. I told them I was very anxious and instead of being dismissive like I've experienced in the past, they were very understanding and talked me through everything. I ended up coming back later with my husband so I had a driver and Dr. Garry had all of my wisdom teeth out within fifteen minutes. My husband and I were amazed at how quick and efficient he was, while also still being informative and personable. He was also kind enough to talk to my husband about an issue of his while we were there. I'm five days post op and healing great. The office also reached out to me after to make sure I was feeling okay and not having any issues (I know that's standard practice, but I could tell they actually remembered me and didn't make me feel like just another patient). Safe to say, Dr. Garry is now our regular primary family dentist, and we plan on making an appointment for our toddler to see him as well. I'm so extremely grateful to have found this office! read more

Dr. Garry is by far the best dentist I have ever had an experience with.. he's calm, soothing & caring. You can feel that he cares for you when he's talking with you.. I had 2 teeth in my mouth that were causing me issues, I called him at 7:30 am and he had me come in at 9 am the same day.. he pulled one of the teeth causing me issues and we planned on doing a root canal on the other.. unfortunately since I waited on the root canal (my own choice) my tooth cracked so I had to also have that one pulled. I called the office at 7 pm at night crying in a lot of pain and they took me the next day. A different dentist was in that day, I don't remember his name, but he was also great! This office is a 45 minute drive from my house and it is so worth it! It's rare you come across a dentist who takes their time with you to make you feel at ease and comfortable. I originally came here as an emergency but will now keep Dr. Garry as my primary dentist. A huge thanks to Dr. Garry & his team!! Y'all really are amazing. Edward Garry Family Dentistry is no longer available. Dr. Gary is not practicing there anymore and they are automatically switching patients to Dr. Campano who is outside of some insurance networks. They did not let me know of this change until the dentist was going to come check my teeth (after the hygienist already cleaned them). Now I have an out of network bill. I will not return to this office and believe changing dentists without informing clients is completely unethical. I really liked Dr. Gary and am sad he is no longer in practice, but completely disagree with how this has been handled. read more

Dr. Garry and his team are one of the best. I have a very childish behavior when it comes to any type of pain or the unknown, but Dr. Garry and his team were comforting, warm, and helpful during my entire experience. The best part - it wasn't painful. They are careful and considerate to each patient's needs no matter how childlike they may seem.
