I decided to try this place because of their very reasonably priced lunch specials. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was so homey, we felt like we were dining at someone's home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was a friendly server and the owner/chef also came out. He let us know he's been there for 6 years. I would have tried them sooner, but I'm no longer in my Thai food phase. There was a time when I used to have Thai food about once a week. I was quite impressed with the freshness of the food and what you get for $15. I thought the portions were right there, but if you need more food, an appetizer might be a good addition. We were there around 12:30 and were the only ones there, but people started slowly coming in and by 1:15 most of the tables got filled. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One weird thing was that they use disposable cups for water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Perhaps it's a more of a to-go place or not enough man power to wash cups? My friend and I shared the chicken pad khee mao and chicken with spicy basil sauce. Each dish comes with a spring roll, but somehow no dipping sauce! However, if you ask, they have them in little to-go cups. My friend can't handle too much spice so we went with regular spicy, which to me wasn't spicy at all. The vegetables were crunchy and I liked that the noodle still had a good chew and not gummy. Basil sauce was right on the edge of being salty but with rice, it was okay. The food was flavorful, not greasy, and I'm sure would have tasted way better with more heat. The lunch options are pretty basic, but the full menu has a lot more interesting dishes, and based on the taste of the lunch dishes, I plan on trying different dishes in the near future if I'm in the mood for Thai. read more

When this place dared to open up across the street from one of the best Thai/Laos restaurants in the area, I knew they had to be crazy or insanely good and I wanted to try it. I put in an order to pick up after an appointment down the street however I got there about 20 minutes early and let them know I would wait, but the gentleman rushed into the kitchen and began to make my dinner. That already won points, waiting till just before pick up to make sure the food had not been sitting there. The rest of the staff were very kind while I was waiting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a cute little spot with traditional decor and trinkets.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] About 10 minutes later, my meal was completed and I headed home with my spring rolls and crispy pork basil and WOW!!!! First of all, why aren't there more people here? My husband and I hadn't been in this area for years, and we stumbled upon Bangkok Station in the middle of the week. We looked at each other and said, "Let's give it a try for lunch." We're true foodies, never afraid to explore a menu, so of course we ordered a variety of dishes and we were blown away. When we first walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner, and her staff was incredibly sweet. Their customer service made us feel instantly at home. Since it was lunchtime, we ordered from both the lunch specials and the regular menu. Before the food arrived, we asked the owner what style of Thai cooking they specialize in. She explained that their recipes come from the middle region of Thailand, near Chonburi. Central Thai cuisine is known for its beautiful balance of flavors sweet, salty, spicy, and tangy all working together in harmony. The dishes often have aromatic herbs, rich coconut-based sauces, fresh vegetables, and layered spices, creating food that feels both comforting and vibrant. After tasting everything, we understood exactly what she meant. The flavors were bold yet balanced, fragrant without being overwhelming, and incredibly satisfying. Been here a few times with my wife. When we come here, we usually get the Thai Basil, Pad Thai, and Fried Rice. The fried rice is personally my favorite although my wife disagrees. Like other Thai places, they can adjust spice level to your preference. All of the dishes were quite flavorful and the spring roll they provided with the lunch special is a nice touch. The place looks to be run by only a few people and I'm pretty sure the lady at the counter is the owner. Service has always been pretty attentive in my experience. I took off a star because of the portion size. They just do not give you enough food especially at lunch. Notice how I mentioned that my wife and I needed to order 3 lunch dishes just to feel full, as only 2 left us quite hungry still. The prices are comparable to the other Thai restaurants in the area but the portions are smaller relative to the rest. OK Thai food, but hard to differentiate them from the competition. I wish I had more great things to say, but, if I were being honest, I really don't. There are quite a few Thai restaurants in this neck of Bergen County and most of them serve a lunch special menu. Bangkok Station is no different. The food is a bit pricier here than other Thai restaurants and, unfortunately, the lunch special portions were smaller too. We ended up ordering a Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Pad See Ew. Both lunch specials came with 2 spring rolls. For $14.95 (As of Sept. 2022), we felt the portion was very small for what we paid. With inflation, it's understandable that prices have risen, but only half of the container comprised of the entree. The Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were OK. Not great, but not bad. We've definitely had much better, but, once again, it wasn't absolutely terrible. If you're seeking Thai food, Bangkok Station is OK, but, if you're ready to eat a cow, the portion might not satisfy your hunger. read more

A tiny restaurant but it was empty when we went there on a Saturday at 11.30am. I believe this is owned by a husband/wife couple. Food was good. I had my usual pad see ew with tofu and the flavor was great. My only complaint is that the portion is a little small so I was hungry after a few hours. Service was good, I appreciate the owner asking me if I wanted chopsticks and she was really friendly. I've tried the southern restaurant that was in this location before and they had tables in the space next door but since this Thai restaurant took over they have split the space into 2 so I didn't know there was indoor seating until I came to pick up my order. Noticed a few 2 seater garden style tables and chairs. My take out order was Coconut Chicken Soup which was delicious! Pad See Ew is my go to for judging Thai restaurants. Theirs was ok, it was a bit too saltly. Nothing special about it. I will give them a try next time I want Thai and maybe I'll be able to update my rating. read more

Was going to go to a local favorite to get lunch, but I'm sure glad I checked out Bangkok Station instead! Pretty much a takeout place, as there's only table seating for 4 or 5 inside. Ordered the Drunken Noodles lunch and asked for it "spicy". 90% of the time dishes I order are not spicy, even if they're supposed to be, which is disappointing, as I feel the right amount of spice can really enhance a dish. Here, they got the spice level just right! Ingredients were also fresh and cooked to perfection! The included Spring Rolls were also very tasty! Newly opened restaurant in the area, gotta check it out! I have ordered from here a few times now and have really enjoyed their lunch specials which comes with a drink and x2 spring rolls. Their dinner portion appears to be the same, so I kinda I wish the portion was slightly larger for dinner pricing. Nonetheless, the pad Kee mao was my favorite with the pad Thai not too far behind. Sometimes Thai restaurants can make their dishes too sweet, but this wasnt overly sweet and very authentic tasting. Just could use a tadd less salt. This is a small family run restaurant, the owner is on site and cooking very authentic Thai food. Fresh vegetables and meats cooked to perfect doneness with delicious curries and sauces. Can be ordered as spicy or mild as you desire. We had their mango with sticky rice for desert, it was excellent. Very nice friendly service. They do a good amount of take out business but we ate at the restaurant since we do not live very close. If you enjoy Thai food I recommend you give them a try.
