I received a notice on my door that I had flowers to be picked up at Bangor Floral Co. so I went in around 10 am (hours are 9-5). This is definitely the prettiest flower company I've ever been to. Occupying what appears to be an old church, you enter on the backside and walk up a staircase into a flower wonderland. There is an archway of greens and flowers to greet you and all sorts of flowers and vines for any occasion from "Just Because" to "I'm Reallllllly Sorry". The counter is straight ahead after ascending the steps, and if you're lucky you'll get a welcome bark from the friendly, brindle greyhound and a tweet or two from the parrakeets in a cage on the left. The staff was super friendly and very expedient in retrieving my flowers (which by the way were GORGEOUS). Lillies, roses, and really big pretty purple ones, of which I don't know the name. Bangor Floral Co can really put an arrangement together! They also are famous for their Flower Happy Hour which is a cash and carry event for all cut flowers M-F from 4-5 pm. read more

Bangor Floral did me a solid favor for Mother's Day. All of the flower websites were unable to deliver for Mother's Day, even though I was ordering days in advance. I drove to their shop and they really helped me out during the COVID situation. They created two large gorgeous arrangements for my wife's first Mother's Day and one for her mother. They were created thoughtfully and the entire team were very friendly. The flowers last about a week. Prices reflect what you get. read more

Talk about a bait and switch. I ordered The FTD® Timeless Traditions™ Bouquet - BETTER version for Mother's Day. The cost was $78 online and the description stated that the bouquet consisted of 19 stems and the photo shows lavender and white roses. I assume they would fulfill the order with what is shown in the photo but when the flowers arrived, they were carnations and daisies. With tax and delivery the order was over $90. I'm still waiting to hear back from the shop's manager regarding why the order wasn't fulfilled as requested but I'd never use them for any floral needs again. read more

In short - Disappointing all around. The only redeeming factor was Jill's customer service via Facebook chat. Aside from that, my mother received two sets of flowers that did not match what was ordered and the owner was unhelpful and not very apologetic. Longer story here - I ordered a small but beautiful bouquet called "Springtime Wishes" for $55 before delivery costs. It should have consisted of sunflowers, lilies, larkspur, dianthus, and heather, in a food-safe ceramic vase. I ordered this the Wednesday before Mothers Day with a delivery of the following day. Shortly after placing the order, I remembered that my mom was out of town until that Monday. I contacted their FB page and got in touch with Jill, who was incredibly helpful and said it would be no problem. She rescheduled the delivery for Tuesday and I was thrilled. She said someone would call my mom Tuesday morning to be sure she was home. Tuesday arrives. I call my mom at 3pm, ask if she got any deliveries. She says no. I ask if she got any calls. She says no. I call Bangor Floral and speak with the owner, who has no idea what I am talking about and asks if I'm even calling the correct florist. I tell him I used the number from my order confirmation email, so yes. He rustles through papers and says "Oh, here it is. We'll get it out this afternoon." That night, my mom receives her bouquet. It is in a tin yellow watering can with daisies and carnations. It looks NOTHING like what I ordered. I contact Jill on Facebook again to express my disappointment and think it must be because they rushed the order out that afternoon after forgetting about it. Jill tells me she will let the owner know, forward the pictures I sent, and he will be expecting my call at 9am (she says this again around 7am that morning). She says to ask him to send out a corrected bouquet. (I'm not sure why she can't be my point of contact and handle this for me as she works there, but whatever). I call at 9am and he acts like he has no idea what I'm talking about. I explain the whole situation again. He basically says "Well I used what I had, so that's what you got." This statement confuses me because he was just on the phone with me the day before when he found the order. He could have, at that point, saw they didn't have ANY piece of what I ordered and confirmed replacement items or offered a refund. I end up having to ask him to send a corrected bouquet and he tells me (while sounding annoyed) that he has no idea when he can make that happen. My mother received her "corrected bouquet" today. It is pretty, but it is still majorly missing the mark. I'm now realizing that they just have low quality flowers and they cannot offer a high end product. They just overcharge for low quality flowers. I will not be using them again and I would recommend you look elsewhere for your floral needs. read more

It was half the size (which I triple checked on before I completed my order) and was basically all just one color when I had ordered an arrangement with multiple. I wanted to keep business local and now I'm regretting it. I could have gone with a large corporation and paid half and gotten more. The one thing I can say is that it made it to her on time and the online ordering was easy enough, but I won't be using them again. :-( read more

We ordered an arrangement of flowers from Bangor Floral Co as a surprise for my sister in law's birthday. We were well in advance of the date and left a contact number so that they could get a hold of us if she wasn't there when they were to be delivered as well as the b-day girls number... Not only did they leave a note at the door telling our b-day girl to come pick them up herself but the flowers which were supposed to be a Stargazer Lily arrangement came disheveled and with faded and basically wilted flowers. It looked thrown together haphazardly. Since we didn't hear from our B-day girl for a couple days my wife called to make sure that the flowers had been picked up. The person that answered the phone murmured something about the flowers being delivered already and just hung up. Come to find out that when the flowers were delivered they were just left on the porch in the middle of winter without so much as a call or a knock on the door, even though everyone was home. The vase that was supposed to come with the flowers was substituted with this tacky fish bowl vase. Fifty dollars spent on wilted flowers that looked nothing like the display picture in the wrong vase and shoddy customer service to finish it all off. I definitely will go to a larger company next time. So much for trying to support local. read more

I ordered Mothers day flowers for my daughter on Friday before mothers day in Bangor and they were never delivered !!!!!!it's Monday now!

