I've been a patient for 6yrs and will never again change my PCC!! Having worked in Jax for 35yrs as a RN, I know hundreds of physicians. Dr. Calhoun's bedside manner means she spends whatever time is needed to make sure all questions are answered, concerns addressed and that you are in agreement with the plan of care. She follows up promptly with contacting you with lab results, etc. She has a team of great P.A./ARNPs that means your needs are always addressed immediately. I am a 4EVER patient!! read more

My first visit as a new patient was a very good experience! It's true--a great doctor is so hard to find these days. Staff are all super nice from Ann at the appointment desk, Amber the nurse, and Stacy at the lab. Felt right at home. I saw Dr. Calhoun. My family and I have been patients for over a decade and won't go anywhere else. I previously knocked a star for the office running late, but that's because they actually spend time with patients! So I'm updating my review with a story... Dr. Calhoun just recently was not satisfied with a report done for a family member by a specialist. The report basically was a vague negative for a somewhat scary medical condition. Doc didn't like the vagueness and her instincts made her re-order a test this year. This month it was determined that yes, the medical condition is in fact present and the new specialist reviewed prior films and saw it present years ago. Luckily my family member is very low risk for complications with this issue, but we would have been in the dark and blissfully unaware but for her taking the time to follow up. So kudos to Dr. Calhoun and the staff for providing wonderful medical care and caring about their patients. read more

Love my doctor here but they have very poor time management. Overbook patients per doctor. I had appointment at 1515 and didn't get to see my doctor until 1640. It just made me very set up and don't hate to come here if not real necessary. read more

All the staff are very friendly and respectful, my doctor Taylor was amazing and very professional.

Great doctors, horrible service. Everytime you call it's about a 30 minute wait with intermittent messages saying that they have longer then normal hold times. It's not linger than normal hold times when it's every single time! Additionally, if you have an appointment at say 10, you're expected to be there at 10, but you won't even get a room for an hour after your appointment time. Currently I am sitting in the waiting room 49 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and have not even been called back to a room yet. Again, the doctors are great, but it's just not worth it when it takes an entire day to just be seen. read more

I cant say enough good things about this team. The excellent customer service begins as soon as you call. I think I have spoken with Nancy and Linda, both are always warm, friendly, helpful and responsive. They make you feel like a cousin who needs help. Brooke is our nurse, and she knows each of the members of our family. She works hard to take good care of us and has even followed up after hours to make sure things are okay. Brooke has never, ever left us hanging... and that is sooo much more than I can say for most doctor's offices. Dr. Yalch is our PCP, he's the kind of doctor that listens. He doesn't shuttle you through your visit like cattle. I never feel rushed and he listens to all my crazy ideas when I think something's wrong. Have you ever felt like doctors could waste all of your time, being late on appointments, or canceling at the last minute, but if you're late they slap you with a missed visit charge? Well, Dr. Yalch and his team have never left me waiting for more than 5 minutes... It is a small miracle if you ask me... and by reading this much of my long winded review... you sort of have.... The front desk reception team is top notch, always smiling and geniel. read more

Terrible patient experience this morning. Was instructed to arrive 15 min early for Lab blood work; I arrived at 7:45 for 8:00 appointment. Checked in online as there was not a sign in sheet on the counter. There were about 5 other patients in waiting room. Finally had blood drawn at 9:00 an hour after my scheduled appointment. And the kicker is that my Baptist Health portal had aftercare posting of this appointment BEFORE it occurred. Just shoddy impersonal care here! Will not go back! read more

The Doctor's are really good. The staff are friendly. However, the timing is horrible. They are always running behind. Your appointment will take longer than expected. Do not make plans when you come to this medical office. If your appointment is at 1 pm you will not be seen untill1:45 or 2pm and maybe 2:30 depending the day. I continue coming here because as mentioned before the staff is very good and so are the doctors. I just wish they were more on time . read more

I came in on Tuesday because I needed to have labs done and I met the nicest young man by the name of Kevin. He drew my blood and was so patient with me (I get nervous around needles). I seem to always get phlebotomist who don't understand that not everyone is comfortable around needles! but Kevin was great and his professionalism also really helped me get thru the blood drawing process! read more

I am currently sitting on hold waiting to speak to someone about trying to keep an appointment today. I spoke with the office this morning and agreed to a virtual appointment at 215 pm. I sat by the phone for over an hour till i had togo to the restroom, which is when the call came in 30 MINUTES LATE. So here i sit on hold for over 15 minutes trying to connect with them. Yes, I agree with the comments on the office staff you see when you first arrive. They are rude and self centered. They are not caring about us, the patient and also the person who pays there salary. The women on the front desk have been there for years and I cant understand why they still have jobs, except that upper management would rather keep rude employees than to retrain them or replace them. Management must be too close minded or need to take there blinders off to the office staff. read more

