WARNING!!! GRAPIC picture of injury!!! OK so this post is going to be pretty long so sorry in advance. So I woke up one morning and my baby who is a black cat was drooling from the mouse pretty bad. And he was extremely aggressive and just hiding wouldn't eat anything just being weird not his normal self so I called Banfield and they told me I can bring him in right away so I brought him in explain to them that he's drooling and he might've gotten in a fight with our neighbor cat, I just wanted him completely checked out to make sure there was no other injuries. They told me to leave him there and they will call me and let me know what they find. OK totally fine a few hours later they call me and tell me that he has a blocked gland in his mouth under his tongue and it needed to be drained and that he was going to need surgery at a specialist down the hill. It was $500 for them to drain the gland under his tongue, but they said that was all that was wrong with him that it was caused by trauma to his mouth. So I picked him up. They sent him home with the referral to the specialist and some pain medication that is it the next morning when I wake up, he has a huge lump on his throat and his whole neck is swollen. I called the vet right away I thought maybe it's swollen from them cutting his tongue, they told me it's fine to come back for his follow up appointment in two days. Well that night whatever was on his throat exploded, and all this brown green pus was all over the place and leaking out. It smelled like death. I had to open up all my windows and air out my home because it's just smelt that bad and it was everywhere. I was washing it with a warm compress, and just trying to clean it out as much as I could without hurting him, I called them right away and they told me to bring him in so I did I left him there again. They called me back a few hours later and the vet said that she must have missed a bite wound on his throat and it caused an abscess and it was more than likely that he would not need surgery on his gland now because the abscess is what caused his mouth issue and that they could cut back the skin and clean it out completely for $1200. I told him I could not do that. That I already spent $500 on a procedure he didn't need. They asked me what I can afford. I told them it's a really hard time right now not much so they said they can just clean it out for $117 they didn't even offer anabiotic's or anything like that. I had to tell them that he needed anabiotic's because it was obviously infected because it was smelling so horrible, so when I go and pick him up and bring him home to clean his wound that they didn't even wrap!! I look at it and he has a huge ginormous hole in his throat now it did not look like that when I brought him in now two weeks later I am so beyond stressed out and upset because this hole is not healing at all. I have tried every kind of bandage and different ways to bandage it. He still gets his claws into it because it's itching every little piece of scab that has formed he rips it off, I have tried taping booties to his hands tape everything and nothing is working. This whole situation with this vet has been horrible and traumatizing for me and my baby and I'm extremely upset with the way. This vet has made his injury so much worse they wanted me to bring him back in for another follow up and charge me another $79. I can't afford that there's nothing they can do for him anyways because the wound is so big I asked for a second opinion and every vet says that they destroyed his neck and that it cannot be sewn now because it's just too big and there's not enough skin. I have attached the photos. Do not bring your pet here.! Tried calling a manager there... and no one has contacted me back.. I've left my number and name and no one calls us..

Everything from the phone call to get info on their Wellness Plans, making the appointment, check-in with the receptionist, our appointment with Dr. Chen and his assistant, to signing up on the plan, checking out, and scheduling a follow up appointment was AWESOME! The whole staff was so nice and personable. They were easy to understand and spoke in "plain English." I was able to understand everything they were explaining about our puppy and understood what we were signing up for as far as the Wellness Plan. I never felt like I was being up-sold. And the room was very clean. I'm looking forward to a year with Banfield (maybe more) and a happy healthy puppy!

