Depends on what you're looking for. It's a great place to watch some football matches but I kinda get the sense it's just your average bar after the football ends. It does have a bunch of foosball tables which are actually in pretty decent shape. And I believe the downstairs section has even more foosball tables. Don't think they have any beers on tap though. There is a basement and maybe there are taps down there, but given the beer is all just bottles it seems a bit pricey. Great for a football match, pretty chill after the match. read more

This place is known for its many foosball tables. My first first visit was through work. My office booked this venue for a colleagues leaving party. On arrival we were directed to the basement area which has it's own bar and about 4 fooseball tables. I love foosball so that aspect about Bar Kick really appealed to me, as well as the the Happy hour from 4-7pm (their mojitos are brilliant!) I was however let down by their so called food platters which consisted of two small hummus bowls, two types of cheese some bread and a few crackers. Not sure how much the food was (our company paid for this), but it hardly fed 3 people, before it dissappeared. Another let down was that the one foosball table that we were given to play on was super wobbly and the other was missing parts, not something you expect from a foosball bar and expecially not if you're paying £1 for each game. Bar Kick remains a cool bar although on my latest visit I felt a little disappointed. Yeah, sure this may be down to Newcastle Utd being relegated, ok the majority of it is down to this reason. Seriously though, BK's food menu is ok in its offering but seems to be undecided in whether they do pub food or some kind of Mediterranean gastro offering. After chomping through a few dishes I found the food well presented but lacklustre. The drinks and cocktails are of a much higher standard than the food. They do Happy Hours which involve cocktails for £4.75 and imported beers for £2. When they show the football on the big screen downstairs, having cheap beers on offer is always a great pull. Bar Kick still draws the Shoreditch massive who love to spend time playing table football. This bar will remain a giant of the Shoreditch scene for years to come. read more

The place gets busy when live football is on, and there's a few big screen TVs, although this is not a great place to watch live football due to the limited seating areas with good views of the TV. Brilliant place with a group of friends, boys versus girl's table football. After a few drinks the competitive streak is revealed and the games really begin! A very casual venue with fun diner styles table and chairs with red and white gingham tablecloths situated in front of the bar. The food is very easy for groups and couples, standard bar nibbles and meals. Very popular bar for watching national and international sports games with a large screen to enjoy your favourite team on. Downstairs is an extended upstairs usually only open on their busy nights, namely Friday and Saturday. I used to always get Kick and it's neighbour, Juno, mixed-up. Maybe because they're both on Shoreditch High Street, both sportsy, and both...generic. I've been to Kick a few times, and I must say the food there is pretty damn good. Staff have always been fun and friendly, and the bartenders know how to mix a mojito. Ever wondered why the name has a kick to it? This is a foosball (table football) place. So many tables to play foosball here. Stairs to the basement lead to a nice place with 6 foosball tables, 4 of them next to each other, two separate, a set of couches and some tables and a bar. This is a great place to book for team building events. The whole of the basement can be booked. They make good sandwiches too. At my current firm I regularly visit this place. Twice a year, we have a foosball tournament here. I love the ambiance. Everyone is screaming out names of the foosball players and encouraging and having drinks, taking breaks to bite a sandwich, it so full of life. The bartenders are also very helpful. They fix the foosball tables if something is not working. I totally recommend trying this out. read more

While it's not tops on my list of places to go, I like the vibe I get from Bar Kick. Sure, it's great for a game of table football, but it also works as an easy spot for a drink. There is enough room to relax - if just not enough places to sit. The downstairs area is more lounge-y, but still works fine for me. I like that Bar Kick is able to transition from a Saturday night Shoreditch hotspot to a place where you can watch a football game during the day. There is quite a community that will gather for the bigger matches. Of course I understand that most Americans don't like football, but did you have to put our flag above the entrance to the toilets?... We'll have the last laugh next year in South Africa! read more

