Jean-Francois and I had several conversations in the month before my trip; he assured me that they could take care of my dog no matter what, and he went so far as to offer to bring her to my hotel so that I could walk her every day of her stay. A last-minute reprieve from the work hotel meant I was able to spend my entire trip with my dog. When I picked up my girl a couple hours after dropping her off, the staff member at the desk described her interactions with other dogs in detail, and they were quick to mention that, as expected, she had shown signs of stress and separation anxiety. The kennel space itself is clean and carefully managed. Kennel spaces and the outdoor yard are floored in concrete, but the dogs don't seem to mind. There is also a wide selection of treats, baked bones, bully sticks, and dog gear in the lobby. JF and his team truly care about dogs. If you need to board while in Banff, look no further than Veronica's.

The reason for the four star rating, they didn't do a good job on his toenails. The groomer told us, very nicely, it was too hard to do his nails. Now after showing up a 3rd time, I am being told in a condescending tone accompanied with an uncaring smirk "we have to book you in either 2 hours from now or in three days." (thanks sist). Good thing she didn't steal anything. I went to the leashes since I lost her usual one. Their price is not bad compared to other pet store. In calgary I have seen the same leash for 25 bucks there it was 20. Since I was there....it was a good buy. The clerk is very helpful. Gave my Bailee a treat. Staff the previous few times were more than helpful, enjoyed talking about the animals, and just seemed happy to work there. Unfortunately, that good customer service aspect went out the window today. We came in, and what appeared to be the only Employee was behind the register. We continued to walk around, pet the cute little brussels puppies and walk around. I spotted a blue tounge skink in the back of the reptile section and immediately was interested as I have an affinity for them. I sought out the employee, and asked her if I could see him at all. She informed me that another employee was the person to talk to about them and she was out at the moment. I reassured her that if she was uncomfortable( because she definitely looked it) if she was able to unlock the tank, I was more than willing to take the skink out. After waiting a few Minutes, she came over with a key and looked at the lock. She then informed me it was a combination lock and she "didn't remember" the 3 digit code. All while staring away from me. So much for that. I was pretty disappointed and left. Hopefully next time I'll actually be able to hold the animal.