Awful. Just awful. My usual florist was out of baby's breath, so I had to scramble to get some for bridal shower arrangements. This place happened to be the only place in a 50 mile radius that had some. The first red flag was the expensive price tag of $25/ bunch of 7 stems (my florist, The Bud Connection, does $15/ bunch of 12 stems or more of the most brilliant million star baby's breath). But, I was in a pinch, so I went with it, and told myself it would be the best looking baby's breath ever. WRONG! These flowers must have been WEEKS old. I even heard them discussing "quietly" where the flowers were, in behind a bunch of stuff as if they'd sat there forever. The buds were shriveled up tiny, and at least half of the stems were completely rotten and brown. I had to pay $125 for the worst flowers I've ever seen come out of a florists shop. The one positive was the kid who waited on me, he was very polite. All in all, I would recommend people travel to Ellsworth for their flowers... even from Bangor. read more

My husband ordered flowers to be delivered to me on Valentines Day. When I left work that day, no flowers had arrived for me. He called the next day to ask about them, and was told they were delivered, but that they would send out a replacement. At the end of my shift, nothing had arrived, so I called Bangor Floral myself. They said the delivery was coming at some point. When I told them I was leaving for the day, he responded, "Oh yeah, the tag does say before 3pm." He asked me to come pick them up myself, which I couldn't do. He then told me to hang around my work, that someone would run them over to me. I asked if he could tell me what time the original delivery was made the day before, I can check the security camera to see who got them. He responded, "No, that would take too long. I can't control what people at your workplace do with deliveries." (FYI - I checked the cameras - no delivery was made from them) I finally got "my" delivery. Kinda. Not the correct card, or the correct flowers. Horrible customer service, very nasty. We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Purchased an arrangement through FTD and it was delivered to a friend by Bangor Floral. (They sent me a photo) It was NOTHING like the photo on FTD, and the flowers listed on FTD were not the same flowers in this arrangement-- plus-- they delivered the "good" size-- and I paid for the "best" size which is considerably larger and more expensive. In short-- a total rip-off-- plus the quality of the flowers was poor as some were wiling. I called Bangor Floral and spoke to the owner Phil who was arrogant from the on-set. I asked for a credit-- and he actually said to me; "this is what you get from buying from FTD instead of from me." He then went on to complain about how little he makes from FTD-- and he also claimed FTD gives him the "right" to use whatever flowers he has on hand. This was a complete lie because I spoke to FTD who said when they send out an order, the florist must confirm they can make the arrangement as specified. If they don't have those flowers on hand, the florist is to decline the order-- unless they don't give a hoot or are greedy-- or think a customer won't complain. FTD explained (and it's what I thought) If florists had the liberty to change the types of flowers in the FTD arrangements-- then when purchasing online we can never know what the recipient will receive. FTD has a standard, and they also told me the florist (Phil) gets the majority of the money, and if they are not happy being a vendor of FTDs, they can delete him-- and I suggested they should. This guy's attitude was like he was doing ME a favor. It's HIS business. Poor quality half-dead flowers and worse customer service! Nasty guy too.... If you buy from FTD specify with them NOT to use Bangor Floral. Insist on getting quality flowers from a florist that actually cares you spend your hard-earned money with them. My story had a happy ending though-- FTD forced Bangor Floral to pick up the flowers they sent and my cc was fully refunded. My family & I have purchased from Bangor Floral for decades-- but never again. His attitude was horrific. Hope he goes bankrupt! read more

The "Give Thanks" bouquet I sent a friend was switched with different cheaper flowers then I ordered through FTD- was a smaller size then ordered- and they were on the verge of dying. Called the owner (Phil) who was downright nasty. His response? "That's what you get for not shopping local & buying through FTD." He went on to complain about FTD and how gets so little for delivering flowers--. and he had the audacity to say he had the "right" to use whatever flowers he had on hand-- regardless of the description on FTD. (Untrue) Another unhappy customer gave him a bad review on FB. Bangor Floral would not refund me-- but FTD did. Phil was instructed by FTD TO pickup the flowers they delivered-- and FTD refunded my cc $75. Shop with your feet and DO NOT buy from Bangor Florist-- from my experience, it's where both flowers & customer service go to die. read more
