Scheduling I would not say scheduling has been on the mark. My lab work was scheduled after my visit with the doctor, and then I received a text message advising that the date and time had been changed. Because I have low blood sugar, I cannot have a late-morning appointment. There were also three separate attempts to get my imaging orders sent to the correct location. While I did speak with some individuals who were professional on the phone, all of my imaging requests were routed through referrals, and that is where the process broke down. I understand that end-of-year volume may be a factor, but these issues have made scheduling unnecessarily difficult. read more

After being with this office and seeing different Drs. come and go, we always felt that the care was very good and caring. We always thought that we would never change Drs. or locations but we didn't have any choice this year. Be sure to check to see if they are still accepting your insurance or if they won't any longer, even though it's a major company. So needless to say like the Drs. before left for one reason or another, so did we. Oh one more thing, when we were checking whether our Dr. was in network during open enrollment, we were told that he was only to find out that was not the case when I called to schedule an appointment. Type of care was negligent with NOT listening to my issues but MIS-HANDLING my labs after I was asked to do blood drawn, only to find out my labs were sent a week prior to me finding out it was done. NO follow up, NO communication to me and definitely no accountability in that office. Just poor management definitely do not recommend going here for primary care. Reality is they are understaffed and can't get back to you within a reasonable timeframe. read more

I have been going to this Dr Office for 25 + years as a patient of Dr Terry Hayes and his fabulous nurse Nora. It started slowly as Nora was gone and no one could possibly fill her shoes! She was real and true and cared! Then Dr Hayes retires , no letter sent, and when I called for an appointment I was given two names and was informed they were referred to by Dr Hayes. I picked one and Dr Todd was my new doctor. Not impressed. As the office looks bare, no pictures behind front desk of doctors. And to top it off "Cynthia" who I believe worked for Dr Hayes (not sure of her title). She is quick to be snarky and reply to messages meant for the PA or the doctor. I'm sure Dr Hayes would like to know after his retirement Cynthia was quick to reply to me when I said "After 25 years as Dr Hayes patient I was never requested to come back (another co-pay) after just being in the office and seen by a PA. She replied "Well, Dr Todd does things the right way unlike Dr Hayes". Wow !! I'd love to see her title or her Doctorate degree. After changing to a new doctor , Dr Whitley who has an excellent, efficient, and friendly staff...I think it is sad to see not just the decor changing in Dr Todd's (sports paraphernalia) ...but seeing the friendly PA Shoemaker and the other PA going down with a sinking ship. Hopefully they will end up in a professional office like I did with Dr Whitley in Tapestry Park. I would love to tell Dr Todd that Cynthia is a thorn in his side however, I truly do not think he gives a crap...when I told him I was thinking of getting a new PCP his reply was "cool"! Dr. Sofija Rak is really sweet and detailed oriented. I found her on the Baptist site and decided to switch my primary care to her since I was not liking my old doctor. I made the appointment on the phone and came in on my 1st visit and I didn't need to wait for that long considered how busy they are at the office. The medical assistant was very friendly as well as the front desk ladies. They seemed very organized with checking their patients in and out. The lobby is spacious and clean. The back office is a bit tight at the entrance but it doesn't bother me. Dr. Rak addressed all of my health issues and we made a plan to get me better so I'm hoping that I will be on track within the next months. I have been going to Baptist Primary Care at Mandarin South since I moved back to Jacksonville in 1992 and Dr. Terry Hayes is my doctor. I was very happy when I got the referral from a cousin and have been happy with them since. The office is always clean and the staff friendly and professional. I don't think I have ever had to wait more than 10-15 minutes to be called to go back. The nurses, PA's and assistants are all caring, knowledgeable, and willing to help, plus I never have to leave the premises for bloodwork and x-rays. If a referral is needed I can always depend on the staff to get me set up with an appointment as soon as possible. Nora, in particular, has always been exceptional with follow through. Several years ago my husband was not happy with his PCP and I recommended Dr. Hayes, who he also goes to now and really likes. Over the years I have seen several other doctors there, if I needed help right away and Dr. Hayes wasn't available, I found that they were also very caring and helpful. read more

I I thought I had found a wonderful primary care/ internist. I have no complaints about Dr. House. He gave very good care. Out of the Blue I got a registered letter saying I was rude to the office staff. Honestly I don't know what they are talking about. I haven't had an problems at all. I called and left a message for the office Manager, Dr House, the Drs. Medical assistant to call me back. NO REPLY. I feel I'm being STONE WALLED. I am SO SHOCKED! The day this letter was dated( 5/ 16 /23. I came in for my blood work. I have been going their 2 years . I deserve a response! They sent me a form letter. Un signed. No Way Would I recommend this practice. I'm a very sick woman in a lot of pain, with diabetes issues. This place has always been my primary care practice to go to since I was young like 12 years old. The front desk staff are nice, the nurses are well-trained and my doctor is always willing to listen and recommends the best advice. I get my annual exams and blood work done here. I do wish that they would have more special equipments like EKGs so there isn't a wait for it. My visit was about having heart palpitations and I had to take an EKG. The LPNs had to rush and hook me up because they only had 1 EKG and other doctors were needing them. They did 2 readings on me. My doctor said the readings came out normal but she recommend I have a heart monitor to wear to check it. Only issue she had was explaining the process of getting the monitor because since the Healthcare changes, she had a hard time telling what my insurance would cover. I understand what she means because there are constantly new regulations and changes to the healthcare industry. So I said we can try to order it and see what my insurance covers. After seeing my doctor, I did my regular blood work that was no issue. Altogether, it went well. read more

