Banana Republic - Accessories Near Me - Wayne, New Jersey

This Banana Republic is somewhat forgotten, all the way at the end of the Macy's wing - unless you shop at that Macy's regularly; in which case, it's right next door! It's large and spacious, practically two stores in one (the men's store is "separate" but still connected to the women's store via archways). It's not remodeled in the most recent transformation of BR, but it's still very nice. It also has a decent-sized sale section. I must mention that the employees are a little more ... aggressive? ... than I'm used to for Banana Republic. I was trying to decide between two purses for a Christmas gift, and when I asked for the prices of each, the saleswoman said, "Do you want to buy it? It's a good deal. And we're selling out fast. It's very popular. It probably won't be here if you come back!" She kept pushing for a few more minutes. I got pretty uncomfortable, and ended up buying one of the purses a few days later at Short Hills instead. read more

If there is not a lot of customers in the store, and it seems that customers and employees are almost at a 1:1 ratio, maybe the employees can work towards improving customer service and saying hello? Instead, I noticed employees turning their backs and continuing their conversations instead of saying hello or asking if we needed help. This was yesterday during my visit on a Wednesday afternoon around 2:30 pm. Things here are outrageously priced for the uninteresting merchandise. What may be more insulting are the prices for the sale merchandise. I think, like Gap, Banana Republic has lost its luster. The store layout and design have been the same for probably the last 10 - 15 years, and that's not necessarily a con, but while other stores in the mall have seen updates, this BR remains dark and uninviting. read more

Not that I mind because I don't like to be bothered typically when i'm just browsing, but as soon as I walked in I passed by 2 employees and got no greeting. I needed to return something and although the cashier seemed attentive and kind at first, as she looked up the items to return she proceeded to give me issues saying it looked like it had been worn. Let me tell you, this store doesn't even have that nice of clothes and everything is way overpriced. I recently got the credit card here so I could get 20% off, but now I don't even want to shop here again. Particularly this store. read more

This is your BR/Gap hybrid. You won't find anything from the Heritage line here and you definitely won't come across anything from their overpriced Monogram collection either. What you will find are boring, uninspired staples. Staples that you should purchase elsewhere for far less. So why come to this store at all? For the 40% off all clearance items promotions that they run each season. Full-priced items here are no longer reasonable. I will not pay $80 for a dress shirt from Banana Republic. I won't even pay $80 for a dress shirt from Brooks Brothers, and they make the best non-iron dress shirt in the business. Diligence people... read more

I like clothes from Banana Republic and to be honest I do most of my shopping online but I prefer to return items to the store. The people here are helpful and friendly and take the time to help you. Unfortunately they must be hiring every time I go because it's difficult to find people to open the dressing room or they have only one person at check out. However when they do have enough people I'm usually in and out pretty quickly. The store is neat and clean and they have many great items on sale Banana Republic is a local mall staple and this one might not be one of the most popular but I do enjoy going again and again. read more

I don't normally write reviews on stores, but I felt I needed to make an exception for this one. I came in the store to make a return. The cashier seemed friendly, took the dress I was returning and said that she would be back in just a few minutes. When she returned, she was accompanied by the store manager. The first words from her were, "this looks like it's been washed and that it smells like laundry detergent". I told her that they have not been washed and pointed at the tags that were clearly intact. She then said, "this looks like it's been worn a few times" and pointed to white marks. I then expressed my confusion; are you saying I washed the dress or that I've worn it a few times? I tried on the dress at the store the day I purchased it. Afterwards, she looked at the inside of the dress and asked, "has this dress been altered?" At this point, I felt offended and furious. I said that this was silly and she can compare it with the same dress on their rack (which she did). I had my receipt and tags were on the dress; I didn't know I would have to prove my innocence just to make a return. She eventually gave me the refund without even saying that she was processing it. She merely had the cashier hand me the receipt. I'm never shopping at this particular store again. read more

Attention Banana Republic Corporate Office: This store needs some serious help understanding what customer service is all about.! There were at least 4 people working there but I couldn't find anyone when I needed a fitting room so I used one that was left open by a previous customer. This happened on my second trip to the fitting room, as well. The third time, I had to find the cashier to open a room for me. Meanwhile, I was carrying around no less than 8 dresses at a time. When I made a purchase, my dress was shoved into a very very small bag, which I shocked to find had been previously USED. Yes, it was wrinkled and had obviously been used by a prior customer and returned. This store doesn't come anywhere near the level of service I have come to expect from Banana Republic. read more

DO NOT SHOP here!! I went here to buy a couple dress shirts that were on sale. When I got up to the counter the cashier told.me if I applied dor a credit card I would get 20% off. I declined and he said he could also get me a additional 10% for using the card. I agreed and told him I was going to purchase a few more shirts. When I returned he was with a customer so his manager helped me. After being approved and accepted for the credit card she told me that she would not honor the additional 10%. The other associate even told her thats what he told me. Normally I wouldnt care but being my FIRST time ever shopping at Banana Republic and being dealt with like this was just horrible customer service. Not only did the manager not care but when I told her to remove the additional shirts she replied with "Are you serious" yup I was and as I took her boss's number she continued to smirk and send me on my way. I'm so upset about this store in general. Comparing this store to the garden state mall is small and lack of everything specially costumer service. I've been here multiple time and I've seen different people working here and the same rude and pathetic manager that was totally out of her senses and telling me to call the police and that I was rude in front of my kids because I was complaining about a even exchange and they wanted to pay full price when I paid 1/2 three days before. Instead in garden state plaza they are so nice and profesional . So sometimes one rotten apple can damage a whole basket. Yes, never coming back. read more

DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE! I bought a dress for $60 on sale and it ripped at the seam after the second time I wore it. I just went back to the store to ask if they could fix it. I was told no, so I requested a refund. Since at first I couldn't find my receipt, the manager offered me a merchandise credit for the current selling price of $31. As upset as I was, I started rummaging through my purse and I found the receipt. When she realized how much I actually paid for it, she gave me an attitude and refused to return my money. She then told me to leave since the store was closing. This is the second BR item that has ripped on me. The first one was a blouse that I paid nearly $100 for. I used to love BR but now that I see how deteriorated the quality is and how horrible the customer service is, I will be sure to stay away and tell everyone I know.
