What a great dining experience! I think I was a little lucky and had the entire place to myself as I dined with my family. We tried a little bit of everything and to be honest this was my first real sit down Filipino cuisine. The staff was very friendly and even gave us extra baked goodies fresh. Portions are legit Filipino-sized, meaning you will leave full and we definitely over ordered so we had leftovers. The chicken bbq was surprisingly very memorable to me!

Homestyle Filipino restaurant that serves a variety of traditional meals. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious! Some of our dishes took longer to arrive than others but overall it was a great experience. Some things to note is that parking is in the back , and the restaurant is up two flights of stairs. Call ahead for seating on the weekend .

Legit OG place, been around for almost 3 decades in this town. Food is exceptional and service is excellent. It brings memories eating in here. The best pansit Malabon in North NJ if not entire NJ, not even the Queens or Newark Pinoy places comes close. If you're looking for authentic Pinoy food, this is the place!

Ive been missing their grilled liempo and so we revisited this July and had a wonderful lunch! it wasnt too busy on an early Sunday but there was a good amount of people ahead of us already. Service was good and music played were nice! Ambiance is dark though, whereas i prefer places that have more natural light. We got their grilled liempo (of course!), shrimp sinigang and grilled bangus. Everything complimented each other - the savoriness of the pork and the warm and sour soup of the sinigang. The fish was nicely cooked and we loved the veggie toppings. We were so full but still decided to get the halo-halo anyway haha Ive had better halohalo though; theirs was little ube ice cream and the ice is not fine. Its pieces of ice that you have to crunch with your teeth rather than that melt in your mouth shaved ice so we'll probably skip that next time. Overall its one hearty meal over here.

One of the best Filipino restaurants aside from MamaFina. This place is next to the other Filipino restaurant that serves cafeteria style...That place is pure garbage. Bamboo Grill is a recommendation of my aunt who asked if we could go there. I said sure...food is delicious. Everything ordered and I over ordered was yummy. Service was nice except for the owner working in the room. That is not the place to do work and makes employees resentful and makes for a distrustful environment. You get one star off for working in the restaurant instead of a room away from diners. Service was good and attentive enough and the food was fresh. Ambiance is really open though some dividers would break up the layout. I like this place and unless I am going to MamaFina which has barely any parking, this is the place to dine for Filipino food...I absolutely hate cafeteria style which Filipinos seem to love. Thank you Auntie for recommending this place.

It's my second time coming here and the food is always delicious! I've tried the kare kare from here and it's savoury, and creamy with a lot of veggies and ox tail. The lumpia shanghai is super flavourful so if you love garlic you'll love these spring rolls. We ordered the crispy pata and I was not disappointed. It was cooked perfectly with the skin being super crunchy and having a good layer of fat between the skin and the meat. The leche flan was okay, I've had creamier but I would still order it again. The halo halo is huge, probably enough for 3 people to share! All the staff here are super friendly and I'm surprised that it isn't busy both times I've come. There's lots of space to serve larger parties and the food is family style, meant to be shared. The prices listed on yelp aren't accurate to what the current prices are in the restaurant but I feel like it's still worth it.

First of all, Lori is the best server. Super friendly and attentive. This place offers world-renown Filipino hospitality. #iykyk. For 5 people we ordered various dishes to have a nostalgic palate. The food was delicious overall. If you like fried fish - get the bangus belly. If you like peanut butter, get the kare-kare (an oxtail stew with veggies in peanut sauce. If you can't get to Jackson Heights for the Philippine-style pork barbecue, get it here. Parking lot available. Enjoy and thank me later :)

A neighborhood gem that offers traditional Filipino food. My experiences have always been good here. They have a big menu so it's going to take me a while to try everything, but so far I've liked most of the dishes I've tried. Portion size is good and prices reasonable. I typically get takeout and they pack everything very well.

This is a hidden gem for good and affordable Filipino food…read more Though it might look like a plain little restaurant, when you walk in, you are greeted by such friendly people who are always so helpful and sweet when you have questions, especially if you don't know what certain dishes are. The restaurant is cantina style so you order what you want and they pack it for you. I go there specifically for their "breakfast all day" deal, which includes garlic fried rice, 2 eggs, and your choice of protein/dish, along with a bottle of water for - guess how much?! - $11 cash or you could pay with a credit card with the additional 3% credit card fee. But you get sooooo much food! I couldn't finish everything, so I had to take the rest home. I usually get the longsilog, which is a sweet and savory sausage. Soooo good! When I went this time, I decided to try their tapsilog (marinated beef which is also sweet and savory) and that was delicious, too. My mouth is watering thinking about the meal I had there. Next time, I do also want to try the daingsilog, which is the dried fish. I love Filipino dried fish but not the fish afterwards when I cook it at home, so this is a good place to get this if you want it. If you love Filipino food or want to try Filipino food, this is definitely the place. Again, super sweet people who work there and all their customers are super nice, too. This is the place that everyone seems to stop by for a quick and filling and delicious meal either to take home or eat there. It got pretty busy after I sat down to eat. There are other Filipino restaurants in Bergenfield but I personally like this place because it's simple, authentic, home-cooked food, and it's cantina style, so it's not overpriced. There are sit down Filipino restaurants but they are more expensive with different but they do have more extensive menus. So, it's up to you what kind of dining experience you want. Things to know before you go: -They do have other proteins/dishes other than what is on the menu, so definitely ask if they have anything else they would recommend. -Don't forget to get some vinegar from the big jug to dip your protein in. Elevates the umami of your food! They have condiment cups at the counter for you to get your vinegar to eat there or to take home. -When you order, they simply give you the food and you have to grab your own utensils and napkins which are at the counter. -I also got some Shanghai lumpia, too, and they are 50 cents each. Theirs are really good! -They also have bubble tea. -Seating is limited, so if you are a big group, it might not be possible for everyone to sit, so plan accordingly. Maybe get it to go and eat at someone's house or the park?

It was our first time trying Filipino food and wasn't sure what to order. The owner/chef was so sweet and gave us recommendations. We tried the tapsilog which came with rice and the smoked fish with noodles and veggies. She also recommended we take the vinegar sauce on the side and we really enjoyed that too! There are a few tables here but mostly a quick lunch or takeout restaurant. We will be back to try other dishes soon!

Mama Fina's has been one of my favorite Filipino restaurants since their old Elmwood Park location,…read moreand the food is still delicious in Hackensack. The pork sisig is a must-have here. We also had the Bicol Express, which was spicy and simple. There is plenty of street parking plus extra parking in the back. I also like that they sell small grocery items inside the restaurant. The service is not as friendly as I remember from the Elmwood Park days, but the food still makes up for it. I'll always stay loyal to Mama Fina's. Small fact is I actually met Mama Josefina herself.

It is very casual. - Pork Sisig (5/5): some of the best Sisig I've had. The pork belly is SO crispy even after we were almost done eating! The sauce wasn't too overpowering and heavy. Loved the fresh zing of the red onions. The spicy one is the way to go. - Garlic Fried Rice (4.5/5): I could eat this on its own. So good. The rice was a bit mushy but otherwise great taste - Kare-kare (4/5): a soupier variation of the peanut based sauce I've tried. The oxtail chunks were tender, but all sliced really thin and very few pieces of each. Also lacking a bit in the green beans and okra- flavor was good though. I like the Sisig the best. Only a bit bummed by the high price and small portion sizes
