When I asked if she had a wipe or something I could use to clean it she scowled at me. They ask, "cash this?" when the inscription on the back of the check says, "for deposit only in account #_____" OR they don't ask and just give the cash out, without an envelope, when it clearly said "for deposit in ____ acount." And DON'T get me started on the mess they did with the recent house loan. Always errors, always blaming it on others, excuses for why it all went wrong. A HOT MESS! The business loans are just as bad as reported by those who have been tortured by the process. I've discussed this with others and I am not alone in this assessment. YIKES! If I weren't tied to them with my home loan I'd have been long gone.

I have been doing business with the Camden National Bank for over 50 years. Under the old…read moreadministration they were reliable and valuable allies in the personal economy of locals. Their front-office people are still excellent. However, the more recent back-office policy people seem to be infatuated with growth, and have only a predatory attitude toward those of small income. Twice in the past four weeks I have overdrawn a debit-card account in the morning, transferred money to cover the overdraft from another CNB savings account in the afternoon, and discovered that the bank first penalized me for the overdrafts and then took the penalties out of the money I had deposited to cover them. Clearly the new bosses are infatuated with growth, not service. They apparently don't know that growth without service is the strategy of cancer cells. As soon as I can, I will be moving my Social Security and annuity deposits to a more locally-focused bank.