I was here for a leaving drinks party a few weeks ago and it was okay. My first impression was that Shoreditch was not exactly the best looking place but EVERYONE including babies were decked out in their trendiest duds. It was soooo hipster, it was almost a joke. I am all about being different and showing off your personality but when everyone around you is doing it, it loses its power. It becomes a oneness that completely negates the point of individuality. Okay, rant over...moving on. :) Upon entering I realised that I had actually been here before 3 years earlier. The bar is very distinct with foosball tables in every corner that can be reserved for parties. It's a great place to catch a game and a cold brew if you are in the area. The bartenders could have been friendlier, the drinks were good but when it was time to close our tab the bartender wouldn't even look at us. And we had spent a pretty serious chunk of change in there. It is a fun atmosphere and I love playing games so I'd be more than happy to go back, but I'm going to have to make sure I get a side shave, dust off my graffitied converse kicks, black jeans and miscellaneous t-shirt with some dead celeb screenprinted on the front. Bar Kick's primary draw is its links with football and table football -- with several tables of the latter prominently placed in the cafe area upstairs. Taking it from the point of view of being a bar -- it works rather well; a reasonable enough selection behind the bar, with generally quite affordable prices (particularly during happy hour!). However, food-wise it seems to have an identity crisis. The menu reads as much more upmarket than the establishment otherwise seems to be, with a rather strange offering of Mediterranean-inspired dishes. That said, the food when it came was serviceable, but £6 for a glorified sausage sandwich and a salad is pushing it a bit, in my book! A very good place to come and watch football, or play some table football with friends. But if you're planning to eat, you may be better advised to look elsewhere and come along here afterwards. read more

Although no table football was actually played during our stay there, it could have been worse having the tables in the bar - it certainly added to the vibe. Yay! I'm a fan :) even though I can't play foosball - It's a fun bar to rock up to and play a few friendly games with your mates. It was the first time I visited Bar Kick for London's very first Geek Foosball Championships. They hosted the event in the basement and reserved the four back tables - which were conveniently located next to the bar. About 50 or so tech heads participated (with another 50 cheerleaders aka spectators). We were each given a number at random to pair up with another geek. Ok so first of all: I'm not a football fan, and I don't usually like pubs with very big screen etc... but still, this is a great place where to hang out! nice happy hour (16-19) with beer at 2 £ and selection of cocktails (the easiest ones, daiquiri, margarita and that sort of stuff) at lower price (I think it's 4 but.... well if you wanna be sure about it just go and see by yourself!!), and more overall..... football tables! Most of people there are nice and friendly, it's a great place where going with a friend and just have a beer and a match against two complete strangers! Sure I'm a fan and let's face it, who wouldn't be, especially after the night I had in there on Thursday... Having gone to bar kick with every intention of showing the whole media industry how devastating I can be on a table football, sadly I failed with my accomplice Alex. Thankfully though there was a free bar, so we went to town. Having been knocked out in the first round and bringing shame on the country of Brazil, it gave us a chance to have a wander around Bar kick. Whilst there are more table football (are they called benches?) than you can shake a goat at, bar kick is a great place to visit even if it's just to pop in for a single beverage. The largest problem i noticed is that unless you are invited to an event sponsored by the beautiful people at Flash Talking, you will struggle to get on the tables as they are extremely popular and the standard is pretty good, so make sure you bring your A game. Prices for a beer are reasonable for Shoreditch, the bouncers are friendly and this unique atmosphere provides a top dollar night out. Make it a must in your East London travels. read more

Cheap happy hour + foosball tables = how can you not have fun?! Bar itself is nothing special - international feel, flags everywhere and they screen big games if that appeals, though the England v Ukraine world cup qualifier was just background noise to me! Table footy however is my bar game of choice, and I got totally nostalgic for my uni bar. If you're a fellow foosball fan/geek (can't quite believe I'm saying this) then you'll find the tables a bit slow and the bars stick quite a bit. Fortunately this gave me more control and handicapped the 3 guys who were always better than me at uni, so yes this review is positively biased by the fact I won a lot wooh! The £2 beers and £5 cocktails also helped - worth getting there before 7pm. Already collecting pound coins for our next visit (now I just need the forearms to recover)... read more