Very rude staff (except Kim, she outstanding). I spent a full week with multiple phone calls trying to get refills on my prescription because the baptist system was experiencing software rollout problems. I showed up in the office and was told by Jada "just because you're in our lobby, doesn't mean you're walking out if here with medication". After waiting an hour, I get prescriptions and a letter from Dr. Stephanie Agyemang that outbursts to her staff will not be tolerated. I was completely shocked. I expressed my frustration and the office treated me like they could care less about my healthcare. They went victim on me to cover their rudeness and incompetence. Oh, and last visit, they brought me back took my vitals and had me confused me with another patient. Don't trust your health care to this office. They don't care. read more

Dr.Hartley, Dr. France and Nurse Gil Have treated my daughter who is now 22 and they are currently treating my grandchildren ages four through 13. They are a great team and very caring, loving, and give great advice when parents are at their wits end as our children grow and challenge us. read more

If you go here you need to know already whats wrong with you, or have an idea what kind of tests you need. This doctors office is atrocious. They have been incredibly irresponsible with my medical information. Not only is there a 3-4 hour wait after arrival every visit with an appointment, but I have also dealt with rude staff members after complaining about the wait. They have also lost my blood test results, then blamed me as the one who lost them! They even lost my sisters shot records. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! I will be from now on visiting a different doctor, the close proximity to my home is not worth the dreadful experiences I have had over the past few years. read more

I'm a new patient here and from the time I was greeted at the front desk till I walked out the door I was given exceptional service. My favorite part was, I didn't have to go anywhere to get my lab work done because they do it there and they have a portal that makes it so convenient to see your results and ask questions if you want. read more

Dr. Sofija Rak has been the rudest, careless attitude with me after I was being seen by my OBGYN after the birth of my child. I was seeing her at my primary PCP office when she was new there about 5 years ago. She was very nice but as time went on, she became very hard to speak to and see in office without feeling like a bother to her. She hadnt seen me in a couple years after the birth of my child because I was being treated for my high risk pregnancy. When I came back to my PCP, Dr Rak, she asked why wasn't I seeing "my" doctor. I told her she was my doctor I just hadn't been seen for some time after the birth of my child and scheduled my annual physical with her. From there on she acted like she couldn't be bothered and was very short with me on questions I had. I decided to see her for clearance on an elective surgery shortly after my physical the same year. She kept trying to change my pre op appointment while I was in the office telling me I should change the appointment to a later date because I was requested bloodwork. I told her I was on a deadline with the pre op appt and she stopped talking to me and asked basic questions to fill in on her computer and let me go. A couple months later I came back to her with questions in regards to stitching, which I was assured by multiple doctors that any doctors office would be capable of doing, she told me she will not be doing so and I had to tell her I wasted my time coming to see her once again because she never wants to treat me. I'm not sure what rubbed her the wrong way but I've always been polite and respectful to her. When I told her I would like to know the process of getting my medical records, which they have at this practice over 8 years since I moved to florida, she told me get a new pcp and fill out the form and we will send your records to them with a smug smile on her face. I told her I came in for a visit and couldn't be treated that I'd be charged for. She told me to follow her and loudly and Condescendingly told the office reps to cancel my appointment and give me my money back. There was no money to give back, I have insurance. She treated me terribly the last three times I've seen her and I will be switching and letting my family, friends and everyone else know to beware. Wow, Outstanding! I was expecting an Urgent Care Center and was most pleasantly surprised that this was a complete Primary Care Center with seven doctors on call. I was greeted with professionalism and given a same day appointment with only 1 hour service. Went to lunch and when I came back, my doctor Jonathan Balog, DO was waiting and gave me exceptional service and made me feel totally comfortable and took the time to explain everything that was troubling me and helped eliminate a lot of false self diagnoses. The best part of it all, was that it is only seven blocks from my home, how can you ask for more. Way to go Baptist Primary Care -Mandarin South and thanks a million Dr. Balog. I have been a patient at this practice for 19 years. My PCP of 19 years left last year and the service and care has gone to hell in a hand basket. The new PCP that I made the error of choosing, actually examined me for my physical, over my clothes, wearing gloves. The warmth of a patient/Doctor relationship was not there. I figured, I would get through it, get my scripts renewed and find another PCP at some point. Well, to add insult to injury, when I was called to pick up the script for my ADD med, I was told that I now have to come in every 3 months to see this physician. No plausible reason is given however, when I arrive to pick up my script, after I wait 15 minutes while the rep is on the phone with a difficult patient and I am given some crappy typed up piece of paper that they are calling a contract, to sign for my ADD med. Not just no but, HELL NO!!!! I am not signing anything. Especially for a medication that I have been on for too many years to count. Ritalin is not OxyContin!!!!! Not only was I treated like I was dirty but, then I am treated like a drug addict!!!! All I can say is WOW!!!!! Not only is Dr Rak, WHACK, she is clearly a quack and needs to go back to where ever she came from. There is no compassion or integrity in the medicine she practices. Only URGENCY!!!!!! No one should be treated in this manner. Not a homeless person, crazy person, or even a person with multiple graduate degrees, who has been a practicing critical care nurse, longer than the combined time it took her to graduate high school and become a doctor.
