Paul's passion for his work shows through by the suburb quality of his finished product. It is rare to see such enthusiasm. Paul encapsulated our day like we believe no one else would have. He showed exquisite professionalism and was able to work seamlessly with all our vendors and take command when need be. While it wasn't his concern, he guided a very green videographer to ensure that the videographer stayed true to our requests. Even while taking control, he never missed a step or a shot. His ideas and instructions for shots were brilliant and concise, capturing moments both scripted and live with seeming ease and efficiency. During formals he was able to push out a ton in a short time with seeming to lose his cool, despite multiple last-minute requests. My husband is not one for photographs and yet did not get impatient once! During the ceremony and reception, we rarely noticed Paul as he whizzed around capturing some incredible shots. We never had to call him over to get a shot, he seemed to be already right where we needed him. Even when I started crying...he was the only one with a tissue handy! Paul was with me through my bridal prep and was very comfortable to be around. He was both non-intrusive on our moments and intuitive as to when I needed a little help staying on schedule. He gently organized me while being respectful of my attention. He reminded me of a few important things that in the scatter of the day I would have forgotten and been disappointed. Additionally, through the planning process he responded quickly and was the only vendor that I felt I never had to worry about hearing back from. This was critical to our wedding because we planned it from across the country. I only had about 2 meetings face-to-face and each time he accommodated my schedule and unique circumstance. Each meeting we knocked out everything I needed to know and more. Each time I met with him I felt calmer about the whole process and I feel like he was a critical part of my ability to keep my cool. I hope that you are lucky enough to find him. We set a very high bar for our photos and he vaulted over it. On top of everything, he is a reasonable and fair man, helping us to stay within our budget by giving us flexibility in his photography packages. Although it was one of the initial reasons that I met with him; looking back now I wouldn't think twice about paying double (even if I had to skip out of something else to do it!). He got all our photos to us quickly (despite the distance) and he hasn't abandoned us after the wedding either. All there is left to say is...why haven't you hired him yet?

Prior to the wedding, Paul was so easy to talk to and he listened to everything that we wanted for our wedding. We met with him once, emailed several times, and spoke on the phone a few times before the wedding. He captured every detail of what we wanted. He made great suggestions and asked all the right questions. He set up outside for our ceremony and did a wonderful job. During the reception, Paul kept the night on track. He kept the energy and flow going the whole night in a subtle, classy way. It was perfect. I had several people comment to me during the reception that it was the best music that they had heard at a wedding. Once it was time for everyone to dance, our floor was packed the entire night. We had a great crowd and I knew people would dance but this was more than I expected. He was great to work with from beginning to end and I felt like we were in great hands the entire time. He did an absolutely flawless job at our wedding. To top it off, his rates are completely reasonable! Paul is more than a great dj. The ONLY reason we had gone with them was because they were a preferred vendor through our venue and part of the package so the pricing was significantly less than if we had gone with the DJ I wanted. That being said we did so much work to outline what we wanted for our big day including spending hours putting songs onto the website planner sheet they provide and even requested a 1-on-1 meeting with the DJ. First of all, we said NO country and there was country music played through our dinner. We also had must play slow songs and a must play last dance of the night - he played none of them. The night before our wedding I got a phone from him asking about uplighting which he hadn't realized we wanted (this was requested from day 1 and confirmed in multiple emails) and then came up to us as we were lining up for our entrance to the reception to ask what we were dancing to for our first dance. I was so upset by this because not only was this information was on the planner sheet I submitted online but we had a custom track created by our dance studio mixing two songs together which I had forwarded via email over a month before our wedding which he had confirmed receipt of. The last straw was our ceremony - this we had requested which came with an additional $150 charge which we were fine with. What ended up happening was my cousin who is in a band and does weddings as a DJ as well ended up having to use all of his equipment that he happened to have with him and HE ran our ceremony NOT the DJ. All that being said at the end of the night when my mother asked how much she owed Eric said "$150 but could you do $200?". This in my opinion was beyond rude and inappropriate - my mother was taken aback by his comment and felt put on the spot to pay extra. The one positive I would say is the owner Paul Giroux was very responsive to my complaints and apologetic. He also gave us a fair refund of a portion of the money we paid which I did appreciate but I would never recommend these DJs especially not Eric Monroe. My recommendation? Pay the extra money and get a DJ you have seen and liked at another wedding...do not scrimp on this just because this DJ is a preferred vendor through a venue.

Also, they have plenty of state-of-the art equipment. Dave was our DJ for the wedding, and he surpassed our high expectations. Our crowd danced all night, and many many guests told us that we had a great DJ. At one point it felt like every person was dancing. But more than anything else, I was impressed by Dave's warm and calm demeanor, his organization, and the way he handled our large party for introductions. He was low-key, which is just what we wanted. We had a wedding coordinator to run the ceremony and tell the party when to walk, but, had I to do it over again, I would have Dave do that part too.
