Though they were sparse, decided to go ahead and give the place a chance. I sat down and after about 10 minutes still had not been waited on. Decided to go ahead and serve myself and lo and behold, an employee appeared to me while at the line. I told him I had been waiting for "10 minutes" with no service. (The place was not crowded I might add.) He apologized, took my drink order and I proceeded to go through the line. There were 2 main dishes at the time...one with chicken and one just vegetables; some vegetable mini egg rolls (nasty); some not so fresh fried rice, plain white rice and some pieces of breaded chicken. I would give the food a D. Later had some soup but it was more salty than a drunken sailor on shore leave! Overall not very impressed with the overall offerings. Spoke with the manager after paying the bill and let him know my experience. He was very understanding. He stated this was the first week and they did not expect the kind of turnout they had for the buffet special. He stated he could now get an idea of what to prepare going forward and that next week would be better. (One customer complained about there not being ice cream available for desert. Dissapointing to say the least. For some reason, we still give the place a shot. It could be good, right? Wrong! I get tuna and spicy tuna. The tuna's okay...pretty standard, while the spicy tuna's a tuna avocado roll, served with a dipping bowl of spicy sauce. Even worse, this tuna looks like it's been out for a while. A €50 lesson learned here, hopefully not just for me. Don't bother, hit up another Sushi joint instead.

My cousin said she's wanted to try a Thai restaurant in town that she hadn't been. For tired travelers Thai food would hit the spot. This was my first time experiencing how Europeans dine where the Restauranteurs prolonging your visit. We went in about 7pm and didn't leave until 9:45 or so. They didn't want us to leave! Every patron was there at least 3 hours eating slowly and enjoying each other's company. No cell phones in sight...except for our table. We used our cell phones at our table to take pictures. No one seemed to mind us. Having your table all night is a very nice concept if you live there, but we wanted to eat and go back to my cousin's house due to jet lag. We all started off with Tom Kha soup with prawns. Excellent. My mom and my cousin had never had it and I explained the easy, but flavorful ingredients to them. They kept comparing it to a Filipino soup called ginataan, however ginataan doesn't have the same sour flavor and balance as this coconut soup has. I make this myself at home. My mom being the ultimate cook of my life, I was in shock that I cooked something that she didn't know how to make! We all ordered curry. My cousin and I had Panang curry and my mom ordered yellow curry. I got crispy duck in my curry and my mom and cousin got prawns. The food was as delicious as I expected it would The service was extremely slow. It took forever to get our food and forever to get the check. I can't knock a star off for this, however because it's meant to be this way. In the US we dine and they try to get us about of there as fast as they can to get a new table in your party. It's better for US servers because they only make 1 tip per table. In Germany they don't require any tip and my cousin told me that Germans in that area don't eat out often and when they do it's an experience that they savor. I get it. I really do. We asked for the check and probably got it over a half hour later. We were more than satisfied with our large meals that we also ate for breakfast the next day! I'm not sure if this is the only Thai restaurant in town, but it's a good one. I've had better Thai food in The States, but if I lived here I'd definitely be a regular.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO!…read more Beware. Eat at your own risk, but I would recommend going somewhere (anywhere) else. When you walk in, the room is clean and looks nicely decorated. The hostess brings an iPad over and explains how to order. 'Order as much as you want, but no leftovers.' Ok. So I can't take any food home, right? Wrong. They will charge you for any food you do not eat! On top of what they charge you for the food in the first place! I'm all for not wasting food, but this feels like a scam for several reasons. Reasons this feels like a scam: 1. The sushi is 90% rice. Nigiri, huge rice ball topped with mushy fish. Rolls, way too much rice wrapped around mushy fish with brown avocado, mayonnaise and dried out out imitation crab meat. Topped with discolored tuna. Tasted as bad as it looked. 2. Gyoza. This was a fundamental nightmare. Undercooked, swimming in oil, falling apart and completely lacking in texture. 3. Tempura. Neither the shrimp nor the vegetables were coated in an actual tempura batter. The shrimp were coated in panko breadcrumbs and the veggies were battered in something thick and heavy. Tempura should be light & crispy. Not swimming in oil, heavy and dark dark brown. ~Remember....no leftovers!~ 4. Shrimp. Poopy poopy shrimp. See my picture for proof. And mushy. No texture whatsoever. Disgusting. 5. Egg rolls and spring rolls. Burnt on the outside, more weird tasting filling and undercooked dough on the inside. 6. Beef noodle soup. Ramen noodles like from the package overcooked to the point of disintegration, making the broth cloudy and starchy. I couldn't pick the noodles up with chopsticks because they kept getting smushed. Beef was chewy and slimy. Another nightmare of cooking techniques. Whoever runs the kitchen is doing not just a bad job, but the worst job. There were so many fundamental screw ups with this meal that I'm shocked this place is still open. When we decided to pay, the hostess came back, looked at the table and said 'oh, we charge for the leftovers.' What?!? No. I told her why we didn't eat the nasty food and she told us we should have told them before we got ready to pay. She said: 'I TOLD you no leftovers!' I told her it was clearly not our fault the food was bad and we COULDN'T eat it. Pointed out all the problems and she told us to just go, it was okay. 'But next time, tell us sooner.' Lady, there will certainly NOT be a next time. I'm sorry there was a first time. Stay away! Your wallet and stomach will thank you.
