Even though the location of this restaurant, which is right along the lake, might scream "tourist trap" it was actually good and affordable (under 10 euro for each of our entrees). Food: -Novella salad (9 euro): This salad had shrimp, olives, and corn on top of a mixed salad blend. The portion is large enough to share, and I like that the salad is already in a mixing bowl so that it's easy to mix. Dressing is simply olive oil and vinegar that you add yourself. -Ely pizza (9.50 euro): This is really just a margherita pizza (tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella,, and basil). Again, the portion is large enough to share between two people. The pizza crust was thin and the middle was not soggy. It's not the best pizza I've had in Italy, but it was above average. Service: -Our server (didn't get his name) was very friendly and welcoming. I thought it was so cool that he spoke 3 languages seamlessly as he went to different tables! They also have menus in different languages, so they're used to accommodating tourists. There was a French speaking table next to us, an Italian table, and then us Americans--haha! Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend stopping by this restaurant if you're looking for an affordable dining option with a great view! The service here was excellent. I was with a large party for a wedding and we came back here several nights in a row because they were so accommodating and the food was delicious. I don't remember all the meals I had, but I had the pesto lasagna one night and it was amazing. read more

The food here was plentiful and authentic tasting. It was also very affordable. You could tell this was a mom and pop restaurant from the inside. The service was very friendly and personable as well. I'm glad we stopped in and got some pizza as it ended up being the best meal I had in the Lake Como region. Definitely recommend if you are walking around Tremezzo. read more

The combination of food quality, friendly service and, most significantly, value for your Euro make this lakeside/roadside restaurant a winner. Guided by earlier reviews on this site my wife and I went for dinner one evening. The experience was so favorable we returned for another meal later in the week. The service there is very helpful and performed with a cheerfulness that makes you feel very comfortable. And, as has been emphasized before, the prices are quite reasonable for the area, especially considering the high quality of the kitchen. Everything we tasted there was savory and flavorful, obviously prepared with care and pride. I was curious about the cheese tortellini with walnut sauce mentioned quite favorably in earlier reviews. It was delicous, the pasta being wonderfully delicate (rather than chewy as is often the case) and the rich sauce made for a fine dish. A lasanga Bolognese again was a delightful combination of fine perfectly cooked pasta with a non-tomato based meat sauce that was excellent. The downside to the restaurant is its location right along the lakeside road with its heavy and noisy traffic. Many of the tables face the lake just a few feet from the roadway. On the other hand the beauty of the nighttime lake and the gliding lights of passing ships is also in view. But if road noise is a problem, tables are available in the rear behind a noise (and view) blocking wall. read more

The food was absolutely beautiful and I would highly recommend this little lakeside bar and restaurant and if I'm in this part of the lake again il definitely be back. 10 /10 superb . I've been in Italy for a week now and had a homesick craving of eggs for breakfast. Stumbled across this place and scored. It's a sidewalk cafe in the heart of Tremezzo, literally on the main road. We sat 5 feet from the road and had a peaceful awesome view of Lake Como. I ordered an omelet with mushrooms and a side of chips (French fries). I was in heaven. I chased the food down with a nice flavorful cup of Caffè Americano. My belly was totally satisfied. Great place for omelets and many more. read more

We chose this restaurant for lunch after a tour of nearby Villa Carlotta because of its great reviews here and elsewhere, and because they have gluten-free pizza. We were not disappointed - it was one of the nicest meals we have had in Italy. We sat outside in front of the restaurant, between the sidewalk and the restaurant, as opposed to the terrace between the sidewalk and the street, which seemed too close to the car traffic. The weather was a perfect September day. Our waitress, Lisa, was sweetness personified. She patiently let us practice our Italian with her with a smile on her face. Lisa helped my wife design the gluten-free pizza of her dreams, with roasted vegetables for toppings and just a little mozzarella on top. It was one of the best gluten-free pizzas she has every had. I tried a piece, and the crust was every bit as good as the "regular" pizzas I have been eating here in Italy. We shared a mixed green salad that was the best we have had so far in Italy. It was a delicious mix of all types of small young greens - no ordinary lettuce here. And it was huge, as most "side salads" we have ordered have been. I had spaghetti with oil and garlic, which also was delicious. This was one of several vegan or vegetarian choices on the menu. After this lovely lunch we didn't want to leave, so my wife had lemon sorbet for dessert, and I ordered a caffè americano. The Italians always present their coffee in a very attractive way, but this was the best I have seen so far. I received: one cup of espresso; one small pitcher of hot water, so that I could dilute the espresso to my desired consistency for caffe americano; one small pitcher of soy milk, also steamed, so that I could add as much soy milk as I wanted (per my request) without cooling the coffee too much; and of course a small cookie to eat with my coffee. I have to be honest, I've always been skeptical of reviews where folks say they ate at a place multiple times during their trip. Really? Who does that? Well, we just did that. We dined at Red & White upon receiving the recommendation from our hotel (Ville Marie) on our trip to Tremezzo. It was exactly what we were looking for, good food, great house wine, outdoor seating and friendly staff. All at an exceptional value. We enjoyed our Mushroom Risotto and Spicy Salami Pizza so much that we went back the next night for their Veal Limon and Pasta Arrabiata. Both nights were capped off with some limoncello, which was good, not great, the glass could have been a little colder. The restaurant's outdoor seating area is situated right on the main street in Tremezzo so it can get a bit noisy with traffic (mainly speeding motorcycles) but the atmosphere of dining by the lake is still nice. read more

We wanted a simple authentic dinner, and we were happy with our choice. The pasta and bean soup was earthy and basic. The pizza was tasty. The spaghetti bolognese was a generous portion with a good balance of sauce and meat. It's not the thick red sauce you might expect, rather lighter and brighter.
