I now have this tow yard on recording admitting they will throw away my personal and medical belongings, including ultrasound images and ADA-protected medical documents, if I don't buy new car insurance for a car I'm not even keeping. Under Texas Occupations Code §2303, a tow company must allow the owner to retrieve personal property without requiring payment, insurance, or anything else. The fact that they openly refuse, and told me multiple times that my belongings will be "thrown away", is a direct violation of Texas law. I also have them recorded hanging up the moment "medical documents" were mentioned and refusing to speak further when asked to confirm their policy. They now send every number I call from straight to voicemail--which says a lot. I was calm, polite, and only asking for my baby items and my medical paperwork. Instead, they screamed at me, lied about the law, and repeatedly hung up. The owners have children of their own, yet showed zero compassion toward a pregnant woman just trying to retrieve ultrasounds and essential items. I will be forwarding the recordings and screenshots to the proper regulatory authorities. This business should not be allowed to treat people like this. read more

After paying in full (with some shady upcharges that weren't mentioned anywhere beforehand), I was told to "walk 10 minutes down the street" to find my own car. Excuse me? This isn't a scavenger hunt -- this is a towing business. Or at least it's supposed to be. Customer service? Nonexistent. The front desk attitude ranged from annoyed to straight-up hostile, like I inconvenienced them by trying to get my own vehicle back. No answers, no updates, just blank stares and sarcasm. And let's not forget the wait time: even after I paid, I was left sitting around with zero urgency from staff. It felt like a punishment, not a transaction. Everything about this place feels like a trap -- predatory fees, misleading information, and a complete lack of accountability. I've never had to pay 6% up charge to use my card and what company does carry change forcing you to donate to the needy. Guy claims they need hour notice but a call at 4 arrive at 7 is 3 hours notice and they still move like they came off the short bus. My battery light came on when driving to pick up my grandchild. I immediately pulled out of the traffic. I was recommended by Firestone to call Banis Towing. I called the dispatcher and she was very helpful and tentative with getting my location. She sent a tow driver out to my location within 20 to 30 minutes. The driver was very pleasant and courteous. What really impressed me is once my vehicle was delivered to its destination I was notified with a text and picture. I would definitely recommend Banis Towing to family and friends. read more

Front arm broke off my tire and I was stranded at the store. Called Banis towing to tow my car and they quoted me a wait time of an hour-hour and a half. They were there in 25 minutes! Super great. A+ and 5 star My husband and I broke down on the I 10 Texas in our 36'class a motorhome.Anyone who has experienced this will agree it's a helpless and scary situation.Here we were in the middle of Texas. Far from our trusted services and at the mercy of our roadside assistance service. We determined the extent of the damage , and that our rig would have to be towed. It wasn't five minutes after breaking down that a gentleman with a tow truck pulled up the see if we were ok and offer assistance.He introduced himself and explained that he was on his way back from a call,saw us and sympathized as he has had motorhomes too. Mr Banis explained that he understood the frustration in finding a wrecker to handle a rig of our size.We we're just in the phone call stage of the process, and he even spoke directly to customer service to help explain our situation. It was determined that Banis Towing was best for our coach.We required special transport because of the rear suspension damage. Mr Banis offered the name the RV repair shop (Iron Horse)he himself uses and the only one he knew of that could handle the repairs for us. I felt my worries wash away as Mr Banis' years of experience had everything arranged for us,from towing to repair.His reassurance and confidence he offered was priceless. We called Banis Towing on the recommendation of Iron Horse RV Repairs. We have a 45 foot diesel pusher motorhome and were very concerned about how it could be towed without damage. Calling Banis was the best decision we could have made! They were extremely polite and friendly when we called. They verified their equipment was available when needed and arrived at the time promised. They came with a lowboy trailer and were very careful to make sure it was loaded safely. We are sorry our young grandsons were not there to watch, they would have loved it! When we arrived at Iron Horse, there was another RV there for service and the owner took pictures of our RV as they brought it in. He commented another towing company (not Banis) brought his RV in and damaged the front fiberglass, the generator and other things at a cost of $7000. Iron Horse said they had two other RVs come in last week that were not towed properly causing damages of $19,000 and $11,000. Now I understand why they recommended Banis Towing. Do not give these guys any business!!!!!! I had my motorcycle towed from these guys and it was the most painful experience of the month. Not only did I receive a generous coating is sarcasm and snickering from the staff from my discomfort, but they released the wrong bike to me. The staff did not care to verify the vin or license plate; they even charged me the incorrect amount and gave me they key to another persons bike even after I told her that I have my key and the driver didn't need a key to tow the motorcycle. When arriving at the yard I was able to convince the tow driver that there was a mistake, this mistake of the staff caused another long wait. If this wasn't enough my card was charged as credit and after the "mistake" my card was refunded the full amount, then asked to pay the correct amount. The refunded monetary value takes more than a day to be credited to my checking account; so when she asked to charge my card again for the correct amount I was unable to pay for the release of my motorcycle. When my girlfriend ( The Lien Holder) offered to pay on her card, we were informed that they would not accept credit/debit cards from anyone other than the person on the insurance ..... I don't know if it's Texas state law or just their preference to cause more discomfort, our last option was to go to an ATM to pay cash. Imagine my surprise when I was told that they don't have much cash on hand for the change to my bill, I was given a lot of change and I am sure they were out of dimes! In my honest opinion, do not give these guys any more business! There are many respectable towing services in San Antonio, go elsewhere. read more

