Stopped by here to grab a little lunch. Customer service was attentively excellent. She took the time to describe the various meals to me. I ordered and waited a short time for my meal, peppered steak with bean rice. Not only was the meal delicious, but the portion size was better than average. The atmosphere in the dining area was peaceful and clean. I will return to try their curry goat.

The food was horrible! The rice did not taste fresh or authentic. The turkey was just shelf bought smoked turkey that was boiled and then stewed which made it oversalted. The veggies were so overcooked you didn't even have to chew it. My plate went straight into the trash

True jerk flavor; has a nice level of heat. Meat was perfectly cooked. Rice & peas delicious.

The Best Jerk Chicken!!!! If you want good Jamaican food in Jacksonville this is the place to go. The staff was so nice as well. The food was seasoned just right and you get a nice size portion with the small and medium meals. The jerk chicken we are still wanting more of. We came to Jacksonville for a wedding and stayed at a hotel 10 minutes away. The food was so good that we had it for lunch and went back to order dinner the same day. Then went back for lunch before the wedding. We would have had it a fourth time but they are closed on Sundays. Whenever I visit Jacksonville I will be stopping here to get some food. We also ordered curry chicken and fried chicken both were delicious I attached pictures.

The food was GREAT. The owner (Balla) was friendly and you could easily tell he took pride in the food. Looking forward to going back to Balla's.

I came in straight from work, got 1 plate of jerk chicken and some Pattie's.... Wound up taking another plate home so the family could enjoy as well. The jerk chicken is so tender and perfectly seasoned and chargrilled. The restaurant is got an island vibe with some island music playing in the background (not to loud, but just enough to finish the vibe of being transported with every bite. I swear... if this place was beachfront or like it's own standing building with an outdoor tropical place... you would definitely think you got transported. It's super clean including the bathrooms. The owner is filled with joy everytime I saw someone walk in/leave. My server was Lucy (she's also a bartender there), if you go.. ask for Lucy (she work the later part of the week), tell her Trisha recommended her With the quality of food, the cleanliness of the restaurant, the amazing service that I received today... this place is going to be a neighborhood favorite without a doubt!

The staff was so friendly and appreciative when hearing that it was my first time visiting. The waitress even brought out a sample of their goat dish. There was island music playing in the background to set the vibe, along with a map of the Caribbean at every table. My jerk chicken came out quickly and was delicious. The plantains were the perfect consistency, which is important to me because some places dry them out. I asked for a side of pepper sauce and it's quite hot, so consider yourself warned! While I was dining, the owner, Peter, came over and was chatting with the patrons. The ladies at the next table clearly knew him well, and I love that there are local relationships at the restaurant. It was fascinating hearing about his transition from the finance industry in Trinidad to being a restaurant entrepreneur! I only wish I had had had space to try the rum cake. It would be a joy to come back to Irie Diner and support a local business!
