Was driving back to Barcelona from Pamplona and was told to come check out this quaint little town…read moreOlite! It's absolutely gorgeous. We asked a local where his favorite spot was and he recommended Gambarte.
Go to the second floor and enter from there. We were greeted by this server and immediately sat. There's about 10 tables total.
I believe the menu of the day changes everyday because the pages are dated. 12€ for the menu.
To start, the server brought out complimentary cold soup - perhaps a palate cleanser. It was really refreshing for a hot day like today
(BTW, no English menu)
Appetizers:
Ensalada de naranja - nice size portion. Orange vinegarette dressing. Loved it
Lingotes de espinacas y queso con ensalada - so a mozzarella stick with spinach (deep fried) and salad - spinach cheese sticks - loved it! Wish they out a little more salad though
Entree:
Codillo de cerdo - pork with red wine sauce. It's the shoulder part. The meat didn't fall off so easily off the bone. The sauce was alright - I've had better. Order a side of garlic aioli sauce for your patatas!
Chuleta de pavo - this fish was cooked perfect - it wasn't dry and rubbery and the sauce that went with it was great. My favorite dish!
For postres:
Pastel vasco con nata
Queso semicurado con membrillo casero
I wasn't a fan of any of these desserts. It's typical Spanish desserts however I had too much sugar from earlier and wasn't in a mood to eat them. My bf on the other hand ate it all so I'm assuming it was alright.
Props to this server for handling 10 tables at once! I know I would never be able to do this so if you come when she's busy, be patient!!