The staff (McKenzie and Dr. Choi) took him in the back, found out his intestines had tangled and died off. Samaritans Animal Hospitals amazing staff took him in for emergency surgery on the spot and was an "ALL STAR" team for Odin's care. He came out of emergency surgery pointed in the right direction. Samaritan Animal Hospital advised us to take him to Animal Emergency Clinic where they had Odin for 3 days. He almost didn't make it, but due to the care of the staff at Samaritan Animal Hospital and the staff at Animal Emergency Clinic is the only reason our puppy made it through. We will be the first to say. We put all our hope into the Samaritan Animal Hospital and Animal Emergency Clinic, where they have done nothing less of being the best choice for our animals and we will not look elsewhere. After the surgery we had to give him another set of shots, after the completion of shots. Odin looked a little lethargic again. Took him into Animal Emergency clinic, where we were then notified of our puppy catching Parvo. Emergency Animal Clinic once again got right on top of it and got him cured up and a reasonable cost. Samaritan Animal Hospital then reached out to shot manufacturer and got us reimbursed for the cost of parvo care. Our puppy is now seven month old and weighing in at seventy-five pounds. We cannot give enough thanks to these people that helped us keep our Odin alive. The staff is amazing, hardworking, honest, and have the biggest hearts. Read carefully. It'll save you money and a damn headache…read more We took in our Belgian Malinois because his leg had swollen and he was no longer able to put weight on it. I paid $1200 for them to run labs and do numerous x-rays. They said they could not find a break or fracture and that he may have just sprained his leg. Sent him home with painkillers and joint snacks for arthritis prevention. His leg continued to swell overnight, I called in and they asked me to give it more time for the medication to begin to help. We waited another day, but he stopped eating and drinking water. He was extremely lethargic and his leg had swollen almost twice its size. We took him back in. They wanted to get more x-rays of his leg. Additional bloodwork. Another $1,200, and then I get a phone call that they noticed that there was a bite mark on his leg. They shaved his leg down and found that he had multiple bite marks on his leg and it had become infected. They had to cut his leg open on two sides, debride it and clean, and then install a drain on each side. Another $2000. They did it all within 30 minutes of them closing, and then they sent us over to the emergency clinic for overnight care. They never provided transfer paperwork, never contacted the emergency clinic. Just sent us on our way. We had no other option and again had to pay $2000 for the overnight care. In the morning, the overnight care stated that our dog needed to get evaluated because there were no signs of improvement and he was in excruciating pain. Asked us to send him back to Samaritan. Samaritan refused to see him! After spending almost $4,500, they refused to see him back. They are absolutely the worst! Not only did they miss what was actually wrong with our dog the first time around, they then refused to see him after they were the ones that provided the treatment. Thankfully, the emergency clinic called Apple Valley animal Hospital. Apple Valley animal Hospital took in our dog that very morning. They had him in for observation the rest of the day. They provided IV and antibiotics IV pain medication for our dog. Sent home additional medication to help him with the infection. They unfortunately had to do another drainage towards the bottom of his leg that Samaritan also missed. There were more cuts towards the bottom. Don't even go here if your pet needs help. They will just take your money and then refuse to actually care for your pet.

Dr. Velasco wanted to do a 2nd surgery that very day to go in and remove a small piece of ovary that was apparently missed. I told him she had eaten this morning at 9am, so wouldn't it be better to bring her in tomorrow after fasting all night? He insisted on doing the surgery that day and said it would be OK because he would take her as his last appt. He called me at 5:30 to come and get her. He sounded funny on the phone, like he wasn't telling me something. I got there at 5:30 and told the front desk that I was worried because of the Doctor's phone call, so could I please speak to him. I also got a receipt for the surgery of $2910.00 with all fees waived, including medications. I thought the Dr. felt bad about messing up the first operation, so her wasn't charging me for the second one. I paced for half an hour, very upset and worried. Finally, an employee came out with Sweet Pea and said Dr. Velasco had already left. Was he avoiding me? She kept assuring me that Sweet Pea was fine because they double checked her vitals. She also said the Doctor wanted to do a re-check appt. Wednesday morning, which was unusual and worried me even more. All the way home I felt like everyone there knew that there was a problem, but no one wanted to tell me. Sweet Pea was obviously in pain when I got her home. The employee assured me that she had been given enough antibiotics and pain medication to last until morning. At 10pm I had another dose of pain meds to give her, but she let out one loud scream and died. She was my love, my baby, my Sweet Pea. The whole house seems empty without her. I am left broken hearted, sick, and angry because this should never have happened. Why couldn't we wait a day? Why couldn't we wait until she was a bit older? Why so insistent on immediate surgery? I now think they waived the charges because they didn't think she was going to survive what they did to her, and they wanted to make sure she died at my house. I will be suffering over this for a long time and will never trust this Vet again. Sweet Pea is dead because of his mistake.

The woman who answered the phone was rude, repeatedly cut me off while I was trying to explain the situation, and told me that because my cat was not considered to be in critical condition, it could take up to six hours before he would be seen. However, she refused to provide any estimated wait time over the phone. Feeling helpless and concerned, I scheduled an appointment for the following day at 6:00 PM. A few hours later, around 10:00 PM, my cat vomited again--this time with blood and blood clots. Terrified, I immediately rushed him to the clinic and arrived around 10:30 PM. I explained that his condition had worsened significantly and that he was now vomiting blood and needed emergency care. To my shock, I was turned away and refused service. The same employee acknowledged that vomiting blood was not normal and stated that my cat needed to be seen as soon as possible, yet instead of helping him, she referred me to another emergency clinic in Upland, nearly an hour away. As a pet owner dealing with what was clearly an escalating medical emergency, I found the lack of compassion and urgency completely unacceptable. If a clinic advertises emergency services, pet owners should not be turned away during a potentially life-threatening situation. I left feeling frustrated, scared, and abandoned when I needed help the most.