Good atmosphere- check. Good music- check. Ample opportunity to play kick football- check. This bar has all the makings of an excellent night out. Even without the football, the bar is a good space to let your hair down and while away the hours with their £2 bottled beers (happy hour!!) and half price cocktails. The bar itself was a quirky, yet small space filled with americana. The tables and chairs felt like they had been lifted from a nearby primary school canteen but it all added to the charm of the place. Shoreditch has a whole host of great bars and clubs and there is nothing to make this one stand out but it was a good night all the same! To start with I must admit I'm a slightly competitive person.. So when I had the chance to visit and 'kick' some butt at foosball, I couldn't resist! We came here quite late on a Thursday night and still managed to score a foosball table and seats which was lucky. The wine was flowing and aggressive side showing, I could not fault one aspect of the atmosphere this great bar creates. We ended up staying until the bar staff had to physically remove us (and we still didn't want to leave). We rolled in here yesterday afternoon after leaving Brick Lane just as the Chelsea game was ending. As patrons began to pile out, we lucked out and got a great spot on the leather couches. Luckily for us, Happy Hour began 15 minutes after we arrived - leaving us no choice but to enjoy a significant amount of £2 bottled beers for the remainder of the afternoon. Following the numerous rounds, and an intense game of Jenga against Lauren H., the action then spilled over to the fooseball table. I must say, my companion was a highly skilled passer, which naturally allowed me to run the midfield and score at will. All in all I love this place. Great people, great drinks, great televisions, and get action all around. Walking distance taken into account - BarKick might get sick of seeing my face. read more

Great spot for drinks & playing Fusball! Heaps of Fusball machines upstairs & downstairs & also on the walls! Gets extremely busy in summertime, especially at the weekends! Despite only being in this bar for around 30 minutes, I'm already a fan! We came here for some drinks for a friend's birthday, and was surprised at just how large this venue was. 2 floors of tables with 2 bars to help serve customers, and a pretty cracking Happy Hour with £2.50 bottles of Sagres from 4-7 most days! The bartender was quick and even comped us some ginger beers because they didn't have any of our preferred brand in stock. And perhaps the most refreshing thing, is that you can book an area and table for you and your friends for FREE (a game is only £1). Oh, this is so Shoreditch. It's so not me, but it's really good at what it is, so I can't dock it. There's lots of space downstairs, and they let you reserve areas. It's good for large mingling gatherings where you want to talk to lots of people who you already know, so that you can pretty much guess what they're saying as they yell into your ear. I could not possibly imagine trying to talk to someone new with the noise level it gets up to. After a couple of hours, it was pretty useless trying to keep shouting because I just couldn't get my vocal chords to generate sufficient volume. You know, that kind of place. It's a thing. Bar Kick or as some people call it Cafe Kick is a bar in Shoreditch. It has an open kitchen serving quality food, a varied selection of drinks and the it seems to attract the trendiest of youngsters that East London has to offer. Drinks include beer, cocktails and wine. The staff are friendly and stay very calm with the busy groups of people that seem to go there. When a match is on this place is jammed and an exciting place be. I go here with friends to play and often lose in foosball and for the big games. And lots of beer. Bar Kick is a great place for any Pro Evo widow to drag her man to, whilst still satisfying every lad's right to drink beer and get a little more competitive than we're admitting to. For there are not one, but two floors dedicated to the art of table football/foosball/babyfoot. Of course, this also a good excuse to chuck in a couple of plasmas permanently broadcasting Sky Sports latest sporting acquisition. However, this place doesn't have a over-aweing sports bar vibe, as music still reigns supreme - and this being Shoreditch; patrons are young and trendy rather than away shirt stretching walking heart attacks. Tasty food, good selection of drinks, not badly priced (especially during happy hour), sports on the two TV screens upstairs and downstairs (not really my cup of tea, but it is a sports bar so what'cha gonna do?). I also love the decoration in here, it's a mixture of American Diner and School, withthe menus in the style of school 'jotters' and retro desks. I've heard the terms 'sausage fest' being used to describe the male/female ratios in here before so if you're a straight guy looking to pull, it might not be for you. Great Euro-style sports bar, with the obvious main attraction being the table footy. Costs 80p for about 9 or 10 balls and played on old fashioned tables. After 7.30 they open up downstairs, with more tables. Beer wise, there's nothing on tap - just bottles - but it's made up for by Happy Hour cocktails. The Mohito is especially good, as was a raspberry one, which I can't remember the name of. :-S Had some hummous and bread as bar snacks, so can't comment on the food, but it all looked ok. read more

Stopped here for a few drinks and some table football. Obviously a great spot for that, probably 20 tables over 2 floors, super fun bar! Very solid place, not a bad beer selection at all.
