This is a huge UO store, with two floors of products. The first floor has women's apparels and accessories, and also the checkout section. The second floor men's apparel, home goods products, sale items and fitting rooms. Most of the store is organized and clean. As we explored the store, we liked some of their products. It was easy to walk thru the racks and check different items. Some products had discounts up to 40%. The fitting room had no lines. Staff members were available for assistance. This UO is located at Montclair downtown area. Very spacious and variety of selections. From oversized jeans to fitted crop tops, and pretty much anything in between. Changing rooms on the second floor. Very nice staff. Barely any wait for the changing room. I think their price is fair. But it's always better to find it in the sale section. read more

Visited on a very rainy day, and the manager with the tats (Sara I believe) was kind enough to offer to help me lift my stroller up the stairs, because the lift was not working. Her overall demeanor was very kind and welcoming. Then the associate who assisted me was also very pleasant. He was tall, had cornrows (Giovani I think) and I believe he said he was new to the store, although he came across like he'd been working there for a while. Another great interaction. The store was clean and had a good vibe. There was only one employee upstairs who didn't smile, didn't greet me and my daughter, or ask if we needed help, although we were feet from her. She had braids, and her demeanor just didn't scream customer centric. She was directing an employee so she may have also been a manger. I just happened to be in the area, and I came here because I was impressed by the large selection of records that they have for sale. When I came into the store, I was instantly greeted by the person behind the cash register. Whenever I saw any of the employees, they were kind and greeted me, and even answered any questions that I had. I did notice something interesting about my experience at this particular location. The records and available merchandise are more expensive than any of the other stores that I've been to. The price range for their records go from $25-$40, which is a lot compared to what I'm used to seeing from Urban Outfitters. I've been informed that they have records on sale in the back, but those were records that were either damaged or made by artists that no one had ever heard of. I immediately noped that and went to look at all the other merchandise which also seemed to be overpriced. They sell candy on the first floor too. An example of how everything is overpriced is by comparing the price of the Haribo gummy bears at this Urban Outfitters to the Haribo gummy bears that I got back at my local bodega. The Urban Outfitters gummy bears were around $5 and the gummy bears from the bodega were around $2. That's a huge difference, especially since Urban Outfitters can afford to lower the price of their candy in comparison to a small business. The woman who helped me find the body cream I was looking for though was really nice. Her name is Sarah and she lead me to the cream that was on sale for about $2. I love anything that smells like Mango and I was even looking for soap or lotion with that scent so it worked out perfectly. I don't think I'll be back, but I appreciated how nice everyone was. read more

I really like Urban Outfitters but, unfortunately, I don't think I've ever bought anything there. While I have visited them numerous times, I have never seen anything that was...well...worth buying. At full price, their clothing is rather pricy given the quality. That's not to say that they're pricy, per se just that it's cheaply made with cheap fabric and they're charging decent money for it. For the hipster crowd or someone looking to make an occasional purchase I think they're fine, but I fail to see who their regular customer is. They also have an eclectic collection of home decor but again, I think it's more suited for the dorm room than the bedroom. The nik naks they sell are fairly cool and quite unique, kind of like a Spencer's but slightly more upscale. Staff is attentive and totally hipster, a perfect match given their target market. The store is beautiful & spacious with iron and wood decor abounding. Worth mentioning is that they also have a decent selection of vinyl, a worthy endeavor given today's push towards digital media. I really like Urban Outfitters but, like I said, don't think I've ever spent money there. Perhaps I'm too old or not hip enough; who knows. Well let me start by saying that the employees are extremely helpful and nice! I'm 4'11 and always have problems reaching clothes that are on the upper parts of the wall. I kinda feel like I'm harassing them when I call for help mostly because I'll see a shirt and ask for a size then the minute the employee walks away I'm like, "Oh I'm sorry can you give me this one in a small as well." How annoying am I!! The good thing is that they deal with me and are in good spirits while doing so LOL! They have the trendiest clothes but depending on the collection some items can be a bit pricy. So well worth it but a tad pricy! I purchased a beautiful blouse somewhere around 70 bucks and two weeks later it was on major sale so I decided to ask the employee at the register and she was kind enough to assist me without having my receipt. Who knew there was an Urban Outfitters in Montclair? Truth be told, this is a hidden gem that a friend and I stumbled upon. Prior to this adventure, I had only been to the store on 5th Ave in NYC, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the size of this location. I can only assume that they were in the process of changing the shelves over from one season to another, because there were a TON of sales and some sparse areas without too much inventory. The service here has always been nice. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. I do wish that during this pandemic they were more clear with their hours. I went on Sunday and it was "closed for cleaning" even though it was during hours it should have been open. I had never been to Urban Outfitters before living here. I always got it mixed up with Miller's Outpost, which I wasn't so into. Luckily I got that straightened out, and now I live just a couple blocks from one that I thoroughly enjoy checking out from time to time. While I'm not a huge fan of their clothes for dudes, I do dig some of their graphic tees that I'm not sure where else I could find. Like the one I got with the girl sitting on the toilet with her panties around her ankles smoking a cigarette. How hot is that?!?! I also bought a really comfy, colorfully plaid pair of trunks (drawls) here as well that I really like. They have some cooler stuff for chicks in my opinion, as well as some cool novelty items. I should go here to find something for my company gift exchange... like they have a small plastic monkey, that serves as a speaker, and his face looks like he just took it deep up the hershey highway. UO used to be incredible. It was a cool small chain for trendy clothes. Then one day, trendy somehow became mainstream. And magically, the prices at UO rose, while somehow the quality decreased. What a coincidence! So, just as in this case of this store, you have piles of overpriced clothing stuffed into racks and written off as cheap cool clothes. We all know UO and what they the store is about, so I won't bore you with my take on it. Having been in this store twice in a week (ugh, don't ask), the same thing happened both times -- I'm in line at the register, with 2 or 3 other people (adults) with a pile of stuff to buy, with real money. With two or three people in line, you would think the floor staff would maybe notice and come to the rescue of the poor lone girl staffing the cashwrap. Think again -- both times this week, the other staffers within a 20 ft vicinity of the cashwrap ignored the line of customers and made us all wait while they paid half attention to folding tees & the other half to talking about their weekend plans. I came here with a friend who knew where to go for the discounts. By the way its the top floor, in the back. They had Christmas in NY theme mugs for $4.99 and some typography mugs for $1.99. They had small trinket saucers for $5, adult coloring books, cookbooks (marijuana included lol), and more. I was not aware of their home goods section. But am glad that I was introduced to it. Downstairs there was a rack of fabulous nail polishes in cute square bottles. The colors were rich like velvet. I swapped one of my mugs for a bottle of polish. Near the register they also had perfumes with interesting smells such as pistachio. Lol All in all I enjoyed my visit. I took one star away because when we came in there was a female worker standing near the door with another customer chatting. Not only did she not greet us, she did not move. I seriously love this Urban Outfitters store. It is literally 3 miles away from my house, so it is easy to get too. I usually go here if I am looking for a last minute outfit for an event or just to shop around. I'll say the clothes are pricy but good quality. They do have sales every once in a while and the sales are really good. Every time I come here, the manager of store greets me. I would love to work here, once they start to hire. I recommend any hipster like people to go to this store. You can find a lot of hot buys. read more

