And now paper statement is $5 and now there's a fee for checks. All of the perks of establishing yourself with a credit union, are now gone. Anyone seeking to do financial business with them will not be happy. I implore you to establish a relationship with a bank in your area, where the interest earning rates aren't something you have to jump through hoops to attain. Credit union 1 does not care about its customers. I have found better rates at my local bank and they don't charge $5 for a paper statement either. I never had a problem with the workers out of Matteson location. I just don't like the way the company has chosen to fleece its account holders. Not so long ago, it used to be credit unions were the way to go. With credit union 1, that is no longer the case. Forced to choose a star. But officially, the entire organization doesn't deserve any at all.

When I got to the teller, it was a young woman who assisted in setting up my account, so it was nice to see her again. I let her know what I desired to do this visit and she got to work. The latest:…read morewhen this local bank was First Midwest I regularly did external transfers with a credit union associated with where I work. No problems. Old National steps in and suspends the external transfer, cancels the link, and then tells me that I can no longer (ever!) transfer funds between these two institutions again. So, I either close my credit union accounts or close my Old National accounts. Easy decision.