Phoned Banis Towing at 8 AM for service, said the truck would be here at 10 AM. At 10:20 AM, no truck, no call from Banis, so I called them. They said the rig was finishing up with a wreck and would be here in the next 35 to 45 minutes. At 11 AM I phoned Banis back and asked for an ETA, they said the driver would be here in 10 minutes. At 11:35 AM, still no truck, was told once again that he would be here in the next 10 minutes. 11:45 AM driver is just now showing up. Not driver's or the dispatcher's fault that it took so long but I will say the lack of communication and the fact that I paid money to call them since they obviously aren't concerned about customer perception is pretty crappy. This should be an incentive to all business owners, do what you say you're going to do and if you can't, customers will understand but tell them when you know it's not going to happen the way you initially promised. I would have been fine with contacting another tow service had they phoned me and said, it's going to be while, we're all tied up. read more

My road side assistance provider sent Banis Towing out to tow my vehicle. They gave me an estimated pickup time of 40 minutes. 50 minutes later they still hadn't arrived. I called. They said that they had received a call from the police for a DUI tow, after my call came in. They were completing that call before they came to get my vehicle. I've been waiting an hour and 45 minutes now. It's 4:35 in the morning in a rough part of town. For the last thirty minutes they've been telling my road side assistance provider that they are right down the road. Wish Banis would prioritize based on their promised commitment to the customer. Don't call these guys. They don't care. Give someone else the business who will actually work for it. read more

1) The tow truck driver didn't know where he was going. In fact he told me to google it. 2) This morning my insurance called and said they had no idea where my car was. 3) When I called Banis towing to inquire on the location of my vehicle, the woman told me to tell my insurance to, "look harder cause it's not here." She was extremely rude and unhelpful. 4) My iPod is now missing. The only person who had access to my car was the tow truck driver. 5) The second time I called Banis towing to inquire on my iPod, again, she was extremely rude and was no help at all. She basically "assured" me that none of their tow trucks driver would ever do such a thing. Now I admit, I should have remembered my iPod. But I had just been in a traumatic and life threatening car accident that totaled my car, and I was still a bit distracted (to say the least) from that. But I stand by my review. Banis towing was a terrible company to leave my car with. The entire experience has been terrible. They are unorganized and rude. Maybe you could have a better experience, but I did not. Banis towing is the best of the best. I was stuck, I mean seriously stuck, in an area with rapidly rising water where 2 other tow companies refused to assist. Jason Banis jumped at the chance to help me in my predicament. This is the worst towing company I've ever dealt with. They will do all kinds of crooked stuff to try and charge you as much as they can. One example is they will try to close early so you can't recover your vehicle which leads to more charges for it having to sit over night. The owner and tow truck drivers are very unprofessional and childish, and to top it off they do business with organized criminals to steal people's cars!