Yay! Love UO so naturally, I was ecstatic when this place opened up a few years ago. They recently expanded upstairs so that there's a bigger area devoted to women's sale items and a whole new area devoted to men's clothing. The used to get REALLY bad with piles of stuff all over the place, but now that they've expanded, things are a bit neater and organized. UO always seems a bit too overpriced for me, which is why I don't even bother looking at full-priced items and make a beeline for the sale stuff. You can usually find some amazing deals; dresses for under $20, shoes for under $15, purses for under $30, pretty awesome. Check out lines can get a bit long, as it seems there's always just one cashier and a thousand other people "restocking" (i.e. standing around doing nothing) but the store has never been so crowded that it's created a problem for me (at least when I've been there, which is usually Sunday early afternoon). read more

The walls are a little strange since it looks like someone decided to shoot the cement wall. It was the style but whatever. It made the wall look like they were too cheap to fix it. There's not much out of the ordinary to mention about this UO location. I never expect great service in hugely popular places like this. I did however, hop over after going to Red Mango (which I will be reviewing next ;) last week and the employees were friendlier than ever. I also don't expect superior quality in their garments but it never fails that when I look past the 60% that is bizarre hipster crap, I find a ton of hot timeless pieces that are worth their price if you're thrifty, know what's OK to splurge on, and you know how to take care of your things. read more

I'm not sure why but I find it Hil-AR-ious to go into the nearby store after working on my fitness... aka smelling like a rotten onion. Le sigh. Like the reviewers before me, I definitely miss the days when UO was actually affordable. I absolutely never buy things from UO unless they are on sale...or if I am picking up a quirky gift for someone. This UO in Montclair, New Jersey is one of my favorite places to pop into every now and then. The sale rack is usually on point as far as variety of clothing, organization and price. Just the other day I got a nice pair of burgundy colored high-waisted skinnies for around $10. I won't even tell you what the original price was or you might have a heart attack. I think I really only go to Urban Outfitters nowadays to see what the trends are and then pop over to my local thrift store and get what I want for 75% less. Anyway, this UO is huuuuge and the employees are very nice. Definitely worth a browse if you are perusing the area. read more

Whenever I'm in the Downtown Montclair area, I always make it a priority to stop by and visit their HUGE sale section. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. Okay, so first things first: My experience today in UO of Montclair was amazing. I walked in as a disgruntled costumer today because I had purchased a dress last week for $70, which miraculously fell apart after one wash. This angered me deeply, because I do feel that their clothes are cool looking, BUT extremely overpriced for the low quality crap they are made of. Anyway, I waited patiently at the register while the sales rep fooled around with their new "cell phone register". I explained the situation to him; I did not have a receipt, tags, and the dress had been worn once, BUT I told him how upset I was that the dress had fallen apart and had various loose threads and holes, and if he could just allow me to replace it for a new one, then I would walk out completely satisfied. It turns out he did. He gave me a brand new dress and never asked a single question. Totally took care of me and really made me a satisfied customer who will continue to return back. A+. read more

I happen to be in the just over 50 crowd and I love this store!! The prices are a little high, but their sales are great! Usually 50% off or more! I'm not saying that I would wear everything they sell, but there are some cute clothes that are feminine and cool (and not what everyone else is wearing. I like that. They also have a really well designed website, and I do a lot of online shopping. If something doesn't fit, I can return it to the store. Yes, the sales help is very laid back, but friendly. I don't like pushy salespeople anyway. I have a small frame and I can always manage to find several things that fit well, and get lots of compliments on the items I've purchased there. read more
