I had never been to Eugene and was overwhelmed. When I was 9 years old a teacher read the Raven to my class and I was addicted to poetry like a fiend. As a teenager I ended up living with a person going to ballet school. I became a huge fan of dance and ballet. When I stumbled on this I just had to try to see it. Another friend felt the same but we both have mobility issues so going to new places is daunting since a lot of venues are supposed to offer ADA in all price points but usually it is marked higher or what the have listed is not actually ADA. It's A LOT to deal with every time you want to go anywhere to anything.. I reached out to the venue and they referred me to the ballet company. I thought, ugh... they can't help but ok... But they did and fast. Talk about making us feel welcome and seen. And WHAT A PERFORMANCE! Ballet Fantastique set ballet pieces to Steampunk styled music performed with cello, piano, and an accordion. A spoken word actor recited parts from five different Edgar Allen Poe pieces (some would argue his best): Masque of the Red Death (1842), The Raven (1845), Fall of the House of Usher (1839),Annabel Lee (1849) and Cask of Amontillado (1846). There were touches of cirque with an aerialist and stilt walker. The sets, lighting, and aesthetic were incredible. This ballet was a treasure trove. They had some gorgeous masks for sale at amazing prices and I could not resist getting a gorgeous production poster signed by the whole cast for $5. After attending this I definitely plan to make it a point to attend another performance of theirs. read more

This is a very fantastic ballet Academy. My daughter had been wanting to be a ballerina for years so I got her into a trial with this Academy and she fell in love immediately. Ever since she has improved in her confidence and joy and loves dancing ballet around the house and is so happy. All of the staff here is incredibly kind, thorough, professional, and friendly. Truth in review! B-fan as they call it is amazing. Back in 2016 I had never heard of a teen ,adult ballet class! It was love at first class! Age didn't matter or what level we were at, even no level like me! Everyone from the teachers and classmates and the wonderful women who had the vision to bring Ballet to the next level! The performances may not be your grandma's ballet but yet they are intoxicating! the costumes is stunning the dancers are fabulous. Who else could make ballet come alive in a western town as they did with "As you like it!" Now with this covid-19 reality the show must still go on! At least online classes are. They are making it affordable and accessible to folks even if they don't live in the state like me LOL and enjoying all of it! An amazing experience. A grand time could be had by all read more

Both my daughter and I have been students at Ballet Fantastique over a period of several years. The instructors are consistently professional and provide very knowledgeable instruction. Our family has lived in over half a dozen cities in the U.S. and we have had experience with dance studios in every one of them. It's extremely challenging to find a professional dance company that offers professional classes while still being open to all levels. Many studios have an "exclusive" feel, expecting students to conform to a certain body type or personality in order to fit in and be treated with respect. Not so at Ballet Fantastique. I've always felt valued as an adult student, and my daughter looks forward to her classes every week. She knows that she'll be treated well by teachers who will still be willing to give her corrections and help her improve -- honest feedback that she truly appreciates at this stage in her dance training. read more

Ballet Fantastique is a wonderful group and has provided a loving, welcoming environment where my three year old thrives. She adores her teacher Ms Taylor, who is a joy to be around, and immediately recognizes her voice even in her online video classes. Lucy looks forward to her Saturday classes, especially going to the studio, with feverish excitement and anticipation. They do a great job of keeping her focused and on task in a kind, caring, and supportive manner. This has been an exceptionally positive experience. I discovered this dance troupe last year. Being a former ballerina (many moons ago!), I appreciate talent and Ballet Fantastique is exploding with just that....talent. They perform three ballets a year (in the fall, in the winter, and spring). Word is getting around how terrific they are and several of their performances have sold out, so my husband and me became season ticket holders to ensure we would have seats. Their last performance, The Misadventures of Casanova, was so detailed oriented and the dancing was phenomenal. The sets were incredible and the costumes were unbelievable. It truly was delightful! I really felt like I was in Venice, in that time period, the 18th century. It was superb! Ballet Fantastique once again dazzled my mind and senses. Every time I don't think they can get any better, they somehow manage to do so. My husband had no interest in attending these ballets and did it for my benefit. However, he has now become one of their biggest fans and cheerleader. Congratulations to Ballet Fantastique for a job well done! My husband and me will forever be fans. Ballet Fantastique is truly fantastic! Original & Unique. My daughter has been taking ballet/character/jazz lessons for a year now. Every minute of every class is utilized. Instruction is focused. The teachers are inspiring and dedicated. Even now as they develop a virtual ballet school and we all adjust to Shelter in place, Bfan has kept us dancing and inspired. We are very grateful for that. My daughter began dancing at Ballet Fantastique about a month before everything happened with COVID-19. The first thing I noticed was how friendly and welcoming both the staff and other families were. They invited us right in and initiated conversation and showed interest in my daughter/our family - even though many of the families/students had been dancing here for years. They made a point to know our names and the families included me in their small talk while we waited for our children to finish their lesson. We have never had this experience at the other 2 studios my daughter danced with. During COVID, the studio has gone to great lengths to take care of us and ask for our feedback and what we are needing during this time. Hannah has been highly responsive and engaging as are the dance teachers. We could not have had a better experience at this studio. Our 9-year old daughter has fallen in love with Ballet Fantastique. After a 2-year hiatus from ballet, our daughter took a one-week summer camp with Ballet Fantastique and was hooked. In the past 18 months, she has come to love her classes, her classmates, her teachers and performing. Each ballet school in Eugene has much to offer. For our daughter, the Ballet Fantastique method has been the most fun. Our daughter comes home from class and immediately begins "teaching" her own imaginary class in our living room. The teachers are firm but kind and patient. The classes are tough, but my daughter leaves with a real sense of pride and accomplishment. The older (ie teenage) dancers are supportive and encouraging. Our daughter is growing up in this ballet school and we appreciate the energy, discipline, guidance and physical exercise that she receives at Ballet Fantastique. Our daughter went from fear of performing to excitement over being in the performances. The professional performances are fantastic. We love everything about Ballet Fantastique. read more
