Being over 35, I was initially worried about being automatically labeled "high-risk," but Dr. Badheka never made my pregnancy feel unnecessarily medicalized or complicated because of my age. Instead, she guided me with evidence-based information and calm reassurance, helping me feel informed and confident every step of the way. Dr. Badheka has incredible bedside manner, always calm, kind, and compassionate. She consistently took the time to truly listen to my questions and concerns at every visit, and she made me feel like not only an active partner in my care, but also fully in charge of my decisions. Communication through the health portal was always prompt and thoughtful, which made a huge difference in easing anxiety between appointments. One of the things I appreciated most was how respectful and supportive she was of my birth preferences. I had a detailed birth plan and chose to have a doula present during delivery, both of which were not only accepted but genuinely welcomed. I never felt pressured into anything I wasn't comfortable with, which made the experience that much more empowering and meaningful. Sutter Eden Medical Center has been incredibly responsive, easy to get appointments, and appears so far to be quite progressive in terms of best labor and delivery practices. I feel comfortable and trusting that I'll be well cared for when I go into labor.

I had to do a last minute rescheduling for the exam due to girl problems, but Dr Sylla's schedule was pretty open and I was able to get an appointment the following week. Apparently she had a student shadowing her that day, and asked permission to have the student in the room. Why not if it enables better doctors in the future? The student did my pap smear under Dr Sylla's guidance. I forgot how uncomfortable pap smears are, but they were both very pleasant and kept making sure I was okay. Dr Sylla then did the pelvic exam. Overall, Dr Sylla had a very cheerful and positive bedside manner. I'd definitely return to see her for future exams.

I just had one of the worst doctor-patient experiences I have ever had…read more I am currently pregnant after recently experiencing two miscarriages, after trying for 2 years, so this pregnancy is incredibly emotional and important to me. Two days ago, I noticed some unusual discharge. Because of my history and the anxiety and fear that come with having experienced two losses, I asked to be seen by a doctor. I was told to come in today, and I saw Dr. Deepti Gupta. From the moment she entered the room, I felt that she was annoyed that I was there. She immediately asked why I had come in. I explained my history of two miscarriages and told her about the discharge. I was extremely emotional and almost crying because I am genuinely scared of losing another baby. Instead of showing compassion or reassurance, she was extremely dismissive and rude. She told me that the discharge was normal and that it was much too early to see anything, but the way she spoke to me made me feel as though I was stupid for being concerned. My husband came into the room shortly after she entered, and she was clearly irritated that she had to open the door for him. After the ultrasound showed a gestational sac but no fetal pole, she simply said, essentially, "See? It's too early. You should wait. Time will tell." While I understand that it may have been too early to see more on the ultrasound, there was absolutely no reason to communicate this information in such a cold and dismissive way. My husband had a few questions, and Dr. Gupta was already standing by the door. She repeatedly said "take care," clearly trying to end the conversation rather than taking a moment to answer our questions or acknowledge how anxious and vulnerable we were feeling. I came to the hospital looking for medical care, reassurance, and support during an incredibly frightening and emotional time. Instead, I left feeling completely dismissed, judged, and as though I was annoying her or wasting her time by asking questions. Patients should be able to express their concerns, especially after experiencing pregnancy loss, without being made to feel stupid or like a burden. I understand that doctors see many patients and that not every concern will be medically serious, but compassion and basic respect should always be part of patient care. I sincerely hope I never have to see Dr. Gupta again. After this experience, I am seriously considering finding another hospital to take care of me and my baby.

I saw Dr Wigginton's glowing reviews I thought they were too good to be true. With this being my first pregnancy (and in COVID times) I had so many questions. Dr Wigginton was patient and calm, and always took the time to address everything on my mind and provided me with all the information I needed. She is also extremely personable and remembered details from my previous appointments and followed up on them and truly made me feel cared for as a patient. Jill, a nurse on her staff, was always friendly and easy to contact and I was able to schedule all my appointments easily as her schedule opened up each month. When it came time to deliver my baby (due on Thanksgiving week), she assured me she would try her best to be there. Lucky for me, she was on call that day and because of that, I had every confidence that my baby and myself would be in the best hands. The delivery went extremely smoothly and even one of the nurses that came by mentioned how much everyone on the floor loves Dr Wigginton. One caveat, she is super popular and books up, so be prepared to wait especially if you book an afternoon appointment and she runs late, but I do think that is a minor inconvenience to the amazing OBGYN that she is and great care you will receive.
