As she prepared my order, she and her colleagues were all speaking in English, chatting about a story. i was not asked to wait in any specific area of the shop, so i ended up awkwardly standing near one of the ladies who was working on an arrangement. As soon as the ladies finished chatting about the story, they all immediately switched to another language. It's 2019 people - everyone in a working environment knows this is rude. If you all were speaking English the whole time, why switch to a foreign language just as i happen to be standing nearby? Meanwhile, as they each maneuvered past me to access one of the tables, no one ever said "Excuse me," or "Kindly wait over here". It seemed that i was just expected to get out of the way without even being acknowledged. Strike one. As the clerk was wrapping up my purchase, other patrons started to come into the shop, and she started rushing the wrapping - initially creating a look that lacked symmetry and looked like a child had done it. i had to specifically request that she fix it, which is ridiculous because she's the florist! Doesn't she know what a beautiful presentation looks like? Strike two - it was clear she was hurrying my order to attend to the other shoppers. At one point, a young gentleman came into the shop and requested orchids. One of the florists asked him repeatedly what kind he wanted, and it was clear he had no idea. Instead of calmly and immediately directing him to their selection, she starts to ask him difficult questions like "Do you want the Phalaenopsis orchid or a different kind?" i couldn't believe my ears! What average customer knows the Latin nomenclature for types of orchids? The poor guy looked so stressed out. Strike three. This place is clearly lacking in customer service. i may be biased because i've trained business owners in customer service in 4 countries, so my standards are a bit high; but when you intentionally make your patrons feel uncomfortable, i must call you out on it. It's a shame because their flowers are quite pretty. They may want to work on overall shop layout, however. Everything appears jumbled and haphazard as you survey the selection of flowers. i won't be back.
