The day of the actual session seem to go well although I felt pressured to buy more products besides the groupon special without yet having seen the pictures. When I received the gallery, I was not all that impressed with the pictures. They were good but not outstanding. To be honest the pictures I have gotten at Picture People were much better. I was somewhat disappointed as I felt if I was going to pay a much bigger premium I wished the pictures would have been better. Back in my hometown I have paid premium prices for great photography and unfortunately have not found that in Caught by a Flash. Soon after receiving the gallery my mother in law had a severe stroke and our lives were turned upside down. Although Lisie was able to extend the gallery, I could not dedicate time to ordering prints.In the end I decided just to order the 3 prints that were included in the groupon special and nothing more. I didn't feel that the prints were good enough to order any more and I didn't want to hurt Lisie's feelings by being honest. After ordering the included prints, Lisie emailed me back and said she would extend the gallery 1 more week. I was under the impression that this meant she would fulfill my groupon order and in addition extend the gallery. No where in her email did it state otherwise. A couple months went by and I contacted her about my order. I was told the gallery was closed and the pictures were not available.I was ok with that as I just wanted the groupon order. Well she told me she did not print those and the gallery was gone. I feel that she wanted me to spend more money and since I didn't she never fulfilled my order for which I had prepaid. I now have no pictures from my son's 1st birthdate & out the money I paid. Lesson learned, do not look for a quality photographer on groupon.

I had a great experience! I went to Marly for a few head shots for my website (I'm a writer,…read moredirector, producer). Before I even showed up for the shoot I made sure that I expressed my anxiety via email about actually being in front of the camera for once. Marly's response was quick and totally put me at ease about any physical insecurities I was afraid would show up in High-Definition in front of the camera. She also gave me advice about what I should wear (makeup, wardrobe, and accessories) that would look good in front of the camera. I felt better going in but still very nervous. When I got there Marly was very patient with me as I had felt my face would do this weird nervous twitch as soon as the camera came out. Marly suggested we play some of my favorite songs I had downloaded on my phone which really helped me relax. Her encouraging words throughout the shoot helped me with my awkwardness :-) The equipment she used was quite impressive and she certainly knew how to use it. Overall, Marly made a nerve wrecking and potentially disastrous experience one that was pleasant and dare I say enjoyable. The pictures came out crisp and beautiful.
