We used Bamboo for our home insurance. For almost two years we've had no issue, but suddenly, because our pool is a little green after weather, our insurance is being canceled for the entire house. Not empty, not leaking, nothing wrong with it, just an algae bloom - boom, cancelled. No warning. No "Hey, we saw this happened, please fix before we have to cancel." Save your money, and give it to an agency that isn't going to randomly cancel your policy with no warning. And no, Bam B., I'm not interested in an apology or to have you "reach out." I received a comment from this company. There's nothing they could do to fix this. The damage is done. Stay away from these people. I switched to Bamboo Insurance because the premium looked competitive, but my experience has been a mess, and I would urge anyone considering them to proceed very carefully. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The biggest issue is that you have to stay on top of them constantly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In my case, my mortgage company sent Bamboo the payment for my homeowners insurance. Bamboo's lockbox cashed the check, but Bamboo still turned around and tried to cancel my policy for nonpayment. They sent notice to my mortgage company, which then started sending me letters saying my home was uninsured and warning that they would force-place insurance at nearly triple the cost. After a huge amount of back-and-forth, it was discovered that Bamboo had already cashed the payment from my mortgage company. Despite that, I was still threatened with cancellation unless I paid a portion of the premium out of pocket just to keep the policy active while they sorted out their own mistake. Then, to make matters worse, Bamboo sent me a reinstatement letter and charged me a $10 reinstatement fee for a problem they created. Yes, the pricing may look good upfront, but in my experience, the savings are not worth the stress, confusion, and risk of having your homeowners policy wrongfully canceled. Bamboo insurance is the worst ever. Wish there was a "0 star" option here. Our neighbor's redwood tree fell on our home early in December. It caused significant damage to the roof. They had this lousy insurance and they filed a claimed with them. I provided their insurance the pictures before and after trimming. The tree was not ever trimmed by them since 2016 that they moved in. An obvious case of "neglect". The claim adjuster would not respond to emails and voicemails. I even emailed their claims department, no response. After almost three months, today we got a response today that the case was denied. Basically, nothing but scam. Please don't get an insurance from this company just because their premiums are low. You are basically uncovered and bare if there is any incident. They will not pay our a penny. And I've heard so many bad stories online of claims being minimized, denied or worse. So if it's just to have a policy, it's great. This is the absolute worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. They allowed my California Fair plan insurance lapse more than once - trying to get an email response is like getting a response from a houseplant. When they do respond, expect a high level of unprofessionalism. They are an unorganized mess. Because of their ineptitude and laziness, I was being overcharged on my policy. I went to another broker who applied standard discounts to my policy which saved me about 15%. Don't walk away from these folks, run. read more

This company is trash - Literally zero concern for hardship or what our family is going through. They under estimate all costs reimbursing at costs that are too low to get anything done. They will say "our expert" disagrees with your contractors estimate but provide no additional detail. They will not get on the phone and will leave you hanging. Run far away from this company. My first clue was filing a claim... person was rude and at the end of the call they said "again I want to reiterate, we are so sorry for what you are going through".... I was like "you never said that in the first place" that about sums it up. they could not care less what you are going through or the hardship you have, they make it impossible to communicate or get anything done. Their adjustor just straight up missed things in our claim and honestly had no clue what he was doing. We had our contractor there the whole time the adjustor was there to make sure he was not trying to screw us... For example we had a 4 or 5 panel glass shower door in a custom shower... easily a couple of grand in glass... they estimated $500 for a shower door. you can't even get a shower door for $500 at home depot. Another clue... When I asked if they would cover a hotel for when Asbestos was being removed... my claims person said basically NO... and we should get a microwave and plug our fridge in in another room... even though they are removing asbestos and we wont have access to our kitchen. Its crazy.... the claims department does everything they can to avoid you... read more