After visiting two general practitioners in the Baptist Healthcare System I concluded, based on the fact the neither paid careful attention to what I was saying and failed to do what I asked of them, that you're just another piece of meat with a number in their system. I strongly suggest you consider visiting the Saint Vincent's Healthcare System. I have yet to be disappointed by the personal attention, care and competency shown by them. read more

I never thought that I would be leaving a negative review about this doctors office but after the way I have been treated by the staff the past two weeks, I am ready to switch to another primary care physician at another location. I'm going to start off by saying that I am a transplant patient. A five organ transplant patient. My health care is a big part of my life. Because of a weakened immune system I get sick very easily and very often. I normally see Dr. Patricia Calhoun, but the past two weeks I had strep throat that turned into walking pneumonia and I saw Dr. Melville. Both doctors are great and I like them a lot, but the staff has been nothing but rude and nasty to me. I have had to call the office a few times in the past two weeks to check on a prescription. A girl named LaShawnda or LaShawn has been answering my phone calls and is so rude. I just had to call this morning about a medication and she basically gave me an attitude and chewed me out because of a mistake that the office made with where my prescription was supposed to sent because they sent it to the wrong pharmacy. There are two other ladies there that always give me a problem when I call too. One is named Linda and every time I try to schedule an appointment she plays 20 questions with me like I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm sorry but I think I know when I'm sick seeing that I've been a transplant patient for 19 years. The other lady that works there has checked me out after my appointments the past couple times I've been there. She's basically just an idiot and doesn't understand any questions that I ask her as I'm being checked out and my next appointment is being booked. Needless to say, because of the bad experience I've had with this office in the past two weeks, I am seriously considering finding another primary care doctor. I hate to switch doctors, but it's just gotten so ridiculous with the office staff. I have been coming to this office for the past 7 years and both of my parents see Dr. Calhoun too. It just makes me sad that it has come down to this. read more

Heartfelt Thanks to Dr. Terry Hayes of the Mandarin office. I have been suffering for over a year with respiratory congestion, and have been treated for pneumonia several times. Recently, Dr. Hayes suggested that I consult a heart specialist to see if there was more to the story. He referred me to Dr. Adams at Baptist South Hospital who had me tested and screened which showed I had artery blockage exterior to heart which was causing my fluid in lungs, To make my adventure brief, I am having artery by pass surgery on July 1st. My surgeon says my heart is in good shape, so this is preventative treatment to avoid a heart attack. Again, I give thanks for my primary care doctor, Terry Hayes. Go Gators! Warmly, Robert D. I was a patient of Dr. Calhoun between 2006-2015. I'd estimate 25+ visits over the course of a nine year period; visits being both routine and specific in nature. The good: When Calhoun is with you in the examination room you have her undivided attention. She is a warm and friendly person. Her staff treated me (and my family) very well. The not-so-good: Waiting times can and often do border on the ridiculous. It is the norm to show up for a scheduled appointment and wait 60-90 minutes before you are seen. I have waited up to 2.5 hours on occasion. The extended wait time is the reason behind four stars. If wait times were considerably shorter I'd give six stars. read more

I have been seeing Doctor Carlos for many years.in fact he was our 30 year old sons Doctor in 85.I have has a lengthy injury with a frustrating journey,Doctor Carlos is a wonderful compassionate man.However some of the staff had made it so very difficult to continue to see him that I had to leave.Maurine is the nurse,her false sense of power and willingness to bully any chance she gets made me leave the doctor I loved.The front office is rude!!!!!!Always .they had two women that were always so friendly the last couple of visits in March they were replaced with mean,nasty women.I am a outspoken person but did not want to continue to do battle with this injury and nurses and staff that felt the need to be combative..Look if you no longer have compassion for people or bring your personal stinky attitude to work,maybe find another field ,the last thing a sick person wants to deal with is non compassionate people.The office needs a spring cleaning! read more

I have been a patient here for over two decades and was shocked to hear the bad review. There has to be more to this. The staff, and I mean ALL the staff during check in, prep for Dr. and making follow up appointments are always pleasant, professional and extremely helpful. I have a medical condition which requires monthly contact with the office staff as well as prescription refills and regular follow up appointments. I have NEVER had a bad experience here and have recommended this office to all of my friends. So sorry that Brittany C had an unpleasant experience here. Doctor Yalch is a great doctor and he has always treated me really well and with loads of compassion. My complaint is that it is next to impossible to call in and get an appointment. The phone automation puts you on hold and there you stay forever. I have actually waited for an hour on the phone and no one ever picks up. This is a great office but they need to do something about phone wait times. read more