I had a homeowners policy with Bamboo. I found a better deal 2 months prior to renewal, and cancelled my policy. My mortgage company paid both policies in error. bamboo sent my check to the wrong address. They had my correct mailing address on file prior to cancellation. They told me that although it's their error, I have to wait 30 business days before I can call back and request ANOTHER check. They can make no exceptions. I am not gonna leave a full review at the moment, but here is my opinion thus far due to our families' current experience: This company doesn't care about their clients and is just in it to charge you monthly for a policy. THEN, when you actually come to experience an issue that needs to be repaired, they sit on their thumbs and play phone tag or dodge the calls. We have been experiencing a problem that originally began in late 2023 but has still not been resolved & due to lack of promptly handling the claim, more damage has occurred since the initial report. I will return for a follow-up once everything is said & done for a complete review, but that could be a year from now since I'm on BAMBOO time & will not be updating until the claim has finalized. This review is on Bamboo Insurance Company I had a claim back on 5/10/24, from a broken water pipe at my master bathroom that caused extensive damage, to the amount of $20,000+ of which the claim was denied 3 times, even after the licensed professional companies did all their due diligence and hard work showing the damage and that it was a legitimate claim. I fought Bamboo Insurance to pay the contractors and to reimburse me for all the materials and supplies that I paid for to save money on the repairs needed and to make sure that all the supplies and materials were available and onsite for the contractors to do their work. Almost to the day, 6 months later I'm receiving checks for the repairs from Bamboo Insurance showing that not only did I have a leg ligament claim, but they purposefully paid well after I paid everything myself, and they paid about 45% of what I had to pay out of my pocket. They said according to their schedule and calculations that's was the fair price & they weren't going to pay anymore. Not only did I shop the all the supplies needed and contractors to save money, time and to get qualified licensed professionals to do the work, I personally spent dozens of hours and hundreds of dollars on gas to oversee and manage the work so all would get done properly and quickly. Unfortunately I had to serve Bamboo Insurance to go to small claims court, just for them to offer me a settlement, but they low balled me and wanted me to sign a non disclosure agreement to make me go away and so I wouldn't tell or go on social media and expose them for their poor business practices. I contacted the Better Business Bureau website and spoke to a representative, and this is what I read and was tol, in the last 3 years they have had 32 written complaints of which only 11 have been resolved, but only in the past 12 months and some haven't even been addressed. I also contacted the Utah Insurance Department and they also confirmed that Bamboo Insurance has had numerous complaints. I highly recommend no one do business with them. It's very unfortunate that it takes a lawsuit for them to even readdress my claim and then their manager tells me that he's sorry that this even got this far and you're entitled to more money as he low balled me and wasn't even willing to give me any money for the dozens of hours I spent on this. Just getting the repairs done and then all the emails phone calls to get reimburse, then all the hours invested to take them to court and now all the time I have spent researched Bamboo Insurance's history of doing business. Unfortunately this seems to be one of the only roads I had to take to get justice. My hopes are that they lose business and customers because of how they have treated me and many others, and that they would become a better company with integrity, accountability, and good customer service. Think about how many people I actually represent that didn't file a complaint or a lawsuit? Please do your own research on this and other on other insurance companies to make sure you get an honest and fair company when you need them. read more

We had a water leak that ruined our floors in one room. Unfortunately, we cant find matching flooring for the entire first floor. The process to get it spproved is truly arduous. It has taken over 2 months with many unanswered calls and emails. They now want to delay the process further with more inspections of the same thing. Its utterly ridiculous. I used Bamboo to purchase a landlord insurance. However after 2 weeks of close of escrow. I was constantly getting insurance cancellation letters due to nonpayment even though my escrow had sent the full payment to them. I reached out to the Bamboo agent. First time, BAMBOO claimed that the payment was sent to the wrong address which she said happens all the time. (Escrow officers usually send insurance payment check to Bamboo agency address however, Bamboo agency says that's not where the check needs to go. Therefore lots of their checks end up getting stuck in limbo. ) I ended up having to email Bamboo a dozen times to get the payment check applied to my policy . Finally, Bamboo got my policy reinstated after I sign a statement of non-loss. My house was not covered by insurance for a period of almost 30 days due to bamboo's incompetency of taken care of their clients. After another month of peace, I got another letter in the mail saying that my insurance will be canceled in 10 days because of nonpayment missing $0.04 just 4 cents. What is wrong with the insurance company that Bamboo uses? If my payment was short four cents why didn't they tell me at the time of the payment. Besides My escrow officers sent the exact amount that was requested on your policy. Bamboo is just the sales agency and they don't follow up to make sure the policy is in good order after they sold the insurance to you. I understand if you don't follow up long-term, however, at least when I am signing up for a new insurance policy, your company needs to make sure that my payment is made and then my policy is in good order before moving on to the next client. I requested a quote back in March but never signed the agreement for coverage with them. The Mortgage company notified me that Bamboo sent them a bill in May, which the Mortgage company proceeded to pay. I have sent several emails and placed several phone calls with no response. I have been trying to get a refund since then. Will look at Ratings, next time. Please be cautious. It might not be the same experience for all, but at least I can share mine. read more
